How I build loops on the Boss RC-600. My step by step for this song "Turn Your Lights Down Low" by Bob Marley. I am basing my arrangement off of the Lauryn Hill version she did. Such a sweet song!

As a computer nerd who does his looping in Ableton, you are forcing me to reexamine my opinion of standalone looping pedals. =)

Oh snap! That is a very kind compliment. I can see the two methods being suited for different situations. I would like to learn a little more about Ableton looping. but the pedals are mighty convenient for travel 👍

@@EmilyMcVicker, as is a laptop. =) I consider it the best of both worlds because I use an FCB1010 to give me all the functionality of a foot-pedal. But I can also use pedaless (or scripted) looping so I don't have to learn "choreography" (as you so aptly put it in one of your videos) for more complicated songs. Hi Emily, I have a future recommendation for the Boss RC 505 MKII if you can. There’s an artist called “future” who worked with “metro boomin” to create a song called mask off. I plugged my keyboard to rc 600 input 1, and connected rc 600 to computer via usb. Selected input and output device as rc 600 in ableton. But ableton does not recognize my keyboard as midi controller. Bur ableton takes the midi notes from my keyboard when I connect it directly to computer via usb, but latency is too high. That is why I tried to use rc 600 as audio interface, but couldn't make it work. Any insights?

If you’re trying to use the keyboard as a midi controller, you will need a midi cable to send OUT of the keyboard and into an interface. I recommend you getting a real interface, and not using the RC 600. The you’ll need to send the midi SOUNDS from the computer into the looper (if you’re trying to loop the midi sounds, that is). The midi sounds come from the computer and never go back into the keyboard. When plugging the keyboard into the Looper, you would need to use the onboard sounds coming directly from the keyboard.
