A "specialty" mold from Ikea 😂 hold up I'm going to write these tips down on my specialty notepad from target.

Professional baker here! Another tip is to add a small amount of water to a baking tray on the rack below your cakes. So long as your temperature is correct and all the heat isn’t being directed to the top of your cake, the higher humidity will help prevent the crust forming too early in the baking process, when the crust forms too early, the raw batter in the center of the cake will expand upwards causing a large amount of cracking, and a very large dome to form. Smaller dome = less waste to cut off.

Never spray them it damages the silicone you flour them then shake the flour out after a few uses or seasons and you don’t need to do anything. Also if you hold it up to a light and you can see through it, then throw it out

My biggest gripe with silicone is that it will start to impart a nasty taste to anything you bake in it after using it twice. It's fine if you're willing to treat your molds as disposable, but that gets expensive.

My dilemma when wishing to use any silicone cooking or baking tool: how do you clean them without having them absorb the scent of the soap or detergent and transmitting it to your food? I MUST be doing something wrong!
