OKC is young but they aren't a typical young team that just runs n guns. They actually play defense, they lead the league in forcing turnovers and 3%. Those stats alone they could beat anyone except Denver

I agree completely. I would also add that they get better as the game goes along, do not get rattled when down and win close games in OT. I do not say this very often, but they really do play with experienced characteristics. I expect to see them in the Western Conference Finals.

Okc is going to WCF. They play better when the pressure is challenging them . I can see them facing Denver in 7 games . Kings/pels they can win in 5/6. They play Mavs I honestly can see a sweep or gentlemen with clips 6/7.

Seems like nobody’s respecting Thunder being the number 1 seed which is a shame. Thunder securing the 1 seed in this year’s intense seedings means a big deal wasn’t an easy task. This young team is surging for sure

We have seen time after time these young teams get that 1 seed and get heart broken in the playoffs. These guys are going to be in new jungle and have to adjust. I think they have win the 1st round and lose the second. Its fine but regardless of what happens this will be the experience they need.

SGA has playoff experience. In his first 2 years he played major minutes actually 30 mpg for the clippers as a rookie and 40 for the thunder. Zion has NONE, Brandon Ingram only played in one series, but was great. If all the thunder youngins dont fold under pressure Thunder in 5

In playoffs anything can happen, the refs officiate differently, the players try harder, the arenas are way louder, the pressure plays on players minds. So could OKC be a first round exit? Sure but my biggest worry with them is a team with size over a series will give them issues. But they have an MVP candidate, one of the best young players in the league and the second best rookie this season along with good defenders like Dort, Wallace, Kenrich.

Chet first full season after being out for a year and has SGA, being #1 in the west isn’t an accident, they’re good. I have them in the west finals. They are the best duo in these western playoffs.

Exposing your lack of ball knowledge. Chet unlocked the entire offense, dude is a match up nightmare. They could still use a big of course but Chet has been a million times more important.

@@rockyyz9591 Yes he is because Jokic can't guard Chet either, they have to put someone else on him. And nobody can guard Jokic anyway, he totally cooks AD and Bam and all the others. It's very clear you don't know what makes Chet dangerous - it's his great shooting and his speed which means other centres can't guard him on the perimeter or he'll blow by them and finish at the rack. This opens up the entire OKC offense. On defense OKC could still use a big who can bang a bit with other big guys as I said, but that would not have gotten OKC the #1 seed.

The lack of respect being shown to OKC is astonishing. They are the #1 seed in the West for a reason because they're top 5 in both offense and defense and have at least a top 3 player in SGA. Hell they sat several key players in some late games and still ended up 1st. This team will go as SGA goes and there is no chance he's not going to play great every game. He's as competitive as any player in the NBA and is an incredible closer.

That whole experience thing is massively offset by OKC getting homecourt advantage throughout the western conference playoffs. Meaningless now.

To be fair we've seen a lot of inexperienced top seeds in the West that lose early in playoffs. It's almost a guarantee you'll have one or two inexperienced teams that get a high seed. It's very very rare for one of those teams to win it all. You usually lose as that inexperienced team first... Like DEN did, MIL did, TOR did, etc... the only exception as of late was 2015 GSW but they got a small taste of playoffs in 14 just not as a contender.

So i can argue that there is actually more evidence of experienced teams losing. That being said if you want to look at the regular season .. This team is the 1 seed for a reason and should be treated as such..

I don't think people hate seeing young teams succeed. In fact, it's a really good sign when young teams succeed. I was so hyped for Luka and Trae and Bron back in 07. But they are absolute anomalies or just plain lucky in Trae Young's case. Nobody is mad at the thunder. They're incredible with a bright future but nobody wants to be wrong about there picks. And the thunder going home early is a really safe pick. I can pretty much guarantee they barely get through Sacramento and don't get past the 2nd round

If the thunder don’t make it to the western finals it means they’ve choked. Don’t get this twisted. They DONT play inexperienced ball. They have the second best player this year. The best coach. And one of the better second options in the league. These takes from the national media have no relevance to the reality of what this thunder team is capable of. The thunder outplayed almost every team in every aspect of the game without being a good rebounding team. They earned the 1st seed and deserve some recognition for this. It’s historic what they’re doing in OKC.
