I went into this dlc with an arcane build because that’s what my blind first playthrough was… and it was a time. This guy and the guy in the fissure were by far the hardest for it. I had to respec to use the new colossal bleed weapon with its 224 bleed buildup I was struggling even after that… until I put on the ritual shield talisman. With this boss you just have to accept you’re going to get hit and you need to pick and choose what you get hit by That phase 2 attack he does where it’s the slam, light beams then more light beams for example, dodge the slam and dodge the big aoe of light beams. Forget dodging the first set because if you do the second set will hit you… and those hurt more.

Nice kill man, I managed at scadutree blessing 18 and I still had to respect for extra damage. I used the charge attack tear with the tear that boosts roll I-frames, then poked him to death with the trusty claymore. I didn't use spirit ashes or summons but man if I ever fight this boss again I definitely will.

I beat him by using the Black Steel Greatshield + Giant Crusher “poise break” strategy, and re-spec’d to 99 Strength, 60 Vigor, and 60 Endurance. I used the Stonebarb Cracked Tear and Opaline Hardtear Physick buffs for damage reduction and poise break boosting. I wore the Fire Knight Helm and the rest were Tree Sentinel Armor pieces. My talismans were the Golden Braid, Great-Jar's Arsenal, Pearl Drake +3, and the Two Handed-Sword Talisman. I also used the mimic tear summon. With all of this I managed to pull off 3 poise breaks on Radahn for the win.

That being said, I'd still rather fight this guy than Fatalis the Black Dragon in Monster Hunter World. I was getting flashbacks to him while fighting Radahn. lol

@@SupercharizardEx you know what, the search is over. Just got him with such an OP start..... impenetrable thorns + maternal staff. Mimic tear and try to stay at hus feets all the time so the spell will proc bleed super easily. Its as cheesy as it can get lmao

Alright, Consort means wife/husband, so Miquella can't choose Malenia as she is his direct sibling, and Godwyn's soul was killed by Ranni. Malenia actually waged war because Miquella wants to make Radahn his consort from the start, Malenia whispers into Radahn ear in that double suicide scene that Miquella is waiting for his promised. But Radahn didn't really die so the Tarnished need to kill him for good.

@@ekewaka7497 if you know god mythology, being half sibling doesn't prevent them from fucking at all. Malenia and Miquella are twins, so them being consorts don't make sense. And it's explain why Malenia specificially wage war against Caelid, people assume they want the Great Rune to become Elden Lord, but it was all Miquella crime, he even charms Mogh and make him handle all the blame, then turn his remains into new Radahn. Radahn and Miquella did promise each other to become consorts, but in the end Radahn refused to do it.

@@whalemanbuddy105 in one of the item descriptions (I forget which one) it says that Radahn would vow to be Miquella’s consort given one condition from the twins. This ‘condition’ was never disclosed so I assume that they did not hold their end of the bargain so Radahn refused OR the ‘condition’ was to give Radahn a warriors death so he didn’t have to off himself to get to the land of shadow

Literally no difference.. I have 2 characters and one of them is in ng6. The other in ng2. Same difficulty in the dlc for both. Damage to health ratio is balanced out because the dlc scales off of your own stats.

I tried with my own build and after about 150 tries I decided to do some research and found this video. I rebalanced my stats, level the weapons, and then went in with this build and beat it on my first try with this. This is actually such a sick build. Yeah me too, i beated him at last, however i saw a guy on youtube that cheesed radahn with fingerprint shielf and a cross naginata bleed infused, if you have the correct talismans and put on lords divine protection when he uses the light explosion attack you'll nullify all of his attempts to kill you

I was running a full Int build pure Mage. ( No Sword or other Weapons at all run, only spells ). Most of the Bosses might seem easier, but there are a few you can't win against without Summons. Had 20+ Tries with spells but the cast time against super fast enemies like Radahn or Commander Gaius were impossible. So I had to respec into a Str. Build with a Big Shield, took me 2 tries and first one was only to adjust to the Playstyle. Talk about Mage is the easier way, Str. is 100% easier run, the shield is just too broken.

I just beat him on NG+8 if you’re struggling and are just over the second phase use the spell Impenetrable Thorns/ as a sort of bleed build it melts him

I'm on NG+ and I feel like my Radahn is 3 times harder than this: way more hp and way stronger attack. I was Vit 60, on full bull-goat set and using golden vow + divine fortification + golden braid + dragoncrest greatshield. It DIDN'T FUCKING MATTER. Radahn still kill me in 2 or 3 hits. This fight is truly bullshit.

