GIRL?!?? A 43/45??? THAT IS ACTUALLY INSANE 😭 I'm doing IB right now, in the first year- but I had an older sibling who just finished so I've seen how insanely difficult the diploma is T-T. This is so helpful! I'm only a sophomore in high school, but I'm going to be going to college for med. And I'm going to be the first to go to college in my immediate family, out of 8 people, and i feel so much pressure to succeed. I've done online school all my life and i feel like that will make it harder for me to get accepted since i don't have many opportunities. But im hoping to get as much done in the next 2 years as possible to further my chances. Thank you sheena!!

Sheena, first of all, i luv ur videos! they give me so much motivation to study! second, as you said extracurriculars are very important in a college application, but i do not have as many extracurriculars (i do have a certificate from a recent competition i participated in, but most of the stuff i did is from when i was in class 5 and before that (more specifically when i was 10, i am 17 now)), and i was curious as to whether those would be accepted or not. also i cant do a lot of extracurriculars now since only a few more months are left till my graduation so if there are any extracurriculars that i might be able to manage with exam prep, pls do recommend them. Heyy! I applied for unis abroad as an Indian(I’m guessing by your name that you are South Asian as well) and applications usually ask for extracurriculars that one has done in their high school i.e 9th grade to 12th grade only.

⁠@@ayushiparihar2641there is no such thing as how many extracurriculars- there is no maximum or minimum number you got to do. What I’ve noticed is that they want your extracurriculars to reflect your interests or hobbies or the things that will help you in the career you are interested to pursue or qualities that you said you have. Like if you say you like painting then your ECs can include art competitions you may have participated in or anything related to art similarly if you say you have leadership qualities or that u can lead a team/work well with ppl yada yada then your ECs should attest the statements you made; if you say you want to go into research then you can prove your passion by taking part in some student led research/start a research in a topic you are interested in. Basically like I said before, you have to show that you have gone an extra mile to do things you are passionate about aside from your studies. Your ECs can be 2 or 3 also,if those are the things that you like to do or you are really interested/passionate about and a bonus would be that these ECs reflect the course you wanna take in uni/pursue a career in. PS it’s a very long and confusing reply 😂 plz forgive me😅 but I hope you understand or get an idea about how things work. And if u are already a senior rn and serious about applying abroad then gurlllll better hurry up since most of the uni applications are already approaching their deadline, some already have as far as I know.

This is giving me so much inspiration, exams are not going very well and I am in my last year! I do not know what to do and I'm seriously very stressed because I'am unsure about what to do with my life. I like medicine so I am studying Biology and Chemistry but I also like Physics... The problem is that I cannot do the three of them because my school doesn't allow it. What am I going to do... In my country there is a different education system and I didn't have the chance to do an IB. The worst part is that I have an 8,9 from 10 in my Junior year (or less)... I just messed up. Although I also do conservatory (I am coursing 6th professional grade of piano), I think is a really bad note and I don't have too much time to make it better or change of subjects to do another career (If I turn up to don't like it), so I also research for biomedical engineering or something like that... Well, I am writing this without any reason but I am really scared about future...

For reading: the answer is ALWAYS in the passage so do not infer! For math: memorize HOW to answer specific question types (find often repeated difficult question formats) and practice!

What's so impressive about going to S.C., or S.C.'s Annenberg in particular? Add to that, S.C. is private, unlike its next-door neighbor in Westwood. I bet many kiddos around the world, just like you, would love to go to their "dream school" S.C. if their rich parents could afford the tuition. Also, only the ignorant will care about undergrad rankings. As long as it is within the top 30ish, they are all about the same. Heck, for a brief moment, I thought you were getting a free ride from S.C. for working on your PhD in quantum computing. Lastly, if you can afford to go to pilates classes on a weekday morning and to take a nap afterwards, then I am 100% sure you are just going to chill during your next four undergrad years in L.A.
