2 different incoming balls. 1 is coming at lower ankle, meaning ball more likely has more pace, hence less time, less take back and lower racket head height. 2nd ball in much higher hence ball more likely coming slower therefore more time to flatten the shot hence bigger take back and higher racket head. my 2 cents.

Great observation at 3:57 ! We are actually working on the same thing for my daughter’s FH stroke. Her take back is like that of Dimitrov’s old high loopy take back with the arm being almost straight on the drop - with racquet head somewhat facing forward… we want that racquet to point a bit more forward with elbow a little bit more bent and, straighten out that high loop (because it can cause being late to the ball) Small tiny details but it has been extremely difficult to make those changes. Seems like we fix one thing and something else will fall apart, it can definitely be frustrating. Thanks for the video!

to me it look like left Grigor is making top spin stroke and to archive this he pronates hand more in preparation phase and right Grigor is driving into the ball more ... technic is almost identical just different body angles due to the shot goal.

Compare both these videos with a similar Federer forehand - the differences are very subtle ..

Great explanation. Now it looks more like Jannik Sinners forhand.which is a lover compact swing to make him taking the ball on the rise also ? The point that tennis is becomming even more fast these days is great and makes it super facinating to watch .Bedst from Copenhagen Denmark.

do you think his old FH had more power due to the longer swing path, though?
@Playyourcourt

When set up properly and having time it likely had more power but if contact was late due to the larger swing path the power were be diminished. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

Which forehand backswing do you prefer for today's game and why: Delpo's or Ferrer¿?
@Playyourcourt
@Playyourcourt Жыл бұрын
Great question Sebastian. No doubt Delpo had one of the greatest forehands in the histroy of the game. With the really large loop he utilized I would say the Ferrer forehand is much more repeatable though for most players, especially recreational players.

But for today's game knowing that the game is getting faster and faster which forehand backswing would be more demand Delpo's or Ferrer; knowing that Ferrer's is smaller; knowing that Dimitrov's shorten it either

no more Baby Federer??? Did he really changed from straight elbow forehand to bent elbow forehand? Is it possible after a long carrier?

maybe he made the stroke smaller because his racket is bigger? similar to roger
@Playyourcourt

Definitely a possibility although most proffesional players are playing with significantly heavier racquets than the stock models from the onset of their careers. A heavier racquet does require a significantly more efficient stroke so that observation is spot on! Thanks for the feedback and for watching!
