Hoyo phasing Venti out was so obvious in version 2. There was absolutely NO reason for specters to resist crowd control except for pushing players to stop using Venti.

Till this day Venti still dosen't have his 2nd story quest.

I always say that 2.0 was the version the devs tried to indirectly nerf certain characters and all failed except for Venti

I think a slept on problem was that Venti seems like a byproduct of an old design direction for bow users. I feel like they had intended to actually put gameplay in to support aiming and weak-points, but dropped it really early on and never revisited characters that had passives relating to those mechanics.

As a big Venti fan, I hope he gets some sort of addition eventually. He is easily one of the most mysterious (playable) characters in the game, and it'd be reallllly dissapointing to have him stay the same the whole time if we get more lore of him

Venti not being able to move larger enemies at all is such an intentional nerf to his kit to sell Kazuha.

In the CBT version of Genshin Impact, Venti's burst actually had a literal black hole sucking enemies towards it. Looked absolutely stunning.

Venti was my first ever 5 star and I have never regretted pulling him. He's helped me through every region of Teyvat and is still a part of my main team. He might not be meta, but I still love him ❤

Gotta say, recently I started using Venti again - Im farming artifacts for wanderer, and a team wanderer furina Venti Bennett works wonders.

I got lucky and got Kazuha after not even playing the game for three months (during his rerun in 2022) and yet I STILL pulled for Venti, when he got a rerun, simply because I love our Anemo Archon so much. I think GI really is a game, in which you can pull/build/play any unit you love and you will still be totally fine. One of the reasons why I love this game.

Venti it's still the only one to have constant suction on an ability. The closest to him is the event effects that make a tornado and CC most enemies

Honestly, would love an end game mode specifically for Venti and all other AOE dps in genshin. It would be just like abyss but this time the time limit is shorter and the number of enemies you kill would give a 3 star rating (0-20 1 star, 21-40 2 stars, and 41-infinity would be 3 stars). This game mode would cater to anemo cc, bloom teams, any aoe dps and freeze teams since it would have the common enemies. The one game I have in mind for reference is Splatoon's Salmon Run.

if I were gonna buff Venti, I would make the ult spawn to where he is; just make him dash back, similar to Mona's hold skill, Give Venti a special Charged Attack like: While aiming, favorable winds will accumulate on the arrowhead before the arrow is fired. Has different effects based on how long the energy has been charged: Charge Level 1: Fires off an wind arrow that deals Anemo DMG. Charge Level 2: Fires off an Echo Arrow that deals AoE Anemo DMG. opponents hit by the Echo arrow will explode dealing additional AoE DMG. then buff his hold skill, making the casting faster, like around the same speed as Zhongli's hold skill and give an extra effect like: When held, Venti Gains the Freeing ballad effect, which will decrease the Echo Arrow's charging time by 70%, grants stagger resistance and allows Venti to attack while gliding. Venti continuously loses stamina while in this state and performing Plunging Attacks will slam Venti to the ground dealing AoE Anemo DMG, give stamina and cancel the effect. Give Venti a unique animation where the glider flaps like wings. His A1 passive is now just in his base kit, and replace it with: Every time Venti hits an opponent with an Echo arrow, reduce the ultimate timer by 5% for every enemy hit, maxing at 60% reduction. my reasoning for the buffs is that 1. make him a quick swap character that is not just one button (but it is still a viable option) 2. 100% uptime (technically) 3. make the Animo resonance synergize with him 4. makes his Constellations make more sense 5. allows the option of DPS 6. And makes him the best character for applying Swirl TLDR: Better placement for ult, reworked skill that allows Venti to shoot while gliding, and special arrows that decrease ult cooldown. He would still be #1 for crowd control but no longer utterly useless with heavy opponents.

In short, Hoyo screwed venti over by making every creature immune to his ability 😥

I've been a Venti main for ages and I'm honestly just really mad about the way Hoyoverse treats him. Like damn no second story quest, basically zero new permanent appearances since 1.0 AND the worst kit out of all the archons. Even worse with the fact that whenever he does appear in events they just dumb him down to "haha hes drunk". Justice for my boy please😔

If a character gets released that can consistently put out the same amount of stagger as Klee's CAs, but in AoE, Venti might become good again. There's too many enemies in this game that don't get picked up by Venti not because they're too heavy, but because they have some amount of interruption resistance. If you have Klee and Venti, I recommend going around overworld and trying out which enemies can be picked up by Venti's burst, you might be surprised

He's honestly a S tier for me just because he's so good in domains, exploration, and floors 9-11 in spiral abyss. The fact that people say he's not good just because of floor 12 of spiral abyss is so tone deaf. He's very fun and very easy to use and build.

