Sideways drift meets straight-line speed runs with the Stinger from FTX. With hard drift boots included alongside sticky soft treaded rubber tyres, you can literally decide on the fly how and where you want to run your Stinger.
With a wide aero inspired wide moulded main chassis featuring no screw head, this smooth finish, coupled with a rear diffuser provides stability at speed. Shaft driven with sealed, geared front and rear differentials feature metal gears throughout for maximum durability. The modular radio tray neatly houses a 15kg Etronix metal geared steering servo and Hobbywing brushless 60A esc and 3300KV motor, powered by a Voltz 2S 2500mAH Lipo battery.
Oil filled shock absorbers, anti-roll bars and adjustable double wishbone suspension lets you tweak to suit your settings and tyre choice; either treaded rubber tyres for street racing, featuring 25mm wide front and 30mm wide rear for better stability at high speed or hard plastic boots on 6-spoke wheels for sideways drift driving.
The Stinger is topped off with a moody muscle car body that features moulded front grill and light buckets front and rear housing a multifunction LED light set.

I have one of these and have been having a lot of fun with it. The gyro was reversed from the factory so needed to be reset to work properly. I would say it’s worth checking the screw on the servo horn as this came loose on mine and stripped the teeth so have a replacement on order. I’ve also scrubbed through a set of the rubber tyres in about 4 packs (2S) so if you like your drifting then factor that in but overall what a car it looks great and is really nippy and overall loads of fun. Agree it’s money well spent and all you need to get it going out of the box is a set of AA’s. I would like to see a video of the before and after if the included Anti roll bars to see what a difference, if any, that makes.

This car really surprised us. For a 2s, it's quick! May need to go's 3s just for the camera! Not to forget how smooth it is! 100% worth every penny! It done plenty of number 11's 😁

Yeah! The flip was down to the grip! It's so nimble. To be honest, it didn't cause any damage, just a light scuff on the edge of the roof, bearly noticeable. There's more content on its way with this!

Hi, thank you for your message! We really appreciate your support! We are in two minds about the gorgon as its a entry level platform. To get it slightly exciting, you need to put a brushless motor in it and run it on a lipo to really wake it up! As none of our videos are sponsored, and we pay for all our rc cars, we are in two minds. Should we invest in one or not. How much content can it create other than the initial run. We will have a better idea later this week if we are going to purchase one. If viewers want to see it, then we will do it. Let's see how many people want it on the channel. We have a fair amount of new rc's we have purchased! Stay tuned!

@@thercstore. That's a good and difficult question. Personally I like seeing new rc cars being talked about and then driven, which you are already doing (and very well). I particularly like the warmth and smiles of your videos, rc hobby is fun and I pick that up from watching so please keep that up. Maybe the odd non car review video dedicated to rc car maintenance and what spares or options are good to use would be wicked. I love rc but know very little about setting them up properly. Recently I bought a slash vxl and straight out of the box the rear of the car is almost sitting on the ground which doesn't look right so am unsure if the shocks/truck is meant to do that, or did mine arrive busted. Again, this is just my opinion/suggestion that an off video about how to setup your rc or guide to amazing parts that could be fitted I would personally find very useful as have no real life friends who are into rc who could help me etc. Thanks again for your brill videos and keep it up. Excellent running video and previous unboxing. I was thinking of getting one. But this video has really sold it to me. Having watched a few videos on the HNR H9802 I get the feeling there maybe some problems with the tyres ballooning and hitting the chassis. But as your video proves there is nothing wrong with the FTX. So I've gone for a UK FTX supplier. Thanks again. Subscribed.

Is it worth taking this machine or what would be better at this price? Is this car better than the previous flying fish? Does it drift well or is there a better option for this price?

We have not used a flying fish, if its a quick out the box street car, you're after that handles and drifts. This is perfect 👌🏽 If you want something just for drifting, look at an MST RMX. For the money, this is a perfect all-around car!

I've not tried the flying fish version! But this is an epic car! If you want something aimed at pure drifting, check out the MST RMX great entry-level drift car.

Personally, I'm happy with the FTX STINGER as it handles amazing. However, this 4wd. The RST RMX is aimed at drifting, RWD, and motor over the rear axles. They turning angle is much greater. However, it lacks speed in comparison. It's a personal choice!

What's your thoughts on the car? We thought it's amazing! In regards to tyres, hpi do x-pattern radial tire, d compound item number # 4790 But if you want to do speed runs and want something that will take the 50 mph plus and not fussed about looks, then Schumacher racing does some speed wheel and tyre combo. Part #JR-34RY A34 OUTDOOR SPEC HOPE THIS HELPS.

not tough to beat anymore for the money with the even bigger 8th scale maverick FLUX R muscle car with a centre differential now for £224 🤣 . For my 10 scale RC cars i purchased a total of 4 🤣 of the more expensive slightly larger bodied kyosho 1969 chevrolet camaro Z28 VE , for its absolutely stunning beautiful looks , the thicker wider larger wheels , has more available wheel arch clearance , and also capable of upto 40 mph on 2S ( on a good strong performance lipo ) . You can also purchase the absolutely excellent 14th scale 360mm long LC RACING EMB-RA RALLY CAR with it's realy thick and strong white pearlescent body shell , which is also an absolute steal for the money , which i also have purchased a total of 4 of also 🤣 . I like to have a possible back up car , a possible shelf queen , and a future unboxed classic having some valuable collectable worth in the future 🤣 .

What tires will work with this car and not balloon and hit the body and frame..? Its okay up to about 30mph,but add 3s and car and tires are horrible for this...thanks

That's a common issue. You may need to trim your rear diffuser slightly. In terms of tyres, I tried some outdoor Schumacher slicks. They didn't balloon as much. However, at 55mph, the still balloon. Other options you have are foams. I've not tried them myself yet! But I have seen them in action, and they work.

Never ran foam...so they don't balloon at all?i heard also rhalarro wheels off 787 mazda might be good...i just am not sure..it is a nice car..thanks for your input..

@cyrusshellard3905 I used a Gens ACE bashing series battery. However, using a 3s battery, you will get some decent gains regardless. The car comes on a deans connector, so you will need to change this or use an adapter unless you get a 3s on deans. C rating will make a difference, but then it all comes down to budget, etc. The lowest c rating I would buy is 35c, but you will get a better continued burst of power with a higher C rating. Hope this helps.
