We just allocate most of the raid time to heroic prog and once we run low we swap to normal to clear the raid. The better we get at the "easier heroics" the more time we'll have to prog the harder ones in later weeks. Plus the gear will help each week. I'm okay with a handful of bosses taking several weeks before we can kill them. It keeps the game challenging while still being able to clear one way or another every week.

My current guild is 9/13 H as a 10M, and I feel like it's in the perfect balance of difficulty. When we go into heroic progression, we know it's going to be that: progression. This is where a lot of the shift to current day cutting edge raiding came about, when progression was not a 3-5 pulls then kill. It turned into 3 hour wipe fests to then finally getting that dopamine hit of clearing the boss. But Cata is going to be the transition for people to decide am I a heroic player or a normal player. As heroic players have to be comfortable with wipes on end. Heroic players don't usually one-shot all the bosses the first try. Our Al'Akir kill took 15 attempts to get down, Conclave was over 23 wipes. There are many players who would rather have an easy win, and get normal gear than put in the work and struggle for their clears. But I enjoy the struggle, because I love that surge of relief when you finally get the kill here. Parses be damned now, it's about getting the kill. Also I'd say gear definitely helps. Yes you still have to do mechanics but not everything is one shot-esque mechanics. So having the extra stamina to act as a buffer for failures, and healers throughput being higher makes certain heroics more forgiving.

Other than there being three separate raids for T11, I think I'm generally pretty happy with the heroic / non - heroic difficulty split. I like that normal is really not that hard, so I can get my alt into a run without a ton of trouble and still expect to clear everything, but there is still a more difficult level I can work on with my guild in heroics. I've also definitely felt the progression of gear as a healer with heroics, and it feels pretty good / noticeable to get better gear.

cata raiding is supposed to be hard, that is why there is normal and heroic version of the raids, you don`t need to kill the bosses on heroic, and no its not too hard, its more rewarding being able to kill nef heroic in the end than steamrolling through all bosses like you do in sod

Sitting at 11/13 with my 10 man guild, and it's just perfect. We're all too busy in real life to keep up a 20 man mythic raiding guild, but we manage to come together 2 times a week and have a blast in heroic. Please don't suggest that it's "too hard", just because not everyone can clear it. Everyone can guy do normals, but the challenge is also there for everyone.

Fact they made HC raid so hard and dungeon HC so easy is weird. As someone who pugs the difficult HC sucks, I get many pug struggling normal even lol

Not sure if its even true that T11 has a lot of opportunities for bad apples to cause the group a lot of harm. I can only think of Frost orb on Ascendant Council Heroic and slicers on Sinestra. Also, players are not entitled to clearing the highest level of content or getting the best gear - this is exactly the reason why multiple difficulties were created in the first place. I've never heard of normal raiders on retail complaining about heroic or mythic being too difficult. They either choose to challenge themselves or accept they don't want to do it - both are valid.

My guild is progging some heroics rn. It would be nice if some bugs didnt exist still. Magmaw blowing up the melee with flame pillar for example.

My guild is in hard spot where normal raids are just too easy and heroic is too hard. We lost one of our members for 10 man because of that and heroic progress is even harder with 1 random pug. And if that weren't enough blizzard official server bugs a lot lol Magmaw laying its head the oposite side of the raid 3 omnis active bot's council Oni and Nefi's buff even when they are already separated.

I think the Heroic Fights are great, for the most part. Some of the mechanics are really strong and average raiders struggle with it. It’s really tough to carry low IQ raiders.

i played on apollo too but i never seen bugs like in blizzard there :D like we wiped on council hc 11 time just becuse after fire boss jumped he dosent leave any fire on ground i mean its 10 year when blizzard gonna fix thoese bug ? or on sinstra orbs get bug like 40% time and kill ppl rng

I mean i just jioned herioc cata for the first time and got a guild to progress with. and it isnt that hard actually. Like no way this is comparable to mythic retail. We havent killed nel and stuff either but we are progressing nicely and its enjoyable.

Fact: 25man H is way harder than 10man Heroics.

I quit Cata Classic now because of it. Its litteraly either Prog guild what does not exist or GDKP and if trash gear no trinkets and no Prog you can't pump. Its a waste of time.

Im just trying to understand how people think they are entitled to heroic gear with no effort and no accountability? The raids are plenty easy enough on normal, no one is forcing you to play heroic or do any prog at all

I think its perfect difficulty level, if you think its too hard then go play SoD and that's not talking shit that's just simply what SoDs purpose is. HC players have cata and retail as options

It is not for everyone. People just have to be honest with themselves. Don't complain about it. Just accept it and move on. I like the raids but I even have that feeling: I might be too old for this. The fact that 1 person in a 25m can ruin the entire attempt is rough to deal with. Guilds that want to kill heroics in Cata need to be very selective with their raiders and hold them accountable. There is no "ignore mechanics and pump" meta anymore.

There's "challenging" and then there's "simply not fun to play".

Mindless face roll raiding with monitors off and still one shot everything phase is over for me. Those who want 100% raid clears with minimal effort/challenge have SoD to go play I guess.
