I can relate. I didn’t grow up with dogs either. My husband and I got a Shih Tzu from my daughter. She will be 12 in September and we’ve had her for 11 years. She goes everywhere with us. With a very Washington state and we have traveled north west to the coast down to Arizona over to Montana and everywhere in between. She goes boating and camping with us and loves the beach. She had emergency surgery for stones in her urethra and bladder about four years ago and the canned food they wanted her own I refused to give her so I came up with a plan of my own and started watching Dr. Becker and others.

My rescued Lhasa just had her bladder surgery, she’s 4 and was give up by her last two owners because of her multiple UTI ( poor girl), I took her in and consequently she received much needed surgery to remove stones from her bladder and it was full of struvite stones. I too, refused to feed her prescription diet, I cook for her follow guideline of Dr. Becker and others to keep her urine acidified, lots of broth and pee pee breaks. I hope your dog is still doing well and stone free.

They don't tell us the environment and commercial food usually cause stones due to ph issues. Praying for good things

Billy you saved my heart Dogs life 4 years ago , Ari was deathly ill from liver Disease your 50/50 calorie split with Goats milk pulled him through . i will be for ever grateful. its a brilliant plan.

LOVE This!!! I became familiar with Billy when I switched my dog over to Answers. Unfortunately, due to pancreatitis, she could no longer tolerate it. Soon thereafter, I heard the "news"...Much Respect to You, Dr. Judy AND Billy!!! Loved this great interview!!! Billy's knowledge & expertise, as well as his thorough explanations are always so enlightening & appreciative!!!

I adopted a Newfoundland 1.5 ago, he was at 128 on a kibble previous owner fed. Im feeding orgin kibble w/ gently cooked turkey, broccoli, pumpkin, bone broth & petlab probiotic, natures protection, Dr. J PEA. Rupert has put on 15lbs😢 ( my fault from treats) as i board, dog daycare. I just ordered Dr. Harvey as i working up raw diet for Rupert. He gets good amount of exercise. Im stumped & need help😅😢

I will try it in Instantpot. 2 cups full fat coconut milk 1 tBsp corn starch 1 tsp powder yogurt starter OR 2 tablespoon store-bought unsweetened coconut yogurt Instructions To begin making the coconut yogurt, start by setting aside 1tbsp of coconut milk to mix the yogurt starter into. Meanwhile, heat up the coconut milk and cornstarch together over medium heat, till the mixture reaches 82ºC, stirring occasionally. Leave the milk to cool down till between 42-44ºC and then add in the 1 teaspoon yogurt starter and coconut milk combination into the heated coconut milk and mix well. -OR- If you are using a store-bought coconut yogurt, just add it to the heated coconut milk and stir well. This coconut yogurt mixture now needs to be 'incubated'** at around 44ºC for around 10-12 hours minimum. You can even leave it for up to 16 hours for a thicker, more tart yogurt. You can then store your coconut yogurt in a sterilised glass jar in the fridge. This usually lasts between 5-7 days. Notes * Corn starch is used to make the yogurt thicker, as non-dairy yogurt, in general, has a thinner consistency than dairy yogurt. Instead of corn starch, you can also use tapioca powder or arrowroot powder, which are all natural thickeners. ** In terms of how to incubate the mix, if you

I cook my organic milk with yogurt button 24 hours for the least lactose...and MANY PROBIOTICS....whey goes to the dogs.

Reg food stores sell human grade food which allows higher levels of bacteria bc they know humans cook it, so I cook the meat if you make dog food from gro store meats.

Thanks! Exactly At end he mentions "Years ago dogs ate real food they lived 20 years..." Kombucha GOOD to know...I thought I had to steer from tea..1 tsp per day ok AND LIKE HUMANS VARY DIET Info starts at 10 minute mark...

Hi I don’t know if you will see this but here is hoping. I have a I think 10 year old small breed rescue dog and I wanted to ask about the food I am feeding her. I know that homemade raw is the absolute best my problem is not only am a worried about balance it right but where to find the ingredients as well as cost. That and I live a fast pace life so I went for the commercial primal nuggets brand freez dried. I also hydrated it with bone broth and give her the primal brand raw goat milk. Am I doing a good job for using a commercial food or can I do something better. I just took her to the vet because I noticed a small white lump they test said it is non cancerous but now I am worried. I want to give her the best chance of making to 19 or even 20. Any recommendations.

Feeding pre-made food is fine! I use Viva Raw and AllProvide and Darwin's for my dogs and cats along with some Dr. Harvey's pre-mix sometimes. Lots of rotation. I love raw goat milk - check out Green Juju - most cost-effective and highest grade I think.

You would have to ask the pet food company as I'm sure not all farmers feed the same.

My 1 yo 4 lb dog does not care for raw, but loves Freeze-dried raw. Is it ok to add occasionally COOKED chicken breast to the freeze dried chicken nugget, or will that mess up the gut? I cannot find an answer to that question anywhere. Thank you in advance.

@@ILkaterlyn - I feed Primal freeze dried. She loves it. I will be introducing lightly cooked soon. My last dog had so many allergies that I really wanted to feed this one raw. She doesn't care for it-same brand. I would love to throw in some fresh food for now. I have to be careful, because she came to me at 5 months, undernourished and Giardia....

Who can afford these foods besides CEO's and doctors? I would love to buy all these products, but they cost too much for my wallet and I am unable to get a job. So, I'll keep feeding my dog 50% gently cooked pup loaf and 50% the best kibble I can afford, 1/4 cup raw goat milk, plus human grade and home made treats daily. Unfortunately, my dog won't eat anything from the counter I'm eating besides chicken... he LOVES chicken. He especially loves chicken gizzards.
