You should try to disable hardware accelerated gpu scheduling in display settings, i have rtx 4080, 5800x3d and have this stuttering, with hags off i have much less stutter, you should try it out.

Dx12 is actually the DX version that people think is not good but actually DX12 Ultimate is bad.

For some reason in towns my gpu quits working as hard to like 60% but idk why and it hurts my frames

Honestly my Proart 4080s, with a 7800x3d cpu, is running about similar fps (103-133) at 1440p, ultrawide. However, my cpu temp is around 52c and gpu is about 56-58c. Ultra settings.

My 4080 is magical at 4K. ... with i5 14600k and 6000 mhz 32gb ddr5. BUT... I Iock FPS at 60. That is key to avoiding stutters. If you really need VRR don't forget to have Vert Sync ON and Reflex or Latency set to ON... in the nVidia driver.

Sad to see the game stuttering. What happened? I remember playing it on the day it came out on my 1660 TI it was totally fine. Must be drivers!

Use Vulkan its much more stable and has less stutters compared to DX12.

@@AMGGpeople always say how good vulkan is in this game but it's always very similar performance for me whenever I've used it and it still stutters

@@BenchmarkBoy I initially been running and testing it on DX12 and I was having so much stutters then I asked my friend who works as a tester for rdr2 and he asked me why am I using DX12 when there's Vulkan, which he said is way more stable. So I made the switch and for me its been a better experience overall than DX12. (not that it completely elimiated all the stutters but its still less).

Really weird but try turning off gysync? I just got a 4080 super and it seems like it was causing constant frame time spikes for me. Turning off gysnc helped

Once you go down to 1080p rez maxed out puts more presure on the cpu than the gpu it's why you don't see much improvment in denser forest areas. Its no longer a gpu stress test, basicaly youre gpu is taking a nap now 😂

Gpu is still at 90%+ utilization, I wouldn’t say that’s taking a nap.

I highly recommend playing RDR2 on a 32:9 49" monitor with good motion handling. Using a 4080 super with setting close to max. Runs awesome. RDR2 scales very well with ultra wide.

It's because peeps whack everything to Ultra. Not necessary... V High is adequate... and leaves some headroom. I'm getting 100 fps minimum on a 4080 at 4K with a i5 14600k.

Sth should be wrong. I have 6800xt and 5600x. Playing with ultra settings at 4k and my average FPS is 63-64. Rtx 4080 should be at least 100 average FPS.

sounds like you're using fsr or you have the settings turned down. My 6800 xt with these settings was about 50-55. So this fps here is about right

Put water physics quality to max next time. That really tanks the FPS, but the water quality looks awesome on max.

@Crimsongz With a high end GPU like the 4080 Super, it is. When spending that much on a GPU, surely you would want to max out the settings and get all the eye candy you can.

@@jeevan1198 I have the same GPU and set the water physic in half. At max you lose like 20 fps and the input lag increase a lot. But we’re on PC so everyone can set their settings however they want.

4k is way Better looking just turn some settings a bit down, you wont notice it ingame i hit over 100fps Whit a 4080s 4k and 90% of the settings maxed out whit some tweaks
