How human can a robot be?

Humanlike robot Pepper came onto the market in Japan in 2015. Now it's being sold to companies in the US and in Europe. The robot with the cute eyes can talk, walk (on wheels), do small tasks and make jokes. In Austria the robot is part of research at the Vienna University of Technology. It’s interesting to see how people, especially children, immediately feel attached to the robot. But how human is this robot actually?

A multitude of robots is being developed right now for these kinds of purposes. With care personnel becoming scarcer every year, they're going to need assistant robots just to keep up with everything. And as a bonus the robots can also do the heavy lifting, actually there are already patient-lifting robots in use in some hospitals so the personnel doesn't have to retire at 50 because of a broken body.

Next step would be that Pepper would have 2 legs to walk on and not fall over. To be able to take stairs.

I would like to see Machina cheat at games. What kind of twist and turns will Machina do? One day, people will ask: Which University did you attend, Machina! It will mean something if it's Harvard.

I wonder if a person in an old aged home would be allowed one if they bought it as an aid care bot. If it can push you or help feed you it would great Or even have you follow it down to dinner It can talk with you or even check you for problems.
