Spain and Iberia in general is not exactly a place you would associate with the Ancient Greeks but the influence they had left on this place is immense. They brought the use of coins as a currency, they brought olive trees and planted them here making Spain one of the largest olive oil producers up to this day as olives are not actually native to Iberia.
Most importantly the influence of their culture and mythology reached a lot further than their cities and colonies leaving a lasting impact on Spain. So who were these Greeks and what lead them to stray all the way from Anatolia to establish cities in Spain, how did they sustain these colonies and what impact had they left on the region?
