I got into every school I applied to... here's how (Stats/Extracurriculars for Stanford & The Ivies)

How I got into Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, UPenn, USC, WashU, Swarthmore, Rice, Santa Clara, CU Boulder, DU, CSU, and Colorado School of Mines!
Applying to college was a super stressful process and I had no idea how it would turn out. I truly believe there is no "one way" to get accepted into ivy leagues and top schools but I think my stats like GPA, SAT, and ACT and extracurriculars may be helpful as guides for what are "needed" for top schools.
I don't have a good answer for "how to get into Harvard or Stanford" but I do know what they knew about me that resulted in my acceptance!
I also think my recommendations were a large deciding factor, as well as my media publications like news clips, articles, and my academic research publication.
I do realize I applied to a lot of schools as well but I was able to tackle that by starting my college applications (Common App) August 1st and finishing September 1st before senioritis set in.
It's also not just about what you put on your college applications but how you write your college essays and are able to show the admissions office WHO you are. Good college essay writing is SUPER important and can make or break an application.

Don’t. Nobody does nearly as much as she does. It’s not healthy. Plus, nevermind socioeconomic stuff, it’s an extreme privilege to function in a way that she does to be able to do all these things (even though of course she worked extremely hard). I bet 99% of people don’t function like she does.

I got into college without applying, but I was a highschool football player recruited to play big time college football. I swear, I never applied! I got the scholarship papers in the mail, my highschool coach came to pick me up to send them off, and that was that! Lol smh However, my son will get into all 8 ivies plus Stanford and MIT, I was no scholar!, at age 18.So we have come a long way! Lol

it's okay, take hard classes though and do the classes you like to do with passion, if you plan on attending prestigious schools they don't wanna see what you think they wanna see, they wanna see passion and commitment for something you like to do, still take hard classes and reach for hard goals and extracurriculars. they also want unique people, what makes you YOU! then again the acedemic pool is very impressive and after looking at this video you get a clear idea of how far applicants will go to get accepted to their dream school. even though it sets a goal for yourself that you should reach. ivies and Stanford aren't all about the acedemic they're also about character too (leadership skills, good examples, willing to learn, etc.) if you do plan on I too look at past year common app essay, universal college essays, etc. to see what made them outshine other applicants, such as a hard time in your life that made you grow (poverty, moving different countries, etc) okay but in general work as hard as you can and just be yourself. the skies the limit!

Don't worry. Freshman year is primarily a time for you to learn how to grab ahold of the ropes and learn what you love. Take your sophomore year seriously though, you won't regret it.

you know what that's actually kind of comforting/relieving to know. she did so many extra-curriculars, took so many honor/AP classes and has so many awards, it was pretty much making me feel like i wasn't good enough to enter an ivy league (which is one of my dreams). thank you for your comment

Huge congrats! Tuning in from London, just finished the equivalent to my sophomore year, going into junior year. I have a GPA of 4.0 unweighted and dream of going to the Ivy League schools, I cannot wait to take the ACT, your videos are so inspirational both my parents went to excellent universities in the UK and I am determined to be different and show them how good I am and be a lawyer in the US, not living in my fathers shadow in the UK! i didn’t get into any clubs my freshman and sophomore year, but i’ve been on varsity women’s basketball all years and i’ve maintained a 3.5 unweighted and a 3.8 weighted gpa. I wish I had the time to do all of those extracurricular activities and such when I just immigrated to the US 9 months ago as a 10th Grader. I came here having no idea how the education system works and started my Sophomore year late because of our flight schedule. My previous school had no idea how to handle an immigrant from the Philippines and never even let me took a PSAT and allowed me to join extracurricular activities. I'm now a rising junior and I feel so pressured to do all of these things in just 2 years...

Patricia De Leon you should talk about that experience when you apply ... that story will help you stand out from other applicants. And if there is an extracurricular that you want to try in the next two years, don’t feel like it’s to late, cause it’s never to late. @@teymilly6815 Hey, I have a master's in physics from a Russell group university and the academics in my department frequently take on volunteer research assistants. However, I've only ever seen them take on university students due to the complexity of the research. Asking over the Summer holidays would probably be your best shot since that's when they're usually looking for help for relatively short research projects.

after watching your last video I was just so in shock and started planning for my future, which is really weird since I'm only in eighth grade (lol). you seem like such a hardworking person and deserve every acceptance you received. my only question would really be how were you able to balance all of your courses and extracurricular activities? i look forward to watching your videos in the future and have already subscribed! :)

This is my biggest issue. It has been bugging me since my early sophomore year: I don't have very many opportunities at my school regarding AP classes and other extracurriculars. I really want to be an Ivy student and I am working very hard, but i feel like I just don't have enough accomplished. Can you provide me with some tips? Very recent but big fan of you!

I'm a sophomore in highschool but I'm pretty sure the admissions officers know the available AP classes you have. You can also self study for AP exams through independent studies if you're willing to put in the time (might not get a highschool credit but you'd receive the college credit if you score high enough)

You could also try taking courses at a local community college or some other equivalent. Your extracurriculars don’t necessarily have to be tied to school-for example you could do creative writing on your own, start your own blog, or code on your own (I don’t know what your interests are, so that’s up to you). But you seem motivated so I’m sure that’ll shine through in your application.

I'm in the same situation! My school only offers 6 AP classes and 0 honors classes (we have 3 accelerated classes), so I've been considering doing online AP classes or doing them at a local college. I'm just not sure if my high school will count them.

You wanna know something I appreciate? She actually engages with the camera and talks with excitement. Most "College Decision Reaction" videos they just use that annoying sort-of strained voice with the over the top editing and say stuff along the lines of "Oh, that's cool I got into Harvard. Oh, I didn't get into MIT? That's because I'm an idiot *zoom in on face with gray filter on lol." You're the best :)
