Circumstances of life like prison etc. aside, Rab Ul Alameen had to take all the distractions of life and fitna away in order to make your seedling of an Iman grow into a mighty oak. I agree with you Brother Malik. I qas born and live in Indonesia. We celebrate maulid almost eevveryday here in every masjid and musholla (small masjid). We read Quran, Sholawat, Shirah Nabawiyah, Dzikr, etc.. and then we ate together mostly using the big plate 3/4 persons per plate. We feel the brotherhood. No dance and singing. No clapping hands. But We feel the ukhuwah and the love to our beloved messenger, the prophet Muhammad. Maulid is about to praise Allah and Rasulullah.. and Togetherness.

I converted to Islam when I was 18. I gave my shahada to two believers, one a Palestinian man named Sohaib and one a Yemeni woman who's named escapes me. I didn't know the Arabic alphabet or how to recite anything. I still don't. I fear the hellfire for all I've said and done, and not done, but I have hope that Allah SWT will forgive me in his great mercy. I don't know where to go for learning how to recite as there's no bus to other towns and I don't have a car. The closest Masjid I am aware of is about 50 miles away (I live in the Central time zone in America).

@just A guy Thank you, I believe in naseeb very much so it was All in Allah's plan Alhumdullah. I do wish Muslim men would be better husbands, take marriage seriously and put in effort to the relationship. All I can do is be active in making sure my son's are good husbands InshaAllah. It is also our duty as mothers and fathers to assure they treat their wife with respect, compassion and mercy by pointing out their shortcomings and making them correct them and not just sitting idle watching and doing nothing.
