In what is now also the home of the Museo Frida Kahlo headed by Perla Labarthe, here Circe Henestrosa - Fashion Curator specialized in Frida Kahlo and Mexican savoir-faire - discusses with Maria Grazia Chiuri how the artist's distinctive wardrobe, incorporating traditional clothing from across Mexico, was a key part of the construction of her identity, both concealing and revealing the person within.

Frida Kahlo has always been one of my favorite Mexican Woman Artist. Was so happy when Dior expressed in their latest Mexico Inspired collection and choose to draw from her into the designs. Dior always does these amazing collaborations with regional artisans and Mexico is very rich in its artisan culture!

As much as i love Frida we share lots of things in common and as much as i love Dior ( named after him /also a designer ) it saddens me deeply that they are using fridas name and talent after her death ! Why didn't they dress her when she was alive like maria felix did when she was alive. During fridas lifetime she struggled as an artist and person. And now everyone wants to hop on the frida wagon 😓😭😭. At the expense of her struggles ..como dice el dicho "nadie save para quien trabaja"

Frida Kahlo is an icon and so wonderful to see this pairing with Dior❤️❤️. Just heard to my shock & disgust that Megan Markle might be their new face/ Brand. What a bad decision and they will pay for it dearly. They will lose my respect or support of the Dior brand, products and legacy if they do team up. What a marketing disaster!!
