Just hit 21 days after 4 years of smoking everyday. I’m still irritable asf but at least the cold sweats have calm down now. Wasted so much time and money and now looking back I regret ever starting. Wishing my fellow peeps who are looking to stop to keep pushing. Good luck y’all🙏

Been smoking since I was 16, I’m 28 now. Most all of my friends have stopped and are doing real adult shit and I still wanna hide from reality and smoke weed. I been asleep my whole twenties because of this drug. I feel like I wasted my youth on it. I don’t wanna be a 30 year old still using.

I feel you bro. I started smoking heavily once I got out the army I was 22 when I got out. Just had my 29th bday in Oct. and have been smoking pens and blunts everyday since I got out. I’m 5 days sober and it’s fucking horrible . But the harder it gets I feel like I’m getting closer to staying clean . Hoping to never touch the stuff again.

I started smoking weed during an abusive relationship. I was getting physically hit (on top of all the other forms of abuse) and after hours of him spiraling/abusing me, hed settle down and he’d light a blunt. I was never a smoker before this. I’d smoke with him because it turned into my coping mechanism to numb myself. I didn’t have any close friends or family to turn to, I honestly accepted my fate: that he would kill me, that no one cared for me and this was my bed- so I had to lay in it. I finally fled to a DV shelter after 4 years . It’s been about 7 years and I haven’t stopped smoking. I suffered from ptsd which kept me isolated at home, without working or seeing people. Smoking got me through the loneliness and pain. The habit has transformed into a monster I’m trying to take down in my life. I feel it’s crippling me in so many areas. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be free and not be dependent . To be able to go through my day without NEEDING to do this, only to ruin my day with cancelled plans , undone chores, late homework . Etc. I pray for healing and recovery for all us suffering with trauma. People don’t realize a lot of those who suffer from traumatic experiences are more prone to become addicted to weed. My current bf now , doesn’t smoke AT ALL. Has no desire for it. Meanwhile, I’m feening 😅 I know it’s because he’s never had to numb himself to survive another day. People are suffering. The first step would be to get specialized therapy. Fill my free time with hobbies and do all the things I’ve wanted to do that the HIGH stole motivation for . Pray for me somebody!!!!!

Let’s talk about the fact I can’t sleep for days on end when trying to quit. Let’s talk about the fact that my mood can go from totally calm to ballistic rage when I die in Valorant. Let’s talk about how I can go a day and a half without feeling hungry, only forcing myself to eat when I’m starting to get too tired to move. Let’s talk about how temperature regulation goes out the window and how my body decides randomly to superheat itself, only to follow it with subthermal shivers randomly throughout my day. My personal favorite, let’s talk about how my body likes to reject food after 1 day of quitting. I can only keep liquids down as it reminds me of always having a water next to me while smoking. I won’t say doctors don’t know anything, because they clearly know more than I do in most subjects, but let’s be real, most doctors aren’t smoking weed, much less chronically. If you want to know real symptoms, talk to people with firsthand accounts of quitting.
@ImortalXenon
@ImortalXenon Жыл бұрын
The only thing I can say in his defense. He’s right about it not being as bad as other harder drugs. Thankfully, thc is much less transformative to your body as other illicit substances. It WILL be easier to quit and it’s lasting effects won’t be seen as clearly after quitting. That being said, it still sucks shit to try to quit.

I used weed as a medicine to help my ADHD symptoms in the nights as it’s always been a big struggle to relax properly and focus so it always helped with that but last week I decided to quit weed for financial matters and the first week of stopping my ADHD symptoms was almost like a rebound effect as it was very intense with all the typical ADHD symptoms such as chronic stress, hyper behaviour, insomnia, cortisol levels was very high which caused sweating and panic. Basically suffered from dopamine depletion as thc drains your dopamine levels and as an adhd individual who has typically less dopamine than the neurotypical person, it was very intense but now time has passed since having any and i feel a lot more stable in myself and just much better. Thanks so much for this video, so interesting with how the psychological dependency works with weed!

Thank you. I've been trying to quit but Its hard because I feel like my ADHD symptoms worsen. I cant stop thinking, I cant sleep, I cant get anything done, depressed. I'm only on day 2 now but hopefully this time I can actually do it.
@privera4941
@privera4941 Жыл бұрын
I may be wrong but bro, I've never heard of thc draining your dopamine levels. Your brain doesn't suddenly create/deplete you of any dopamine. The way thc reacts in our body is different than other drugs. That's why it's fairly safe and no reported overdoses. You'd have to smoke a huge, and I mean HUGE quantity to overdose and even then nothing happens besides maybe paranoia or panic which may cause maybe mild sweating but it doesn't destroy your body like alcohol or other 'drugs.'
@ihs200
@ihs200 11 ай бұрын
@@privera4941It causes your body to depend on it because every time you smoke it releases dopamine. This means that you will have lower than average dopamine levels than if you didnt smoke so it can cause depression and other symtoms. This is coming from someone thats currently addicted (trying to quit) and I definitely feel the negativite effects it has on me. The issue is it's psychologically addictive so it's very difficult for people to admit to themselves that it's bad, I know it took me a very long time.
@privera4941
@privera4941 11 ай бұрын
@isaacsturgill7295 I believe thc will have that effect on people who don't control their urges and end up depending on it. I'm trying really hard to only use it for gatherings or when I'm with the homies and replacing that with alcohol and other drugs. That way I can be of assistance to other people at a function if they're too drunk (or whatever they're on) so I can help. Weed will reward you with that. So will psychedelics.
@aaliyahjones6409
@aaliyahjones6409 Жыл бұрын
If you think you have physical withdrawal you're wrong. The psychological impact is what tricks you into thinking so. Once you're prepared mentally, that diminishes almost completely. Trust me I smoked for over 15 years chronically, daily, extremely dependent and thought I couldn't do it but wrong

Delta-9-THC causes physical dependence with chronic use. You don't know what youre talking about. Severe sweating, insomnia, shakes and tremors, restless legs, anger, etc. are all somatic withdrawal symptoms from Delta-9-THC. Just because it isn't as intense as full ethanol withdrawal doesn't mean it doesn't cause physical dependence. ALL the research in humans and animals shows this.

