Hello Friends!
This week I discuss some of the heating options for tiny homes, what I have and why I made my choice.
BTU stands for British Thermal Units. Here's a calculator you can use to figure out what you'll need for your tiny house: sureflame.ca/btu-calculator/
Leave your questions with the hashtag: #Q&A and I’ll try to answer them in a future Q&A. If you have suggestion for future videos that is also much appreciated.
Also, please give the video a thumbs up if you liked it and, most importantly, subscribe 😍 as that lets KZfaq know they should recommend this content to other tiny house enthusiasts!
Thanks for watching 🙏🏽!

So, just wanted to tell you, I'd never thought about tiny houses, I don't really think I'll ever get one (but who knows...) regardless I have watched all your videos 🙂 there's something about your energy thats soothing and as I'm going through a divorce it's something I really need right now. It may sound silly but it feels like listening to a friend... so thanks for putting these videos out there 🙏 And the way Sofia (Sophia?) looks at you is just heart warming 🥰

@@myBIGtinyhouselife thanks so much Adelina for your kind words. It's what everyone keeps telling, and I do believe that if other women who have gone through what I'm going through were able to be happy again, then why not me? It's just that right know it seems like such a far fetched prospect 😕 Anyways, on a brighter subject, do you decorate Serendipity for Christmas ? Would love to see a video on that, if you like the idea 🙂

Adelina, hello and welcome to my slightly bigger tiny house. I live in a mobile home park in Penticton BC. I admire your courage to pare down your belongings and just say "Goodbye Cruel World!" and leave conven- tonal living behind. Your info is very good for newbies and people that are going tiny! Have you ever considered doing a short intro giving your viewers your name etc. Just a bit about yourself would be really friendly. I know you have to safe and keep away the"crazies!" but an overall bio would give us a water view of your- self! I bet you would double your audience ! If you could take us on a tour of your area;like the nearby parks or towns that would expand your aud- Iience as well Love your attitude and charming manner - keep it up! Cheers Sandy&Andy

Another thing to consider about using wood heat inside your tiny home/RV is that can be prohibited by 1) your municipality 2) your campground/RV park 3) your homeowners/RV insurance.

Thanks for the video Adelina,,,In another video can you show what sort of heat and ambiance you get from the electric fire..I take your point about the wood stove. I have a yurt heated by wood and I can regulate this fairly well actually and keep it in (just) overnight ...but I take your point that it has to become a priority which is OK for a few days !!!!! Its brilliant for me , but I dont live full time in the Yurt. A month or two at a time is OK but in Canadian winters that would be a real bind, needing a separate shed and a rearrangement of your lifestyle I imagine. ..I am in the UK so our winters aren't so dramatic usually.

@@myBIGtinyhouselife No Adelina...the warmest place E VER in winter ..as long as you live in it correctly, that means air it well>>The central hearth in a traditional Yurt or Ger is actually a practical way I believe in creating a circular air system as there is a flap that can be raised and lowered. The floor needs special attention. Mine has been improved this year with a really excellent footings and replacement of the floor (as in my photo in my group in the media section)...But again wood storage and consumption is a factor one would need to take into account here too.

Can I make a plea to anyone with a wood burner, PLEASE consider your neighbours. I live in a small village in the UK and the smoke from my neighbours fires is some times so intense that I,m unable to go outside. Thank goodness new laws are being introduced to ban traditional coal and wet wood in the UK. Another form of heating which most people over look is clothing. Nice thick woolly clothing goes a long way to keeping us warm. I often see people walking around their houses in shorts and t-shirts in winter and they complain about their fuel bills. Dressing accordingly seems a cheap and environmentally friendly way to stay a bit warmer.
