Gostei muito do vídeo e a explicação, mas a batida dele me lembra muito mais Bossa Nova do que Samba de fato, imagino que seja porque fora do Brasil a galera ouça Bossa e teve todo aquele lamce da Bossa e a galera do Jazz e tec... e não Samba mesmo.

As a Brazilian, I kinda feel like an impostor when it comes to samba or the cavaquinho. You know a lot, though. So, I'm very excited to be here learning it all with you! Thank you!

Hello master Christospher I watched your video about how to play Ukulele as Cavaquinho and I was thinking about it and the stroke that it makes me remember much more Bossa Nova than Samba played on Cavaquinho. I think that it is because Bossa Nova (artists) is more famous then Samba (artists) out of Brazil. I loved the video and explanation about however I was thinking about it. I don't know if you know brazilian artists that play cavaquinho and if you know Samba music as it is played at bars and parties here. Have a nice week

Yes yes! This first section is much more akin to bossa nova comping especially when played slow. Without the straight eighth note up strums and the left hand muting it has the much softer sound of bossa. In the second video next week we'll be adding in those other parts which will get it much closer to the samba sound that you're speaking of.
