About this video:
My cat has been sick and is unable to go through her spaying surgery. In the meantime she has been through a couple of heat cycles. since there are tomcats / male cats roaming outside the house, her cycles can last quite long and become very intense. Even when all the windows and doors are locked, the last time she was in heat, it lasted almost 3 weeks which almost drove me insane! I am exhausted, had sleepless nights.
Through online recommendation, Ive been giving her more attention, playtime and petting. Although there are days where playtime did not even deter her from yowling/caterwauling. There are suggestions of acupressure which I've tried as a last resort but doesn't usually work.
Since she seem to be really uncomfortable, most of the time, its a lot of petting and giving her lots of attention through the day and night.
Calm my cat in heat with belly rubs
At last, by accident, giving her belly rubs or ngpelvic rubs/ rubs that go from belly to her pelvis area has seem to soothe her quite a bit. She stops yowling and also give lots of appreciative meows and slow blinks. I believe the heat from the rubs and the massage comforts the sore in her pelvic area. I would thinka heating pad while massaging her would be very beneficial. Sometimes the belly rubs last 10 minutes before she falls asleep.
I also once put her in a warm bath and she quiet down when usually she hates baths. She needs to be held in the bath and reassured many times. Most of the time, when the heat cycle is not at its peak, belly rubs work. The intensity of the rubs depends on the intensity of her heat. She also has now learn to love bellyrubs even when she's not in heat!

For the people asking why they didn't spayed the cat, read description. For the people saying it's weird or wrong, look for some cat anatomy. Dalaa Kuzbari I can partially agree since I’m not a cat expert,When a cats in heat as soon as you touch around there genitals they start to show there butt in the air to you like there ready to mate. Sometimes they’ll lick around that area,Amd there a lot more affectionate and relaxed. It can depend on the cat.

My cat is whole black, so she sweats a lot. When she's resting, I'm just taking some moisturized with cold water towel and I'm kinda "petting her with that towel, then her paws, and belly at the end. By the time I'll stop doing that, the towel won't be as cold as it was at the beginning, so she likes to lay her head on it :D.

@@Flanneryschickens I don't know about medicines but I do know that some come in the form of liquid. I've given my cats those when they got skin infection and to feed it I mixed it with a little wet food, job complete and they are healthy now

Friendly reminder that a cat's genitals are NOT between its legs, really. Touching a cat there is more like around/just under the belly button. The areas you don't want to touch are under the tail and higher/more back than where this person is touching in the video So doing this is NOT sexual in any way, it's just massaging the soreness in her abdomen, not sexually stimulating her. Even though heats aren't equivalent to periods, it'd be more like massaging the lower belly of a woman on her period to relieve menstrual cramps

Mau Mao the Rescue Kitten Yeah, I would definitely set up a play date with Mau Mau! 🥺❤️ My Mittens is so sweet and as far as I see the nearest vet that is affordable isn’t open so we will have to play the waiting game. Normally she gets riled up about every 6-8 weeks so let’s hope she’ll be alright until then.

Xanny Dante no they do bleed too the same with dogs when they are in heat yes horny but they do bleed at times. Edit: my bad googled it and they only bleed if there’s a problem. Idk about cats in heat just dogs from family members so I assumed they might but I was wrong.

I don’t own cats or know anyone who hasn’t had their females fixed I only know mostly about dogs in heat since my uncle is ig you could consider him a breeder like he’s had 2 liters but one was unexpected but yeah... and my dads gfs girl is not fixed either but cats I don’t own since especially my mom she’s allergic to them and I have allergies to anything with fine enough hair/fur

My 5 month kitten is in heat for the first time. As a really active cat she's hard to deal w at this time. She hated belly rubs before until now when I tried it after watching this video. I think it helps sooth her slightly. Thanks for the video ❤️

@Orbite flow Yep, this is exactly the kind of nastiness that turned me off of dating. Well, that and all the lying and cheating and literally ruining my life. The stress of trying to hold my marriage together while my ex was lying, cheating, and gaslighting me triggered a chronic illness. Now I’m in pain all day every day, every minute of my life. But, sure, the fact I don’t want to put myself through that again makes *me* “toxic”. 🙄 My high school best friend was driven to a mental hospital by her controlling, abusive ex. Another friend is still in debt thanks to her gambling ex. My sister only just fixed the credit score destroyed by her ex. Most American men are taught to think only of themselves and not take responsibility for their actions. Some men don’t get taught that and some become better people in spite of that, but I’m not spending any more of my limited energy trying to find one. I know, from endless experience, that I’m not the problem. I’m actually *much* happier now that I don’t date. And the ugly replies to my simple comment is just further proof.

That actually worked! Wow... My cat got a lot calmer after an intense massage. She still got the "in heat" meow, but at least she's sitting in a chair now giving herself a bath.

My rescue kitty somehow didn’t get spayed at the clinic and went into heat. I tried to soothe her, too. When copulating, the Tom often grips the female at the back scruff of the neck. I decided to grip her scruff then massage her haunches very close to her genital area. It seemed to relive her some.

Oh my. My cat has been in heat this week in 4days too. Shes too extra sweet which is unusual and very noisy that I cant sleep at night. What i did too is extra cuddle and massaging her back and stomach.

My cat hates belly rubbing, but she will lay down on the floor by a window so that she can enjoy the sun and she just rolls around, showing her Furry little belly, but she will bite if her belly is touched. She was spayed when she was still a kitten, thank God. She loves it when her ears are rubbed, though.
