Was listening to the podcast so i came here to see what types of exercises these guys do. They said on the podcast that if they trained Bolt he would have been even faster. What a bunch of ridiculous bullshit.

They have unproven theories and go against what’s been shown to work. Pass. Weight lifting if done correctly is one of the safest intense physical activities someone can engage in. Yeah if someone is trying to keep increasing loads on the bar past where there natural plateau is they will probably get injured. That has nothing to do with weight lifting itself being dangerous. That’s like saying you shouldn’t drive because some people have driven 120 mph and gotten killed. No you should drive, you just don’t speed.

I like mixing every discipline out there together, but in case people hadn't thought about it, a floor press is functional where a bench press is noy yet a bench press fills in a lot of gaps of weaknesses that a floor press cannot
@ericmalitz
@ericmalitz 4 ай бұрын
A “floor press”? It’s a limited range bench press. Why would you limit the range trained even more than an ordinary bench press does?
@drip369
@drip369 4 ай бұрын
@@ericmalitz Well I said to train both as it was an example, but if you've ever wrestled, you are not going to be able to get your elbows below the ground with your feet below the ground but you certainly can produce a lot of force in that range of motion. It's not one you're going to overload but it's definitely one that you can use for speed training. Again I said to train both because if you can get value from exposing your body to heavier weights with a box squat and translate it to a much faster full range of motion squat, why wouldn't you train both? It's like how doing a push press gets you an overload on the eccentric portion and over time will give you a much stronger strict press
@drip369

@@ericmalitz also if you think about it, even the standard barbell bench press is a limited range of motion, you would get more out of a swiss bar in that regard

Ya I mean, why not have the technology to have give anyone the accessibility to be able to build a solid frame and exercise effectively . Let’s cater to only the genetically gifted and revolve exercise around them. If they can’t do it they’re weak and need load management , oh wait that’s where we are at.
@Arturo_Fonseca

@@ampjs1 Yeah, uhm we do have the technology. And FP uses most of it, like kettle bells, keiser machines, pulleys, foam rollers, etc, lol.

@@ampjs1 Human structure and gait cycle. You mean motion capture. What about it? The point about FP pulley (cheap knock off to the Keiser system he used to use which is far superior because of it's pneumatic constant resistance that is proven to lower loads through joints at the initiation phase), and kettlebells is the claim that FP makes that it uses mostly natural training whilst using modern technology. A big joke.
@ampjs1

@@PonyBoy10 FP is the only system I know of changing a human structure or gait cycle significantly, show me another. A very good skills coach maybe able to improve someone’s movement in their specific sport, FP does this on a more fundamental level on Regular basis all over the globe. Do you deny this?

Wow! So flip flops promote the proper biomechanics of the foot and help us improve function? I had no clue. So the windlass effect and tie bar mechanism are intact as well? Thanks Functional Patterns! 😬

Depends if there are no supports. If it doesn't, no difference being barefoot.
@drip369
@drip369 4 ай бұрын
Flip flops do not, they are bad for the feet unless you can find a sandal that has a strap that goes around your heel because squeezing your toes together while trying to walk to hold on to the sandal is bad for your feet. It does not promote complete function like barefoot shoot us. I sure hope you were joking around otherwise take the PSA

Amps in the comments says this below. His thinking is also indicative of how most people who have joined the FP religion think. Hint: it's pretty low quality thinking. "you are naive about how the world works, there is no one without bias. Many non-fp trainers try (research) FP and stick with it and get results. There are 1000s or 10000s of case studies at this point, trainers and non trainers. I do FO and don’t train people, I’ve gotten paid 0 dollars from Fp, trainers are independent contractors. How is this not independent research?" Tell us you don't know what research and what independent researchers are without telling us Amps. Remember, science is bad. Only Naudi knows what you need to know. Don't deviate or you'll get kicked out of the cult.

The fact that Naudi send this dudes who I assume are the best in their field have such a weak response in their mission makes me doubt a ton, why would Naudi send others guys to explain his methods in such a big platform like Mike’s, I don’t know some thing makes sense but the lack of confidence and knowledge of this guys is so off putting 🤦🏾‍♂️🤣 if you are so controversial and call out everyone in the industry you should be really strong on your own points

Damn the comments on this one are…yeahhhh (a lot of meat heads I see lol.) These guys seem to have their own way of doing things or thinking about training, and if it works for some then hey it works; probably seems strange to others bc others are capable of hard traditional weight training. But for someone whose goal is to just get moving (without debilitating pain), I don’t see what the problem is (unless someone can point it out to me). It’s still interesting to learn from them and all of Mark’s other guests’ videos as well.

Except these two crap on every other exercise modality and claim (with zero evidence) thst their method is the best and only valid way to train. Then you hear the reasons why these two started FP and it sounds like a lot of backwards rationalization to justify their likely crappy training history and lack of general knowledge about lifting and training in general. It sounds and looks like a load of steaming bs, because at the end of the day, it is.
