How Fun is the Devil's Backbone Singletrack? | Sprocket Girl Women's Mountain Biking

Күн бұрынThe Devil's Backbone trail near Loveland, CO, is a 13-mile exposed singletrack trail with a variety of different riding surfaces: from off-camber rocky sections, to climbs and descents on loose shale, to flowy packed berms. Make sure you bring enough water and avoid going mid-day - there is no shade on this trail!

The new chest mount has your knees up in the frame. No one else has that and it gives your video real immersive sort of feel. Thanks for the new cam I couldn't watch the old stuff and I think your commentary is more than half the show. Keep up the good work on keeping us stoked in these weird times.

I love this video. The voice of reason (regarding why we bike) while biking. A good reminder of why we do it, as I am in the middle of similar doubts and feeling like I'm backtracking in terms of energy and stamina (thanks to not being able to ride as much this time of year). Good ride. Like the camera tilted up slightly more to see farther ahead. Like to see the handle bars some. It looks like later in the video the camera was pointed up more. Always learning! Keep at it

SG, great video! You were literally in our backyard as we live about a mile as the crow flies from the trailhead. Riding that trail is my version of cyclocross. 😀 I too am only riding the trails once a week but am improving using my smart trainer 4 days a week following a plan. Several other good trail systems very close, so hope you guys return.

So cool! Yes, we really enjoyed Devil's Backbone - you just have to go early (or late) during the summer. We'll definitely have to come back to the Loveland area. Nice job with the trainer!

Great ride and commentary, you killed it! Does that trail connect with the blue sky trail from Horsetooth do you know? I'm an old guy just starting this at 74 (still feel young though) is your bike a full suspension, I could not tell when you rode by. Maybe I'll see you out on the trail one day, no falling though!

Nice ride. Later in the video you got the camera angle spot on. Are your bars off center? Looks like it and it was making me a little crazy!

Thanks! And no, they're centered - it just looks like that because there's a white line to the left of the center. Just the way those Specialized handlebars are branded.

There are some tricky sections on that trail for sure! Not sure which waterfall you're referring to, but I definitely had to walk a few parts...

what tires are you using? Im about to buy myself a Stumpjumper, not sure how reliable its to have their stock tires while I wait for this pandemic to end,

I'm riding 2.5'' Maxxis tires: the Minion DHF in the front and the Aggressor in the rear. You can check out my video all about my thoughts on them...

Sometimes I like non-gimbal footage if the camera does have some stabilization. I think you get a better idea of the texture of the trail. Feels more like being there in person.