Yeah, it didn't matter how many blessings I had either. If I didn't have a great shield, bosses would kill me with 2-3 hits. A single hit would shave off 60% of my health at 70 Vigor. I would only use great runes and this sushi looking thing for damage negation, but I'd barely feel much of a difference. I beat Radahn last night with great shield + Sword Lance w/ Bleed

What’s the point of having a boss, that’s spamming his attacks all over the arena, does have insane AOE and leaves you almost no time to heal. As much as I like the DLC, some fights have to much of that and to little real combat. I am curious to see this Boss go down on NG +7 level 1 No damage. Show me how it’s done.

If your struggling with a faith build try using scarlett aoenia after his first attack in both phases to apply scarlett rot. It speeds up the fight and helps melt him when your too busy dodging combos and trying to heal. I did this without a high poise build that would take big damage from each attack. I would imagine this strat would be even easier with a high poise build.

Nah, it's not easier. I have high poise and he knocked me out of the spell most of the time. I just gave up and got a shield, which trivialized the fight.

I hate that I’m considering starting a new game to beat this DLC, since beating Radahn at NG+7 is borderline impossible. He has too much health, & does too much damage, regardless of my build. Even if I do summon to “make it easier” he just waltzes through the mimic & NPCs.

look for a bleed spell and a sheild for the second phase and you should be able to kill him fast or just use a shield

Try what I did (and worked wonders for me): Antspur Rapier + Fingerprint Stone Shield. Always attack while defending, no matter what.

I think I’ve probably put 50+ attempts into radahn so far and I’ve tried several builds. Oddly enough, some of my best attempts are with some of my wackiest weapons. I’m starting to think I should try a fingerprint shield, rapier build.

Not even trying to brag, but i did. And the reason is very simple: the summon made him switch lock ons constantly and made responding to attacks more difficult. I genuinely found soloing easier

Depends completely on your playstyle. Mine is a responsive one, i learn the moveset, the spacing, the opportunities to attack, in order to beat bosses. And eventually i learn the right way to handle every attack, then its just a matter of putting that knowledge into play till i get that one good run

I cheesed radahn at level 220 with the antspur rapier (with seppuku ash of war and set to blood, so you have bleed and rot on it) and the fingerprint shield, i used kindred of rot talisman, lord of bloods exultation talisman, pearldrake talisman +3, and dragncrest greatshield talisman. I had the heaviest armor from the dlc (moores armor) and the white mask for 10% more damage from the bleed. i used my mimic tear also. I had 73 endurance for blocking, but i procted rot and bleed multiple times in the fight. Bleed and rot are your friends in this fight, he is hard as shit, so good luck to everyone struggling.

As difficult as it was, I managed to beat radahn today with a quality claymore. No summons, no ash of wars, no statuses, just pure skill. Granted it is a very difficult fight, and im glad the game offers less experienced players a means to tackle this challenge. That being said, I have massive respect for anyone that beat him in a method similar to mine.

So, I beat the game blind with very few deaths and doing most bosses first try powerstancing a Poison Antspur Rapier + Cold Rogier's Rapier on the day after release. Only this boss and Messmer gave me trouble with my build. I struggled in my first attempts to beat Radahn solo until I changed my strategy, which turned the whole battle as a cake walk: I used an Anstpur Rapier while holding a Fingerprint Stone Shield. For those who don't know, rapiers can attack while you defend. This way, I could tank my guy and protect me from Radahn's devastating attacks, and poke him with Antspur's scarlet rot. Worked beautifully.

NG scales, but your debuffs are universal. I can rail bosses in other worlds much easier if they're on a lower NG save. NG+9 and your defense means nothing. Everything damn near 1 shots you, but i can take several to the dome before i need a heal.

I'm not sure if it's true, but I've heard a rumour that the dlc doesn't scale with ng+. Apparently, everyone is on the same difficulty at first because I think you can restart the dlc on its own without having to restart the whole game.

It all boils down to strategy and knowing the boss. Most builds will be ineffective against Radahn's oppression. I had to swallow my pride and go for a full strength build in order to win. I re-spec'd and tweaked my build about 5 times before I finally found something that worked.

@@heyjustaskmelater Sure, I used the Black Steel Greatshield + Giant Crusher “poise break” strategy. I was specced at 99 Strength, 60 Vigor, and 60 Endurance. I used the Stonebarb Cracked Tear and Opaline Hardtear Physick buffs for damage reduction and the poise break boost. I wore the Fire Knight Helm and the rest of the pieces were Tree Sentinel Armor pieces. My talismans were the Golden Braid, Great-Jar's Arsenal, Pearl Drake +3, and the Two Handed-Sword Talisman.

Spoiler alert: since his body is molded from mohgs flesh. Mohg and morgotts cursed bodies seem to have bloodflame naturally imbued to their blood, so by using mohgs flesh, radahn inherits such properties