Anyone also hear The Seven and have a think of The Boys? Also Venti has great ER, can battery other characters through his passive , CC, and decent AOE.

An easy buff I think hoyo can give Venti atp is to just release Barbatos as a playble unit. Either implement a way for Venti to switch between "Venti" and "Barbatos" or create a seperate variant since Venti is just a mask Barbatos wears. Even the other archons don't refer to him as Barbatos, they refer to him as Venti unlike Zhongli's "about Morax", Ei's "about Baal" or even Nahida's "about Buer". The other archons will address eachother by their demon names but no one addresses Venti by his.. that's weird. In lore, it was stated he's the original wielder of the Skyward Atlas and the Skyward Atlas' description states only he wields the power of the thousand winds. Barbatos as a playable unit would be a subdps/dps character where he wields his catalyst. (His silhouette is also in the pages of The Lost Prayers of Sacred Winds when it opens up SO MAKE HIM A CATALYST 😭) For his skill, tapping will summon wind spirits or spirits of the thousand winds to do coordinated attacks and holding the button makes him extend out his wings and take flight while simultaneously summoning wind spirits. (He canonically has wings why doesn't he use it 😭) When he bursts he creates a field of anemo that makes it so sword, polearms and claymore users will be able to swirl with each hit. In the field it also heals allies and increase their attack speed OR reduces their cooldowns. (I imagine during his fight with Decarabian he did something similar to the Rebellion since they were a bunch of mortals its weird that they were still able to overpower Decarabian in the end.)

Funnily enough, just yesterday I needed an archer for an overworld puzzle and used Venti. It was nostalgic to use him again! I ran around as him for a while just because I missed his swishy cape and little beret. 🥺😭

To be fair many things have been overlooked about venti due to it's groupping capabilities. For exemple, one thing that no one really explored is the aggravate potential of his burst. Both electro tics and swirls can be boosted by aggravate, knowing that he can at least get 3 of each each burst it's damage ramps up really really quickly. To give you an idea I did part 1 of abyss 12-1 without a single ventiable ennemy with venti fischl kazuha and tighnari and it was faster than a classic tighnari fischl nahida beidou! To be fair it is true that I have a c6 venti with skyward harp (4 years of being unlucky as f2p btw xD) but his constellations aren't that important anyways. Except maybe C6 for exactly aggravate stuff. And yes I am extremely biased toward venti but playing him really is a skill check when the chambers are non ventiable and it makes the game really enjoyable to the point that I prefer playing non ventiable chambers with venti rather than ventiable ones. The reason why Venti is not played as much as we before, was because Sumeru and Fontaine had introduced enemies who couldn't be pulled by his burst, and because you need so much ER. Compared to Kazuha, whose skill can already do what Venti's burst purpose does.

They should pull a danheng IL with venti and give us an updated venti unit with his second story quest (COPIUM)

The fall of Venti and the rise of Kazuha.

Despite him being the first 5 star character, venti's second archon quest hasn't arrived till now... Even though he's quite weak with the arrival of Kazuha, i think he's hiding his true power and motives from all. I think he'd help the primordial one against us but he needs us for something crucial that's why he gave his blessing. You can see this in game also as most of the time when were in lifa and death situation, always Anemo characters are those who save us out of it. That's why i think hoyo isn't giving his second archon quest as he has some bigger plans going on behind us . Better watch out for him.

Im a day one player, i never picked Kazuha and im very happy with Venti. Hes VV always works, he still can move even big freezed mobs. He can pull lectors together. And prolonged off field swirls helps even on bosses. He is with me in 70% of abysses.

I‘m not a day one player but ever since I got him, I build him as a main dps. He recently made 100k+ with his updraft and I’m not ashamed of the time that took me to farm for him :3

I really wish they'd rework him to be on par with the other archons (or even just Kazuha and Xianyun) so it wouldn't feel miserable to play my favorite character outside of his one increasingly narrow niche. Double down on the battery or debuffs, constellations that raise his weight limit, tweaking animations so he's at least more fluid in exploration... something so he's at least an option. 💀

To add on that, when was the last time Hoyo introduced an anemo character with a decently strong CC? To this day, Sucrose, Venti and Kazuha are the only anemo characters able to consistently crowd control enemies. Heizou's and Faruzan's aren't strong enough and they serve as a decent bonus rather than an integral ability. I think Hoyo really doesn't want players to abuse this mechanic anymore. Honestly, it is a braindead easy mechanic to abuse. I used to main this team: Diona for cryo application and EM buff and the shield and heals were nice bonuses, then comes Sucrose, Kazuha and Venti all full EM build but with the VV set. Even with the VV set which is bad in this team, they used to kill everything with button mashing. No dodging, no running nothing. Just spam skill and burst and watch the enemies never hit the ground. It was tons of fun!

