Recently a viewer asked me some really good questions. Today I'm going to answer the first one. It's a question I get asked a lot. How did I find a legal parking spot for my tiny house on wheels. My situation is obviously unique to my location and country but maybe my experience can offer you some insights and ideas when you are looking for your own spot.
Next week, I will answer the second part of the question my viewer asked: Do I feel safe here in the mobile home park?
It would be awesome to hear if you have any other questions. Leave your comments below.

Our community (we live here too) is fabulous! Soon we will be able to walk to literally everything. We can hike through the forest to the park and river below. People pay a fortune to enjoy what we enjoy in this location. We would not trade living here for anything and we moved here 6 years ago. It's a privilege to live in the city like this.

That is a great question for this video! My life is now surrounded by peoples preconceived ideas, of me. Just trailer park alone, has a stigma that is ignorant! I do not live in a park but I also don't judge people under any circumstance ❤️ Something harder and harder to find in people! 🙏🙏🏻🙏🏽🙏🏿🙏🏼🌏

I'm glad you found a solution there. I just think it's a shame that there's still a lot of resistance to tiny houses on wheels in so many places. While I can understand some of the benefits of RVIA/CFA certification, my observation is that it's also a gimmick to keep the building of the homes firmly in the large RV/mobile home factories, of which many tend to deliver "mobile home quality" homes and to charge high prices for them. I remember you quoted the price of your home (which is a very, very nice home, by the way) in another video, and I'm sorry, but >$100,000 (US) is an insanely high price for a tiny and it totally defeats the purposes most people have for choosing a tiny home. The whole point is, if not for RVIA/CFA certification requirements, people could build themselves, or hire competent contractors to build, a nice tiny house for a fraction of that price, to whatever quality suits them. Insurance is certainly a concern. But if parks made the homeowners provide their own liability insurance, there surely is a workaround to be found there. All things considered, I think I'd be doing the rural property thing and just say no to RV and mobile home parks.

I live in a mobile home park now, although I will eventually end up at a friend's land this would be a great temp fix..im hoping to get serious come summer about nailing down a design (love yours may have to do similar). Os your park expensive for your little home..o know land rent for mobile is 700 wondering of less for a smaller lot or smaller home..ill have to look into this

Hi Gemma! Well, I think finding a good builder is key. Using a professional, who only builds tiny homes. They have unique challenges that conventional sized homes don’t have. Also, research where and how to park legally. I’m so glad you are enjoying the videos. I approach it like I’m just having a chat with a good friend ☺️.

It’s how the trailer is registered. It’s a vehicle so it needs to be registered as either a RV, mobile home or park model.

Are you worried about rent stabilization? You rent the pad and the mobile park owner can increase rent at will. Happens in many places now that they are looked as investments. Pad renters have no choice but leaving if there home can be truly mobile. Are you at the mercy of the park owner?

Sure, anyone who rents would be. I’m moving to BC next spring anyway so I’m not concerned. I’ve got a friend with some land that I can park on and I plan to eventually buy a small piece.
