I started meditating over 10 years ago, and I totally agree with what you’re saying. The more I sat in silence, focusing inwards, the more clarity I had in relation to reality, and I realised the illusion of the self, the ego character that the mind creates and believes as“real” doesn’t actually exist here and now, but only in thoughts. I also gravitated to the teachings of Advaita Vedanta, Buddism and eastern philosophy, seeing what they point to is the experiences I had. The more I meditated, the clearer it became. My now wife was concerned I was going to become a monk and go live in a cave 😂 Information about everything just seemed to flow when attention was placed on it, human psychology also became obvious. Thanks for the video.

The universe answered me. Ive been able to reach higher planes, for a while without much training. And ever since then I've been able to achieve it less and less and it's because I've never been taught how to meditate and I've been saying lately after every meditation, that I wish someone could teach me how to spiritually meditate properly. So it's great that these videos showed up in my recommended.

A few years I did a meditation where I set my gaze forward and slightly upward while doing hamsa breathing. After a while, I closed my eyes and began to see streaks of white-silver pulsating light. When I focused upon them they began to pulsate erratically before eventually exploding then all I could see was white light. When it cleared, I experienced being pure disembodied consciousness. I was in an all white room and when I focused my attention below me I saw a woman sitting crossed legged on the floor looking up at me smiling. (I was floating near the ceiling) Her skin was literally the color white as was her hair. She had very bright crystal blue eyes and was wearing red lipstick. Startled me so badly my physical body jumped which ended the experience. This was back in 2020 and I haven’t been able to recreate it ever since. I’m glad to have stumbled across your video. This was really helpful.

Thank you for sharing. I had no proper teacher to teach me meditation. All I did was watching KZfaq videos that anyone talked about it. But somehow I did 7 chakra meditation for more than 3 months in 2022. Then one night I had a dream saying the kundalini energy reached the crown 👑 chakra. I laughed myself when woke up. Thought must be my brain thinking too much. But truely I noticed that I see stuffs from air during meditation in a week time. It was amazing experience from just practicing one single technique. Of course I don’t watch any news, also eating healthy food. 😊❤

Hi Ben, my meditation has recently changed a lot. I started 3 months ago and one day, I began moving in these gentle movements. Totally involuntary. The movements never jerk me. They are so beautiful. My body feels like a ribbon being pulled through water. And my mind is almost entirely clear. Are these Kriyas? Higher connection to spirit? Opening chakras? Whatever it is, they start just a few seconds into meditation and they feel very good.

Thank you for this video. These pointers are truly helpful. I feel I am dead still, yet I keep coming back to body consciousness. Does external sounds and all cause a problem? There are no silent places in the world today. Awareness just keeps coming back to the body or stomach movement or feel like it’s going somewhere and then realising that I’m going somewhere .. and the happiness of attaining a leve also brings me back into the live moment. It was easier to get out of body consciousness in the early days of meditation. But I feel that as I Have gained knowledge over the years, it’s not fresh anymore. Thanks to you I’m going to get back to basics 🙏🏼🌺

Sounds and distractions will always be there, it’s learning to work with them that will take you further. Obviously minimise them by doing what you can (find a quiet space, do it at a time of day that’s more likely to be quiet etc). Other than that, keep working how I explained in the vid 🙏

Ben, thank you for that concise overview. I struggle with keeping a single point of focus. I try to concentrate on breathing, yet I seem to get bored or drift into thought. I'm trying very soft meditative music and usually have better luck focusing on the rhythmic flow of it. You did not mention music, but what do you think about it as a focus? I also have some Solfeggio tracks I can play. What is your thoughts on that area?

Hey Ben. Thanks for the very good summary. My questios are regarding losing body awareness: I often get distracted as im doing regular posture checks and correct myself. Is it sthg to let go or is the posture getting better by the time by itself? 2nd one..when you loose body awareness how do you prevent falling from sitting position or do you practice this lying?

I can tell u right now you don't need good posture or even a straight spine, unless ur doing some spine centric meditation. You don't have to focus on ur breath either unless ur doing a breath type meditation. Just get relaxed and enter your inner world. 😌

Well done. I have to ask...six years old? I thought I was jumping the gun a little trying to teach my kids at five! I must ask by what family dynamic was this possible for you? Also, I would like to offer to the listeners who are presently learning single point focus; for Trataka (explained in detail in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika) I have found it easier to use an incense stick in a dark room for gazing. This way when the candle flame jumps, moves or changes (it will, always) it is not so jarring as you approach the hypnagogic state. Most incense sticks will burn for around 45 minutes - a good timer for the practice. As the ash falls from the stick, the cherry will glow a bit brighter for a few seconds but that is nothing compared to a flame suddenly changing intensity. I personally do not use Trataka anymore but I have and do still teach it. Thanks for having this channel. It gives good teachings without all the trappings and jargon of the monastic classes. Some are into the monk style; for others its a big turnoff. Are you of the Vajrayana by chance?
