I think his lore will proceed after introduction of either sandrone (horde of katherynes vs susbedos lol) or mica (currently there is no reason to return again to mondstadt other then expansion of alebdo lore/dornman port (north mondstat expansion)

I have long speculated that they were adding an instanced event area for winter, similar to how Golden Apple Archipelago is for the summer. It is now all but certain that the winter event won't be in Dragonspine, since they are giving Albedo early. And yeah... Hoyo had better not just act like Susbedo never happened or that was the end of it. ;)

imagine if albedo has the same kit BUT he’s dendro instead, he will easily become one of the most busted unit in the game

The other thing holding him back ironically is his bis weapon, since it’s an event weapon that a lot of people won’t have

But it makes him perfect for my best team - Xiao double Anemo/Geo.

Well it proably just be another different type of sheild if that was the case an take less type of damage I don’t think much would change. Dendro already has multiple reactions and cryo already has one extra cause of shattered damage “when a blunt attack destroys a frozen enemy dealing a bit more of physical damag.

It doesnt need to be. Its like the Yin to the Yang being Anemo. Both are supportive elements that needs other elements to perform reactions, like most. Archaic Petra and Viridescent Venerer behave the same way: 1. perform elemental reaction swirl/crystallize while equipped character is on field 2. shreds resistance or buffs dmg bonus of element involved. 3. However, crystallize can't just take place. The shard has to be collected so it reads the element that was used to create crystallize. Archaic Petra just needs the rework to involve multiple elemental dmg bonuses since it already needs an extra step to buff, and VV can shred multiple resistances; or remove the need for the archaic petra wielder to pick up the elemental shard for crystallize. Also, considering how weak crystallize shields are, it would be nice if crystallize shields can do an AoE explosion around the character respective to the element the shield is, scaling off of EM and DEF. It doesn't need a crit variable. Just a use for DEF for crystallize. Like 1.2x DEF * EM scaling of natural crystallize shield. It would make a good use for Gorou, and since Gorou absorbs elemental shards, it would be easy to buff elemental dmg bonus with him on Archaic and a good ER value.

Geo is basically a dead element. Forever fated to work on its own. Forever to be an antithesis to the synergistic reaction core mechanic of Genshin. Imagine an element where Elemental Mastery is a defunct stat for an element. Imagine an element that is compared to a non-element Physical. Seriously, i don’t know what Hoyoverse was thinking as they created and “fixed” Geo along the way. And Crystallize… ugh, what a badly designed reaction. So useless it’s a waste of a reaction in the game. Swirl is supposed to be Crystallize counterpart since Anemo & Geo are neutral elements. But man, Swirl is 10x more superior than Crystallize can hope to be.

They absolutely shouldve, its complete stupidity to not think that earth and PLANTS shouldnt react in an elemental game. Crystallize is just a shit reaction and needs to be overhauled anyways

I got him last year. He was not my first 5* but the first one I seriously invested in and he has not left my team since!

oh god, not to mention the freakin oceanid. i still remember the first time i tried to bring albedo to that fight. never again lmao

i’m glad i’m not the only one complaining about this. I have been telling this to Hoyoverse since the start of the game. geo constructs should not shatter easily. they are so sensitive to enemies’ hit-boxes. it’s unfair that every turret lietrally from other elements don’t have the casting restrictions of Geo constructs. mona’s hydro phantom, fischl’s oz, xiangling’s guoba, yae’s fox turrets, ganyu’s lotus, keqing’s stiletto, amber’s bunny, rosaria’s ice lance, kokomi’s jellyfish, etc. can be summoned anywhere regardless of terrain or enemy hitbox size and they won’t get destroyed. Whereas Ningguang’s screen, Zhongli’s pillar & Albedo’s often get easily destroyed upon casting. Geo constructs should be treated like that of Gorou’s General Banner where you can summon it without it getting destroyed around enemies’ hitboxes. i’m a geo main since the start of the game. i’ve stayed with it thinking it will improve. but with the arrival of dendro, having no geo + dendro reaction was my last hope vanished. geo is just so problematic: - problem with casting geo constructs - crystallize is so outdated & worthless - no relevant other reactions (no dendro + geo reaction - wasted opportunity) - no geo 5* unit in Standard Banner - no shield timer - no shield health bar - mono geo leaves you no choice but to go mono - geo characters are great because of their kit, not because of their element - archaic petra needs buff - crystallize shards picking up is an annoying mechanic - geo issues are “fixed” through characters. so if you don’t have that character, geo as an element is just bad. (example: gorou absorbing crystallize shards. such feature should have been implemented on Crystallize itself.) - geo: just a fancy Physical with yellow numbers - elemental mastery dead stat for geo never again will i wish or build another geo character until these major issues are fixed. even geo resonance can’t compensate for geo’s terrible design. and gawd i hope they don’t make a geo character who when picking up Crystallize shards will cause an AoE explosion. why? Because such feature should be implemented on Crystallize itself. Hoyoverse needs to stop fixing Geo’s problems through characters’ kits. they need to fix Geo itself and Crystallize.

