The kids are so funny. What lucky kids to be able to be at home with mom and not in daycare. I love it!

gosh, people with the negative comments about the kids being a distraction need to grow up! they weren't that bad at all, if it was really that distracting then you all don't have much of a attention span Haha I liked seeing them, shows what us mummas put up with Haha thankyou for this tutorial, I'm not to scared to attempt my cake decorating skills for my sons first birthday :) awesome tute!

Thank you for this! I'm not the best cake decorator and needed something simple for a Moana cake and I could do this!! I'm nervous about working with fondant but buttercreame bring it on, thank you so much! I would love to know what colors you used so it will blend nicely, the colors they show on the icing color tops never seem to be accurate when I color the buttercream.

Also bij, this cake is legit. I might do the same only opposite way so it looks like a horizon kinda thing. Or even like sunset colors, ty for inspiring me.

if you started from the bottom and worked your way up, you wouldn't be fighting gravity...

That does sound more logical
@TheOriginalOrkdoop3 жыл бұрын
Didn't seem like she was fighting any gravity to me...
@lizlaramie37153 жыл бұрын
She's fighting gravity because she should be using an offset spatula that is twice the size as the one she has
@BettyAlexandriaPride3 жыл бұрын
I know this is old, but I just assumed she wanted the colors to blend light to dark versus dark to light. I guess icing doesn't work the same as acrylics, though. 😅
@lizlaramie37153 жыл бұрын
@@BettyAlexandriaPride it does actually work very similar to acrylics, however the consistency of the icing would mean that you need a bigger tool, and she should have started at the top and worked her way down to let gravity do a lot of the work for her
@alissay988 жыл бұрын

How do you get your frosting so white? When I make buttercream it always turns out a pale yellow or a off white. If you could explain that would be great (: Love your son he is so cute
@nacirema19792 жыл бұрын
The butter and vanilla make traditional buttercream a pale yellow. My understanding is that a clear vanilla and/or shortening are used to get a more pure white color.
