This is how I set up my practice drum set with noise/vibration isolation riser in my apartment with Sylomer foam.
When you practice at home, noise can be eliminated by choosing quiet playing surfaces; but the vibration going through the floor is the main issue. Sylomer foam is the ultimate solution for eliminating vibration coming from the full set. This high-end noise/vibration reduction mateial has been used in construction industries, for example under railroad tracks.

Big thanks to my friend Ryan who introduced and supplied me Sylomer SR11 foam!
The building process is inspired by VDrum Tips's great video: • E-Drum Noise Isolation... .
My E-kit include:
Roland TM-6 Pro drum module
Roland RT-30HR dual-zone triggers
Roland VH-10 hihat
Roland CY-15R cymbal
On Trigger Gen3 pedal triggers
Sabian Quiet Tone Mesh Head practice pad set
Prism 3-ply mesh heads
DIY bass drum pad (Evans Realfeel frame + Gibraltar rubber pad)
TAMA Dyna-Sync double pedals
All TAMA hardwares

Legend tells he’s still placing muffling material under his drum kit to this day. Thanks for the tips!

Respect to results, and the Black Cat, of course! I'll try some things of that, I'll share the video, of course.

I'm curious about placing Sylomers on the puzzle mat. From what I understand, the force on them has to be in a specific window for them to work. If you put them on another compliant material, the effective force on the sylomer will reduce and they might not function they way they are intended to.

Du you have any idea how much does it isolates the vibration? I am a heavy hitter and I am very worried that If I do this investment it is not going to work

Hello how close do you have to be with the weight and the sylomer? What if I gained 10 pounds or add some more drums..... I have built a riser using wheelbarrow iner tubes and it work great for stopping high 90% of the vibrations but they keep getting air leaks and I have to keep buying new ones. So your / vdrums looks better .no flat tires on my drums lol

Do you not have problems with the quiet tone cymbals being too loud?

I'm curious if the puzzle foam mat under the sylomer is necessary, or if it might even be hurting the noise dampening properties? Have you done a comparison with/without it?

Jesse E hey! Good point I actually took them out after rethinking about it awhile ago. However at least for this weight it’s not too much of a difference.

These noise eaters cost more than all the other parts of of the platform! :D Pretty amazing sandwich you finally got. Do you think all of these top layers make sense? I know they won't hurt, but would the vibration be significantly more if you remove one puzzle-pad & MDF from the top of you construction?

From an acoustics point of view, the main metric we are hoping to achieve with whatever resilient isolating material is its static deflection. This simply means how much it compresses with all the dead load above it. The greater the static deflection (usually measured in mm), the lower the system's resonant frequency, i.e. the better the system is at attenuating frequencies above it. One thing that is hard to achieve in a drum set up (like in every other vibration causing system) is the attenuation of the low frequency thuds. So the short answer to your question is, the heavier the dead load above, the better. If you could use thicker boards / compressed concrete boards as your base, it'll generally be better. Just need to make sure your foam or resilient layer is not fully compressed under that load, otherwise you might want to consider using a thicker foam or resilient layer.

It’s not a bad video, but I wonder why people want to make videos influenced by the VDrum one, if not for the views. VDrum killed it and this videos adds nothing.

This is definitely not about views. I am not a KZfaqr. It’s a fun process, I enjoyed making it, so I documented my process and shared couple of my own takes on it.And of course Vdrums killed it for sure and I credited his video too.

Vdrums video is a lot more complex, requiring all the extra measurement and countersinking to attach the boards, as well as carpeting, etc. This would be better, minus a few things like the noise eaters, to first see if the damn thing works.
