Factory tech……..tires set to 90 for transportation, when tied down on train or transport truck they won’t flat spot. That’s the reason, should be adjusted to door sticker at time of delivery. All fluids are in truck when built, including 5 gallons of fuel. The only fluid added at time of pdi is washer fluid. Been following since first video, thanks for the tip on tailgate, never know when you might learn something, good job.

Thanks for the comment. I actually asked the dealer regarding the fluids. They said they do everything. Maybe some dealers are different? Maybe they get a better deal? Not sure but yeah. They also said they fill up the tank. Thanks again 👍

@@NickMango nick, I actually asked my dealer when buying my 21 Cummins if they fill fluids or are the pre filled at factory. He said they check everything and top off as needed. If you have a chance I would love to know the length of tailgate shock.

Yeah what’s strange is there’s no way to load the vehicle without it running. Unless there’s a machine that winches them up. Very strange.

On my 2017 Ram 2500 Cummins, even 200 pounds in the bed dramatically improved the ride-on stock tires and PSI

I put light duty tires on my RAM 2500 and drove around with 30 psi. It was a standard cab with gas motor and rear wheel drive. This was before tire sensors. The truck, empty, was lighter than a four wheel drive light duty truck.

I tried hitting the traction control off button after a friend of mine said it would help increase MPG, and found it added about 2 MPG with my 6.4L Hemi in my 2018 Power Wagon. Takes a bit to keep remembering to hit it every time I get in the truck, but after a while it becomes a habit. Also started doing that with my 2016 Wrangler JK and got about the same improvement.

I run the recommend 60 in the front because the truck is still heavy in the front. I keep 40 in the back when not towing. AlphaOBD will allow you to change your own min pressures. Great videos.

My 21 Ram 2500 was also set at 90 psi. The ride was terrible! I was so bummed. I keep mine at 70ish so I don’t have to air up when I tow heavy. MUCH better ride. Ride also has gotten better as springs have been loaded/unloaded several cycles.

They sell them to do work not just drive around. Most people that by trucks use them as trucks. Check your manual for weight load

Great talk about dealer prep. My tires are at 74-ish psi from dealer still having only about 1,050 miles on new truck. I just had all the snow plow equipment mounted and I built a ballast box for behind the rear wheel well of the 8ft bed. Plow is about 740 lbs on front and 540 ballast in rear to even axle weight distribution. I was thinking of getting a leveling kit....still deciding which one. I am definitely going to lower psi on tires and see what that does. Appreciate the user experience you share in your videos.

Thanks for posting this. I just got a 2022 3500 Limited CTD HO a month ago. I've been trying to deal with the rough ride. I checked the PSI as you suggested, sure enough, all tires are between 88 and 92 psi. Much appreciated!

Pretty good info. I am about to begin the effort of doing whatever I can to improve the ride of my 99 F250 7.3. Was going to buy a new 2024 truck but seems like there is millions of new trucks around and the drive out price was ridiculous. And I like my 99 7.3 so have decided to budget in a full suspension change plus new wheels and tires. Plus new paint etc. And keep it. But first a major suspension upgrade as it is driven daily and has always been very rough. Interesting site and it was helpful.

I just bought a new 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel right before X-MAS of 2023. After having 2 previous Ram 1500’s both also bought new 1996 and 2010 respectively. The ride in this truck is terrible compared to the 1500’s. Can’t wait to try your suggestions. Will comment again after I lower the air pressure in the tires, sway bar and leveling kit.

Great info! Wish I knew about the tire pressure issue a couple months ago when I test drove a new 2023 RAM 2500 Rebel with less than 10 miles on the odometer. The ride felt terribly rough around the town roads and county highways. It sure would have helped to know about checking the tire pressure, as I ended up walking away from the deal. 🤨

Your truck looks awesome. When I watched your first vids and you talked about replacing the chrome with the black trim, I wasn't sure where you were going with this. But then with the replacement bumpers and the fender flares, and the leveling, now I see it. It looks good. I hope your channel grows. I think it's a good resource for straight talk about moderately big projects you can do yourself. Can't wait to see what else you do with your truck.

Nick, great vid and totally true on the front. I pull trailers long freeway miles 6,000lb-10,000 on my 2021 Power Wagon. The Thuren rear track bar is totally needed too. I was fish tailing so bad i thought i had flat tires and The Thuren kit solved the issue.

That's interesting. I have a 17 Power Wagon. I tow my race car to the track several times a season (6600lb load). I tow at ~80mph. The truck is solid even at higher speeds with crosswinds and choppy roads. The only control issues I had and that was without the trailer was the horrible tires. They were Load D Good Year Duratracs and they were very unstable at highway speed even running empty. I quickly removed them then replaced them with some good Load E tires. That made all the difference.

Ok say like my small astro van bounces so bad by removing seats. I've installed a bed and living arrangement. Is it wise with the weight inside to lower my tires from 38 to say 32lbs. .
@NickMango
@NickMango 2 жыл бұрын
Lowering the psi won’t really help your situation too much, but it’s free to try. So I would do it. The thing is you dropped a lot of weight, which means your suspension is basically too stiff now for the weight. I’m wondering though, once you have all your gear and food and clothes, will it be better. It’s tough to know till you try. Load it up with stuff. Again, this is free to test. GL

I was looking at a Carli leveling kit for my 2500 Hemi, But they seem to be completely oriented toward diesels. You have the Thuren and seem to like it on your Hemi. I am starting to wonder whether these are primarily for diesels with their extra 1K of weight in front. Oh, I just put a Fab Fours matrix pre-runner bumper on mine. I have the off road package and the bilsteins. The bumper didn't really help the ride much... But, I am noticing how much you like the leveling kit... Have you looked at the Carli before you did your Thuren?

Depends. Tire pressure is based on weight. Maximum pressure for maximum weight. If you're running empty all the time at maximum psi, you'll wear the tires out fast.