Who could have predicted that out of all the characters from Mondstadt only 4☆'s would stand the test if time? Bennet, FIschl, Succrose, even Noelle have all remained good and gotten better while the 5☆'s fell off. Shoutout to Diluc who did get a buff eventually. But Raiden is good? Not really. At C0 she can't DPS, a HB trigger Kuki is better and no party will slot her in only for the energy charge. I've seen many argue the reason we never got another CC after Kazuha is that Mihoyo knows if they add more Venti will be even more useless.

I dunno man, Venti is still a beast. My burning-swirl team is awesome with him, Wanderer, Tighnari and Father. Even without this team, he is still one of my best characters 💚🩵

Venti reminds me so much of herta Powerful beings that are so subpar in gameplay but lives up to their titles in 1 niche. we need an endgame mode where venti can shine like what they did with herta and purefiction

I mean they could make the targeting of venti's ult better. Like the ult would be place where it will affect the most amount of enemies not the closest. Maybe add a bit of defense shred or decrease stamina consumption on all party member for the during of venti's ult's.

Venti really needs a complete kit overhaul. Especially his passives and area of effect for skill needs to change. He needs to be better than kazuha

archons have this prestige of being amazing at what they do, if not the best. they just need to make venti exclusively able to gather all enemies, including the heavy enemies that other groupers can't suck in - and make its duration about as long as zhongli's shield, nahida's mark, raiden's coordinated atk, or furina's summons. a very straightforward but much needed improvement for the anemo archon. and no, venti wont become "too op/broken" with this change I'm suggesting as this will only be a suction effect on heavy enemies, not a hard cc that prevents them from doing anything like on small enemies. heavy enemies would still be able to perform their attacks while in that vacuum so the player would still need to keep in mind that they can still get hit. kairagis are still able to dash or jump out(same goes for the big churls). ruin guards and drakes can still use their ranged attacks. mirror maidens and fatui operatives can still teleport out. elite eremites are still able to use their ranged attacks and summons, etc.

Venti is so good in what he does that HYV have to powercrept him by heavier enemies

If Venti was released today, his E would have two charges, his Q would be the size of Kazuha Slash while also raising EM. It would also have nearly 100% uptime. So he'd be an EM buffer, VV shredder and crowd control master. You can use him for reactions too because you can basically have 100% uptime with whatever element you've swirled. And to make it extra overpowered, Q would have a holdable version where it travels with the active party member instead of being stationary.

Grouping and displacement isn't the only way to ensure your attacks hit a lot of enemies at once, it kind of obvious but positioning and manipulating enemy movement is important too.

No matter the combat end of things, I still will always find him useful for exploration. The fact that his updraft lasts for a while is something I find quite useful.

I bet if they release Venti after Zhongli, he would have been better. They would probably change some things with Ventis kit before release it him, that is if Zhongli got buffed.

Honestly Zhongli is kinda downrated too. There are just still many players who don't feel confident to run shieldless party or weaker shield than him so his usage rate is still high. Thoma, Layla, Kirara, and Baizhu will act like Kazuha to Venti with their other kits despite they have weaker shield and give their elements aura. You need Geo shield breakers? Noelle is packaged into both Geo and Claymore users to break shield faster than Zhongli. There will be characters you barely will be used but when the situation calls it you will need them or else make the floor harder. 11-1 needs Venti, Geo shield needs Noelle, and Zhongli basically will solve your problem if you keep getting knockback or airbone.

7:25 - This is actually false. There are gradations to Venti's effectiveness, it's not just yes/no. For instance, there are some enemies that can't be ragdolled, but can be dragged for grouping. There are other enemies that can't normally be dragged, but can if you freeze them/break their poise.

I hope they somewhat rework his kit. Make it more powerful, or more future proof. If he was simply able to drag and suspend heavy enemies as if they were light enemies that might be all that’s needed. He’s an archon, and compared to the other archons, his usage in abyss is just abysmal.

I've been actively playing the game since 2020, and after almost four years, his character design has finally grown on me completely. I'm eagerly waiting for his rerun banner, no matter what! 😤

Venti took the downfall because he was the strongest. Like if things continued the same way venti will be too strong to powercreep and there will be no need to pull for future characters. Since hoyoverse can't nerf a character directly, they choose the other way around.

I feel like Venti's situation right now is really accurate! In lore, he lets the people do whatever they want and only steps in when his help is needed which strongly reflects how he's 0-100! He either doesn't help much and let the people have freedom or be a really strong protector! I'm a Venti main and though it sucks to have him like this, I'm actually quite happy that this is his situation as a playable character.

