Tbh, if I had the same issues as OP, I'd look at the auto-fold out side steps. Iirc, there's a set that can auto-fold when you lock/unlock the vehicle and potentially after the motor is shut off too

Have you ever drove one? They’re fun and it feels like you’re in a hovercraft being that high. Also really nice to be able to see over cars to know what’s going on past the cars infront of you. I probably wouldn’t go the lifted route if I got a truck by I get why people do it.

@drinkswatere find my regular trucks fine enough. Anything I have trouble getting in and out of is clown territory to me. Have 0 use for it.

​​​Yeah, you can see six cars ahead of you but not what's directly in front of the truck. It's been shown that these things cut off visibility of what's close to you which is arguably much more important. As for hate from other drivers, it's usually the fact that being lifted literally makes your normal lights into high beams. That plus them usually being LED means you blind a lot of other people on the road at night. There's also the fact that because they're so big, they're considered commercial vehicles so auto manufacturers don't have to make them crash compatible with other vehicles. Ironically a lot of people buy them because they believe they're safer, but it's actually worse for all involved. And lastly, a personal gripe for me is how impractical they are in cities. I swear every single day I see one failing to fit into a parallel parking space or taking up two compact spaces.

@@drinkswatere Because they're a danger to everyone else on the road. Lifted Trucks/Leaning trucks should be banned. Nobody can see but you, and you can't see smaller vehicles. Can't tell you how many times I've seen a lifted truck hit an exotic car at a car meet, because they couldn't see them.

It’s older than 1996, meaning pre obd2, so depending on state, it may be exempt from inspection. I know in my state it would be. Thats just one of many reasons I love driving old trucks lol.
