Honestly I’ve never saw Haley as being mean, just someone with no filter. Like when she says if it wasn’t for you cloths you’d look cute, I never read that as her being snarky but her honesty trying to give you advice and just wording it poorly. I saw her as the type of person who can be absolutely savage without her having any intention too be, and having no idea why what she said made anyone angry.

The Haley hate is so unjustified. Most of the single people in town are quite rude and dismissive when you first meet. This mod is great, but the base game Haley storyline is super nice and sweet, too. Haley has the best character development in the game. Shane gets better but his 10 and 14 heart events suck.

Haley is soooo Barbie coded it’s crazy. The fashion show moment is so sweet I love her

i honestly just thought she was a little rude initially kinda like shane was, but same as him it only felt like she was just lonely. just not so obvious when she doesn't use the public tavern to cope. girl spent hours standing alone in front of a fountain and never had nights out or even nights in with her sister or any close friends. she never seems rude beyond the point of the struggle a lot of the characters feel of being out of place/directionless in a place they really had little choice but to stay in. she's not even that mean to emily, they're just sisters who live together in their old house and they're gonna be sick of one another fairly often. when they're not, their interests are aligned enough that i honestly imagine they work on fashion and art together a lot. the only person i can imagine her being extremely antagonistic towards is clint. a fun thing to imagine with her photography hobby is her just making a little set of covert photos of him following and staring at emily and just giving them to him with a little smiley threat also, to be fair to her early dialogue... the farmer probably does fucking reek after a full day of chopping wood, tending livestock, and murdering creatures in the mines. if pierre's any kind of businessman he's gotta be selling menthol creams, floor cleaner, and air fresheners to everyone else in town so they can cope

I have always thought that Haley was severely misunderstood by a lot of the fandom. Sure, she can come off as a little rude at first. But she truly shows she has a heart of gold the more you get to know her. And as an AFAB person with autism and ADHD, I feel like I can relate to her in some ways: having a hard time fitting in, coming off as rude when you are just being honest, and overall being dismissed as a ditzy blonde girl when you have so much more to offer. I like to think that her and Alex’s relationship is purely platonic-like in canon-but they also feel a need to be something more for each other because of their internalized heteronormativity. I headcanon Haley as sapphic because I simply cannot imagine her any other way, and Alex has major bi jock vibes. They take solace in each other’s company because they both feel somewhat outside of their own communities. And now that I’m saying all this out loud, I feel like I need to write a fanfiction about the two of them exploring their identities together 😅

Honestly, haley is mean to you at first, but so is Shane. And everyone loves Shane so to all the Shane lovers, don't hate on Haley when you love someone who won't even want to talk to you till you have 4 hearts with him. And then even after you marry him his life still isn't together. Edit: I see a lot of people saying "Shane is depressed thats why he is rude" and "Those are bad people to compare" and I get it. Shane was just the first npc I could think of. Everyone has their own type. So if you like Haley, that's cool. If you don't, then that's cool too. After all you should marry the npc you like. If you like Alex, or Sam, or Harvy, then thats cool. If you dont like penny, or leah, or emily, that's cool. You control who you marry in the game. As you are the player.

The game creator really should have done something more about Haley and Emily’s relationship as sisters. One is the model type, the other is the tailor. They’d rule the region with fashion and shows. I like them being connected in this mod.
