My issue is that when I get my acne cleared. As soon as I think I’m going to target my hyperpigmentation, another acne pimple pops up. I feel like I have hyperpigmentation on top of hyperpigmentation.

I love innisfree. K-beauty sunscreens usually has other actives in it like Niacinamide, which is another ingredient good for targeting hyperpigmentation.

Excellent skincare breakdown. And your skin looks great! I'm in my 40's and I have dealt with acne prone skin since puberty. I can attest that Dr. Dennis Gross products are the truth. I have used every strength of his peeling pads and they all work great. I had some hyperpigmentation on the right side of my chin due to hormonal imbalances during that time of the month and I bought his Glow Kit on sale and it's been very good at fading those dark spots. He is pricey though, but worth every penny!! I stress for black skin for us to get into Vitamin C serums and collagen. Also, get into those peptides and niacinamide. Retinol is excellent, and I use Beta Hydroxy, but just make sure of your skin sensitivity. I also use Dr. Dennis Gross Texture Renewal Serum. It's pricey, but effective as well. I didn't know that black people needed sunscreen either. I had it in my mind that we are descendants from the Motherland, we got this! BUT NO!! We do need to protect this melanin and the sun isn't playing with anyone. I was going to get Naomi Osaka's brand, Kinlo, which is affordable. However, I decided on Elta MD Skincare UV Clear. It's SP46 and it's especially for acne prone skin and hyperpigmentation. I bought it at Dermastore. I haven't worked up myself to get a chemical peel yet, but I'm going to do it later in the year. I can't wait to see your vlog!!

A great pre-cleanse substitute is micellar water! If you’re acne prone go oil free and use a gel cleanser even if it’s not dermalogica. Is it BHA? Great video!

My Black esthetician also recommended dermalogica for me as well . I like the daily exfoliant and pre cleanse, etc. I also found wonderful hydrating products with clean ingredients from burlington. I have a similar routine to yours (minus steaming and peels) and have been seeing great results !

I also recommend The Ordinary: Niacinamide and Zinc it’s really good for oil control throughout the day without drying out your skin

The Daily microfoliant i can vouch for...my skin strives with exfoliation...it's a grainy powder exfoliant (activated with water) not really beads.

Gurl where you was at when I was living in Austin! I swear I had the hardest time finding dope black women to vibe with in ATX. Idk if it was living downtown but it prompted me to go to Dallas and now I'm in Miami 🤷🏾‍♀️. I've used numerous different serums, creams, but each time I do, I get pimples and my skin gets worse. I've been trying for months. Recently, I read someone's feedback and began using litlexttra rice berry vitamin c face serum. It's working well, and I don't have acne issues anymore. My skin appears better than ever. Occasionally, I also use a besan face pack, which makes it glow even more.

This is one of my biggest stressors it almost stopped me from doing my KZfaq

SPF, Girlfriend my son's took their's to school with them, and wear it at home. I purchased SPF water resistance. for them to use at home swimming pool during the Summer. And, I buy milk or cream SPF and mix it with their body cream also. Look for the once's that is milk, not tan. As, Tan will darken your complexion. And as the say " never put a "Toasted Bread", back into the toaster, it will BURN! SPF everything. From Trini In London.

My skin has been my thorn since college. It was clearing up so nicely and suddenly in the past 2 to 3 months it has been breaking out in places it never did before. I feel defeated.
