In this video i show you how i finished building the exterior of my workshop garden room. I install composite cladding and install the epdm rubber roof plus so much more such as facia boards and roller door installation.
We will cover the whole process from start to finish so that by the end, you will have inspiration and guides to build one of these yourself!

Most garage electric door installers recommend you have an alternative method of entry so that if you have an electrical fault you can still get in and open the roller door manually. The workshop looks great but as someone else mentioned why no windows?

Depending on what the tube motor position is, if horizontal then drill a hole through the timber & insert the overide facility (if provided by the manufacturer) or alternatively wire in a UPS

I've really enjoyed this series, because it has demystified a lot of the finer details about a DIY out-building. I've always wanted to build something like this, but each time I ran through the design and details I ran out of budget on the estimate and know-how about "belt & braces" strength. I probably would have ran out of patience too, with a half-built monstrosity lying in my back garden until my old age. Great stuff!

I want to frame out a single skin brick garage here in the uk, 2 walls [outside facing] 1 dividing wall onto the next doors garage. Roller door already done! Wanna insulate it and board over the walls, just to make a more temp friendly and nicer to be in... will close off the roof space too

Great series of videos. We are building a similar sized gym and want to build as close to the boundary as possible. I thought we would have to build of concrete blocks. Is it PD all over England if you meet other requirements and put metal cladding on side near boundary? We are in Norwich. Thanks very much.

Nice job, but with out windows or doors I think it could be a bit claustrophobic inside. Also what about ventilation ? A door would be useful if/when the roller door fails in the down position with the emergency release stuck - as has happened to me....

Absolutely outstanding workmanship loved every video of this build I’ve learnt so much can I just ask why there’s no windows for natural light either? You’re gonna have to have the light on all the time all of your roller shutter door open which will be nice in summer but not so much in winter just asking.
@TheDIYGuy1
@TheDIYGuy1 2 ай бұрын
Thanks. No windows due to security and plenty of downlights to solve the light problem.
