I really honestly miss these times man, used to sit on the ground and put my tv op against my bed to play and just chill on my ps4 playing squads and stuff all the time. Then World Cup came and I even made it to finals on Sunday twice, didn’t qualify ofc but then the real tournament came and I was just sitting there in the same spot with my coke and bag of chips both days in a row from 11 pm to 4:30 am as a 13y/o kid just being the most hyped ever for mongraal and mitr0, going to play inbetween games myself and just be on another level cus of the adrenaline and nowadays and I have such a nice setup and everything to play on and place decently high in tourneys and I’m happy with it but then watching these videos just hits different 😌

this is a very good analysis reiss. well done. world cup was nowhere near the best meta as it had things like wind turbines, combat shotguns, drum guns etc. the moment of bugha winning the world cup was performed excellently by the casters and etc but the win imo is slightly carried by the nostalgia behind it. if another world were to happen (hopefully next year ;) i do not think bugha would win but i have no doubt he would place in the top 20. However, this is an excelent recap and i highly recomend aspiring fortnite professionals to watch this video.

Have you done a "How good was Ninja Las Vegas"? Couldn't find anything and would be curious to watch your commentary years later. Seems like that was the big turning point of showing that content creators were far below a lot of players out there skill wise. Fortnite Fridays would never fly now but since content creators took up so much of the Fortnite sphere they were perceived as high level players.

Its too bad this will probably never happen again because epic has correlated hyper competitiveness with a drecresase in overall player numbers which is what they care about. They will continue to support competitive since the scene is now established and it is worth keeping well known pros around but it is unlikely a fortnite competitive event like this will ever happen again unless it is a 3rd party funding it.