@@froeloe I've lvl 90 of every single Geo character I have (except for Itto because, well, 50/50). I've dreamed about going 2 mono Geo teams, just to got my dream shattered. If Mihoyo wants us to go mono Geo, fine, but they should make mono Geo viable. . All these Abyss stuffs and mechanics that needs other Elements' involvement (and mostly Cryo, Pyro, Hydro - they are already strong and popular elements). . Pure strength and efforts aren't enough, almost 2 years of grinding and building characters all around just now to see my low investment full EM Shinobu + Dendro Traveler easily do 36 stars instead of my heavily invested Geo teams. . But it's okay tho, at least Dendro and Electro are my favorite, but now it's just one mono Geo team remains.

@@froeloe Albedo's geo constructs have been patched though. Right now, if you summon a geo construct under a ruin drake it will stay there instead of instantly shattering. And the geo constructs aren't as fragile anymore. It's not like the enemies will be hitting them. They'll be focused on hitting you instead

albedo wont proc on elementally shielded enemies lol. its still a counter synergy

I use Kuki instead of Zhongli... Not only she helped Cyno to gain energies, but she's also give a decent heals for the team. I've been getting Kuki non-stop when pulling for Cyno (from No Kuki to c4) and it's a blessing in disguise.

@@herondale1527 For me, she always gave Cyno full energy after every burst... As for her weapon, I gave her 3* Black Iron Sword with 2pcs gilded dreams and 2pcs blue Arte that give 80 EM (forgot the name 😅)

It does. Cyno hits often enough to trigger Albedo's Geo damage as much as the skill allows, and his burst can buff Cyno's EM for the first bit of his burst as well.

My main team is Xiao, Venti/Kazuha, Zhongli, Albedo double anemo and geo is my strongest team!!!

I doubt the Albedo one for a particular reason. (Spoilers) I mean, he's _synthetic_ life, and they play up the fact that he's made from chalk a lot in the story. He could never be dendro because that's natural life. He'd be the character who wished for a dendro vision but never got it. A for the Yun Jin theory, yeah, that makes a lot of sense honestly, and while her outfit colors don't look very "anemo" they sure as hecc don't look geo either. lol

I doubt Yunjin was meant to be anemo since her beta files leaked in late 2020 already showed her having a geo vision. The anemo theory was just from the Moonchase cinematic as a potential change from beta. As for Albedo, I think it makes sense he's geo considering his backstory and all the chalk theme from him and synthetic life. My own take on his kit having EM + Crystalize buffs at C6 is because I think back in the day, Hoyoverse alctually were aiming for Crystalize to be the main focus of geo characters, hence Archaic Petra, but after realising that Crystalize sucks compared to other reactions + the Zhongli buff, they probably decided to discard that original route, halt releasing geo characters for a while and then start to focus on the defense scaling unga-bunga.

One of my issues with him is that his flowers always seem to break super easily with bosses

Because archaic Petra doesn't work like that, it only gives the buff if ALBEDO is the one that picks the shield up, and even then, the buff will run out before cyno even gets midway through his burst when considering switch times and animation from cyno burst

@@holacom363 - Yes, I know that. But you can take advantage of it when Albedo's burst was the second to last thing in the rotation. The ultimate will generate the crystals, take it before switching to Cyno and ult. Honestly, duration is no different than having a VV on the team. But Albedo's skill lasts so long, you can literally switch to him, get the crystal, and switch again. Is very fast. I did some tests, and it turned out to be a really fun team.

@@holacom363 Thats the only big problem archaic petra has. Geo would be a sufficient supportive element if Archaic Petra can trigger its set effect without having to pick up the shard with the wielder. It would make it useful for mono elemental teams, dual element teams with geo as the second element, and aggravate teams since electro crystal shards are the only elements reacting to geo.

zhongli actually make me easier to run keqing + fischl aggravate, using kokomi just ruin aggravate dendro buff

@@salceds No a good enough reason or trade off imo. They all do big numbers plus get reactions. Geo doesn't get big enough numbers to offset the lack of interaction I humbly think.
