No GO3 's were hurt during the filming of this episode....they all survived! Here's the run down from my experience with the camera. I meant to include much of this in the video but totally forgot. I love the utility and the size of the camera and I will be using this from now on in my vlogs as its extremely handy for the hands free bit....Yada Yada... But there are some tips to get the shots looking as best as they can. 1. Shoot Vivid color, the sensor needs the color information, don't bother with flat, you wont be able to pull the saturation back from that burned in flat profile, this is true for most action cameras that aren't shooting 10 bit. 2. You must nail the white balance, best to keep in auto mode. If you shoot manual and are off on the white balance, you wont be able to recover color information will be clipped. Happened to me once and I learned the hard way. 3. This camera needs a TON of light for good color and for stabilization to work at its best. The camera will lower shutter speed to compensate for low light environments which is bad for stabilization, as this will come across as blurry footage and light streaks. I would not recommend ND filters for any situation with this camera, best to shoot with cranked shutter angle, it's okay you can always add motion blur in post. 4. Get Topaz video enhance A.I. or DaVinci resolve for the denoising / sharpening / upscaling. Both with run you about $250 dollars but they both are worth their weight and will work magic on many cameras to come-- most of the shots in here that were very clean looking I ran Topaz on them, and was amazed at how well it cleaned up artifacts, and the noise, its like magic. (PS: I was actually just getting ready to buy this. Glad I read this comment and saw the link. Happy to support this channel. Always makes me smile.)

Did you have any sort of cover for the lens. My One X2 scratched extraordinarily easily on my trip to Guinea and I’m in the middle of getting the lenses swapped. But I tend to not like the covers as the stitching gets difficult to work with:

@@MaxWildlifePhotographer So the lens actually has a is a thread on and removable lens cover, so even if the explosions had damaged it, i could have easily swap it out for a clear one or ND (not sure who makes them at this moment) . But none of the lens covers got damaged, WHICH IS SHOCKING.

I have watched many dozens of insta360 videos at this point and yours are by far the best by many orders of magnitude. The information is there in a fun way, and the editing is top notch. Your video on the Ace Pro focus problem hit the nail on the head, and no one else has put the Go 3 through its paces like you. Josh, you are one creative film maker. I have seen at least 5 other GO3 vids from all the big names and yours is the best. It is an action camera. Not everyone needs a rocket but sticking it to a MTB, a rally car or skydiving with it would have all these questions answered. Yes you deserve more $$ for this work.

The color science is the biggest sell here for me. I love the Go 2 but I always just chocked it up to a "just so I can have some videos" situation since it always seemed so hazy. But it looks like they got rid of that problem with the Go3! Looks even better in lower light too! Can't wait to order one to use as more than just a last resort cam! Fantastic video thanks for really putting the camera through some crazy durable paces! Super entertaining, informative, and 100% phenomenal storytelling!

This is by far the BEST CAMERA REVIEW I've ever seen... for ANY camera, Period! So entertaining, but in an truly informative way. Super cool that you're in Ohio. Your videos helped me get interested in filmmaking for real estate, which led me into getting my sUAS commercial license, then I loved flying so much I got my bachelor's degree studying sUAS. Dude you always deliver such incredibly crafted stories. It's a cool camera, but I wasn't even that interested in that. I was interested, however, in the shenanigans that I knew were bound to ensue based on your brand and even the Thumbnail. I wasn't disappointed! Thanks for doing your thing Josh.