I started playing after Kazuha was released and every video I watched people picked Kazuha over Venti. I have never thought of pulling Venti. Heck even made my list of "Characters I won't pull." - But then I got to play a certain team on a friend's account. Arlecchino, Albedo, Ganyu, Venti. (Albedo because the Whimsy domain needs Geo, and he had that team on, and I just used that team), and boy oh boy even though Venti isn't really good in that domain, I really started appreciating Burst DPS Ganyu and Venti with Arlecchino. I might pull Venti during the 5.0 archon rerun spree if the other character isn't too compelling.

It's unfortunate because over the 3 years I've played genshin, the most fun I've had was playing Venti in Freeze teams. Nowadays that's something I can't experience anymore since overworld mobs are too squishy and the abyss ones can't be cc'd or can't be frozen and have a high dps check

this is why i have 2 accounts. I usually try to grab every other 5 star I don't use on my main or thats not "meta". It's pretty fun using him with hyperbloom teams, gathering a mob for itto to slice & dice, or even throwing down albedo's skill to get some extra damage. What's really sad is building a hypercarry Venti team is pretty unrealistic with his fixed burst.

Either: 1. reintroduce a sh*t ton of new strong but crowd controllable enemies in natlan, snezhnaya and khanri'ah 2. rip off honkai star rail's pure fiction mode and add a new endgame with hordes of weak enemies and win conditions around CC and AOE 3.5:buff him (they'll never do that) 3.give venti a secend form (like the traveler in genshin or trailblazer, march 7th or imbabitor lune dan heng from star rail) , his lore accurate weapon isn't even the bow, it's the skyward atlas catalyst+ the lyre he has so give us a Barbados form as a catalyst user with different move sets In lore zhongli also uses a spear , Ei uses both a sword and a spear so , nahida/rukedavata use(s/ed) a catalyst/nothing so all archons have lore accurate weapons exept venti (he also used the skyward pride bow but it's not his main lore weapon)

Imagine they introduce a boss like the Deacons of The Deep from DS3, a single boss with many small and lightweight bodies. The Venti banner becomes the #1 most pulled for during that period

Hoping for a HUGE venti buff after his 2nd story quest (hopefully) since he is one of the original seven and should be more powerful than Kazuha lore wise

I still use him rather often in freeze, specifically since even if they are heavy, if they can't move, he will still somewhat pull them and deal dmg. Plus he helps ALOT against lectors.

when thinking about venti's character and story, this whole situational combat-use is actually really meta.

I'm still going to C6 him tho. Wished on every banner so far (and lost all of them) so I'm "only" C4. I still use Venti a lot, and my go to team is either Kaeya freeze or glass canon Wanderer with Faruzan and Bennett. Who needs a shielder if everything is dead.

I am hearing rumour about characters level cap will be raised from 90 to 100. I hope Hoyoverse will take the opportunity and do justice to Venti by giving him some useful passive or some support ability in combat.

Venti is still useful for speeding through floor 9 to 11; sometimes I also use Venti/Rosaria/Ganyu/Sucrose (2x anemo/cryo aoe) for combat events where there's a cryo buff. Zhongli is kinda bad to play imo, he puts a pillar that gets in the way, and his cast time takes too long that the mobs get free hits, teleport away (the new anemo/bond_of_life fatui agent), shield up (remember the cryo cicin mage? also husks), or freeze/slow you (cryo/hydro primo_geovishap/abyss_heralds). I've been a Zhongli main since his first banner (f2p), and every abyss starting from 3years ago was barely squeezing by for 36stars. If it wasn't for hyperbloom and some Furina investment to bring back vaporize, I would've fallen off. I could even see Kazuha national falling off (in general) from it's subpar performance in the Saurian Shaped Search event (national can't get plat at all, but it was so easy for Neuvillette/Arlecchino(c0) hyper that literally everyone was doing it with 20-30sec to spare).

I think a tiny "buff" they can give him coukd be to make his burst a taunt. Would solve some of the issues with heavy non-biss enemies

I always use him in abyss F11 cuz of the monolith defense. I don't regret pulling him for sure. Also he completes the Archon collection so yeah.

Ventis c1 should have just allowed him to create a windcurrent with a tap with a maximum of 1 or two on field at a time. He would be way more valuable as a plumge enabler if you didnt have to waste your whole rotation wating for him to muster up the power to create one then have him auto fly and the plunge himself down.

As long as Floor 11 remains, Venti will always have a throne 😅

Venti is still really good. Used him plenty last few abyss cycles. Even if he cant full pull ebemies into the air he can group them enough for other characters to be able to burst them down. Plus still provides all the buffs