I'm 18 and I've been smoking regularly (almost everyday) since 16. A couple days ago I decided to take a break due to economic reasons. I'm not rly experiencing any withdrawal effects neither mental nor phisic. My sleep is fine, appetite is fine and I'm not more irritable than normally. The thing i miss the most is my lullaby joint. I had the habit to smoke a j while listening to music before going to bad and it was one of my favourite moments of the day. Figured out I can replace that moment with other stuff to fill the void. That said I think having other hobbies besides smoking is what really makes me not mind the break

I think lots of people underplay psychological addiction. They don't realize that's still a serious withdrawal problem. For example sugar and chocolate are psychologically addictive. Imagine never being able to eat chocolate again, that's how bad it is.

I started smoking cigarettes at 14 years old, switched to nicotine vapes at 24, and quit nicotine cold turkey at 28. I also quit alcohol completely, despite being a severe alcoholic for about 4 years. I can’t kick weed. I just can’t do it. I live in a constant state of intense anxiety without it. At one point I even disassociated- super scary feeling. Usually when I start trying to quit, I will have an outburst of anger that causes me to lose my job- sometimes it happens while I’m trying to quit, and sometimes it happens after I start again after not noticing a change despite quitting for 3 weeks. With alcohol and nicotine I was able to tell myself that the worst of it would be over in 14 days, and it was- I can’t say the same for weed. I don’t know how long the race is.

I'm 21 and I was smoking since 15, i missed so many opportunities until now, i fucked up my brain, I couldn't focus, think probably, do activities, i was depressed when i wasn't smoking, anxious, didn't have any courage to try anything, stopped working, started stealing and smoking 8*9 joints a day. Now i work, i got a new car, I'm better. I had the chance to experience the withdrawal and i got scared, Swating, stomach pain, mucus, bad sleep or no sleep, you can't really eat anymore, i lost weight... i never understand what caused my mood to be like that, i always acused my family for everything.

@@jordanmarazzi3548 Thanks for sharing this with me. But if you are willing to take an advice, even if it's not that much until tomorrow, don't wait. Do it when you are not ready, If you know what I mean. Don't let your brain to process and overthink. If you are in this comment section it means you want to know better about this stuff, you want to change, so try to Google it, read a little bit what weed causes to your brain. I don't know personally how much you smoke, but even if you smoke one-two joints a day for a while (with powerful thc) You'll start to forget things, such as memories and even feelings. You'll start to feel anxious when in the beginning weed made us feel like we didn't give a shit who's watching and what it happens, we were feeling great smoking. It's addictive, you'll start to fight with your loved ones cause of it, feel depressed when you don't have weed, and even when you have it, after a while (if people can have some Discerning) will feel guilty and know that it's not ok to smoke anymore. After you quit, you'll get those memories and the power to do anything. Just think about it, what changed until now, how did weed affected your life what impact did it have. Is it really worth it?

I can’t sleep because I start sweating profusely and I get cold. everything seems so bland and boring now and I mean everything. sitting down, watching videos, texting friends, etc. I DEFINITELY need weed to feel happy, or to have fun and everyday is hell for me right now. don’t start and if you just recently started I suggest you quit.

Lolllll holdddd up cause Going through these PHYSICAL along with the psychological symptoms of cold sweats, unexpected tremors, lack of sleep, no appetite, mood swings and dysphoria, I think it is very invalidating and frustrating when someone dictates it’s purely psychological. Everyone is different and it is amazing if your body does not go through such symptoms, I’m happy for you fr :) but with that said, it is not true for everyone. My personal experience, I feel miserable lol, I feel angry for no reason, I sweat and it’s so uncomfortable, I shake like I got the flu and yes cannabis can be amazing but I am learning that moderation really is key because the addiction can be so real. And mind you, there is still so much we do not know about the effects of cannabis due to it being so stigmatized, and being classified as a schedule one drug which makes research on it hard to accomplish. So although maybe for some there may not be withdrawal symptoms which is great, but for some people like me, I feel miserable and watching something like this telling me that it is purely psychological feels so invalidating because although there are psychological symptoms it’s not all there is lol trust me I feel it, I wish I could tell you that it is purely psychological but my body said nahhh😭 . So please regardless of ur experience don’t undermine the physical impacts and experience of cannabis withdrawal. Have empathy for people that are trying to acknowledge its effects and heal. It is real and if u are going through it, I believe in you, u are not alone, sending u lots of love and hugs, it’ll be worth it! Please take good care of urself and give yourself so so so much love because u deserve it and frankly u owe it to yourself! Good luck bestie! We’ll be feeling better and clear headed in no time, keep fighting the urges ❤️❤️💪😭 ps. I am not saying give it up completely lol but acknowledge that it does have effects that we can’t always control so moderation do be key😩
