I did something similar. In my late 20s I knew I would never make money doing what I wanted to do, so I developed a plan. I decided I would work for 40 years at whatever jobs I could find, to earn my government pension, but I would read in my spare time. Then I would write when I retired. It worked till I was 60, though employers constantly tried to fire me because I wasn't "ambitious." I was wrongfully dismissed in 2015 and decided "that was it." Since then I was written sixteen books and one pending (to be published late in 2021).

My husband was a professional photographer. The definition of professional is to be paid for the job, even if it’s a dollar . He made more than a dollar lol but you have to start somewhere. You have a good eye just because you hadn’t used that equipment before didn’t make you deceptive. They hired you for the talent they saw.

To all the young people out there (well, also to the old ;) - Kalle is sooo right: just give it a try even when you don't yet feel ready, most of the time the worst thing is really that you are in the same place than before if it doesn't work out, but mentally you're a little step ahead then. (and some people - like me - will never be 100% sure to be ready, so I would still be on the starting line if not trying)

Oh Kalle, I can't believe that you had the courage to that...This is such an inspiring story! I was very motivated to start filmmaking, but then I fell in a big depression last year and it didn't make any sense to me anymore. About 2 months ago I moved to Sweden from Germany. I'm currently working on organic farms and places that practice permaculture and I'm so happy with my life again. Your story inspires me to start my creative filmmaking journey again... eventhough I only have my mobilephone, I have a Mac to cut. Maybe I reach out to my dad to send me his camera... Thank you so so much for being in this world, Kalle! Greetings and much love, Henry ❤️🦋☀️

Man, I wish I saw this video ten years ago when I started out as a photographer. I always felt like I was "winging it" when everyone else in the biz had their sh*t together. I know now that's not true, and I'm so glad things worked out for you! Well done!! Being in situations like the one you were in, are absolutely terrifying. I have a similar story, where I was fresh out of photography school, but still felt like I had no idea what I was doing. By a coincidence, a TV production company gave me a gig. It went well in the end, but everything that could go wrong, went wrong. The rain that day on location broke the circuit on one of my lamps, my printer wasn't working (they needed the pictures I took, printed within a few hours) and my Mac blacked out seconds after I finished the job. Long story short, it all worked out in the end, and this is now an experience I'm happy I've had. I'm so happy you're talking about this, thank you so much for sharing. I hope every aspiring creative/artist/whatever people want to be sees this

I don't know how you can always be so timely to me! This is just what I needed to hear for inspiration or confidence. I just got my AAS in digital design & found that I absolutely love video editing! But I went back to school at the age of 53 to get this degree. And now I really, really want to do video editing but am intimidated because of all the "young" kids and people who can do it so much better than me! Thanks for reminding me that I don't need to know everything in order to do something. It's funny that you mention using the little digicam. All my videos have been shot from my cell phone! But actually, given that fact, I think they're pretty good! 😊 thank you once again Kalle! You've always been an inspiration to me!!

I actually trying to capture my emotions right now but I barely can. One thing I want to tell you Kalle is, it was not a lie, it was your infinite higher self stepping the skeptical, overthinking mind aside to carry out the action of your true calling. This is magic. Man you have no idea what emotions I’m experiencing right now.. thank you for having the courage and awareness to talk about this ego defeating subject. Start before you're ready I think, I'm doing it now, and I have just a few people, who realises this. Because everybody is just "first you need to learn ALL about it, and theeen you should start..." But I just keep doing what I want - of course, learning too, but also doing. It was so important for me to hear the same thought from some creator, whom I trust! Thank you, Kalle!

Thank you for your honesty and making the world clear, that there is nothing bad in being honest! Too many people (including me) try to hide themselves or pretend to be someone else than tey actually are. Yes, it is sometimes hard to see, that not everyone likes then us, but those who like us are the ones, who like us because who we really are. "Start before you are ready" was for nee to one ofe the most touching messages. I am also the person who tries to have everything organised and prepared before I start doing something and then I and up doing nothing at all, because I am never prepared :S

Coming from a family of very science-oriented people, I was convinced I have no artistic skills whatsoever for nearly 30 years - then last year I started dabbling in painting, drawing, illustrating and while I still feel like a complete newbie, I do find a lot of joy in doing it. However, every time my friends call something I made 'art' or say that I am an artist I quickly correct them to say I am no such thing, but after watching this video I will stop doing that and just roll with it. So thank you for the pep talk 🌲🌲🌲

Where are all those "instructors" from "school" now; still "teaching"? Do any of them have 111K subscribers? If so, do they produce material in which people enjoy and experience true relaxation and a calming effect when watching? As for Guitar, if anyone listens as you play but doesn't watch, can they truly say that you're "doing it wrong"? I can't read music enough to play by, and don't know a thing about music theory, but can certainly make serious music when I want to (as long as I play regularly)! Keep doing what you enjoy doing Kalle. We will be here waiting to watch! Or listen!
