Saw the Suns courtside in '92. Dan Majerle as 6'4" and Barkley as 6'6". I'd say they were about the same height.

Charles got robbed of MVP in '90. If anything he was more deserving of it that year than '93 which really MJ should won it again but I think the league didnt wanna give MJ 3 in a row for some reason. @@RandomPlaceHolderName He is just being humble, Duncan no doubt had a great career, coach and longevity, but if he was matched up one on one with Chuck in his prime he would have gotten dominated. It was like Bill Walton said, Barkley and Jordan do not play positions, they play basketball. Charles could shoot the mid range shot, could take it coast to coast and could post up on anyone. He gets knocked sometimes for his perimeter defense, but when you are one of the best offensive rebounders of all time you should get a pass. No better defense than not letting the other team get the ball.

I truly feel if Chuck wasn't a solid 25 ppg man and facilitator on offense, if he simply just wanted to rebound like a Rodman, he would have probably taken half of Dennis' rebounding titles. I know I'll get pushback on this, but my opinion. I honestly felt if he wanted to concentrate mostly on rebounding like Rodman or today like Andre Drummond, he wins several rebounding titles. Dennis was a great tipper, tapper. Chuck usually pulled it down 1st effort. He was that strong & cleared out that much space.

Bird's Celtics were amazing, it's amazing they weren't winning before Bird joined, even with Pistol Pete and Bob McAdoo on their roster. Sure, you could argue Cedric Maxwell was a great player, and that Bird didn't win a ring until he got McHale and Parish in as support. But Bird alone, as a rookie, made a 33 win difference for the Celtics, in spite of the team's formerly best players Pete and McAdoo leaving the team. Charles Barkley was a great player, and him joining the 76ers helped them go from 52W / 30L to 58W / 24L, but Barkley joined a better team than the one Bird joined and his '84 76ers weren't as good a team as Bird's '79 Celtics were. Relative to their competition and slightly different (5 years) eras, yes, but nonetheless. Bird had to do everything, everywhere, just as much as Charles, and arguably did it better. My personal appreciation for Barkley is his good humor and positive vibes, rather than everything else - while on the Dream Team, he ignored security, went out into "hostile" territory and made the entire world embrace and cheer for him and team USA. That's what makes me want Sir Charles on my all-time dream team. Alongside Larry Bird, of course.

Yessir had to comnent cause not many of us. Dominique wilkins was the reason i fell in love with the game at such a young age and played thru high school. The 1st game i watched was the iconic hawks celtics playoff game were Dominique and bird battled it out. My dad was celtic fan and says thats why i became a hawk fan and Dominique was my favorite player of all time i disagree there was so much more Dominique just amazed me with his dunks and fearlessness. While he is my favorite player ever barkley though was definitely the best in my opinion also all around player and unstoppable. Like i said theres not many of us cause back then it seemed like everyone jumped on jordan ban wagon. Which i never understood like they have with GSW last few years. First game i ever saw was hawks vs celtics in playoffs. Dominique vs bird it was a classic. Dominique became my favorite player and Ive been a Hawks fan ever since. Barkley rite up there also there were so many great players back then.

Don't sell that Phoenix roster short, they made it to the NBA finals going through the West. And don't under estimate the greatness of Kevin Johnson either, he was top tier PG from the time, and that roster was superior to Jordans Roster. At the end of the day Jordan was just better and more dominant. Since we are calling it as it is.

mullin needs his own video. one of the best all around offensive players ever. not as well known as he had a prime that only lasted around 5 years before getting hurt and having to take on a lesser role. he was elite though.

One of the underrated aspects of Malone was that he was a fantastic post-sealer -- probably the best of his era -- and off-ball player. Barkley's iso scoring from the post could, at times, turn into a black hole situation. With Malone, the team offense tended to flow more smoothly. I also think that we tend to forget how inconsistent Barkley could be, even in the playoffs. In the 95 playoffs for instance, he had one basket -- one -- over the course of seven fourth quarters against Houston in the second round. That likely cost Phoenix the series (as well as his injury in the second half of game 7).

The Malone vs Barkley debate is close and legitimate one. However. Charles can do one thing way more often than Karl could and that is create his own shot. Karl could not do that in half court game like Sir Charles could.

Aaron Cabbage l watched iverson live few occasions. i would say at his prime he was better than jordan. talent wise. lacking longevity and mental strength in the long run. if he only won that championship once perhaps he could have lasted at a higher level longer.

Jordan benefited in the 1990s by playing against teams with one superstar (except the Jazz) while his teammates were among the best ever at their jobs: Pippin (Top 50 player) Kerr (one of the best 3 point shooters ever), Rodman (second best defensive player ever behind Bill Russell) AND players who were great role players: Horace Grant (a top power forward in his day), Craig Hodges (outstanding shooter), Ron Harper (former great offensive player turned great defensive player).
