Here's an update on my edges! The first part of the video is my review/update on my experience using THE ORDINARY Multi-Peptide Serum For Hair Density and the second part is my experiencing losing my edges AGAIN after my second set of braids and growing them back during my summer of wash n gos. 2021 has literally left me edgeless multiple times but God remains faithful. I just want to stress that I ONLY used Serum for a period of fewer than 6 weeks very inconsistently before getting the second set of braids. I haven't used it again since.

Agreed! I'm in my 40s. 2020 stress along with the usual stress made me have bald spots around my edges for the first time in life. Y'all pray and watch KZfaq videos like this one and follow through! Be consistent and massage your scalp. Still stressed but my edges are growing back!

I found a solution to revive edges! Use a blow dryer on low heat hold the blow dryer 4 inches away from the jar of blue magic bergamot hair grease wait until the grease liquifies and warms up (not hot or you’ll burn yourself with grease) and apply it to your edges before bedtime or before showering. I kid you not my edges started growing in what seemed like overnight! I tried everything with menthol to grow my edges-- this grease warmed up was a real game changer! And it’s cheap!🤙🏽 life of edges matter!

Back in the day, Mom washed our hair (3 girls with long hair) once a month. We wore those large box braids that are so fashionable now, except with no additional hair added. On holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, picture day, etc. this elderly woman with strong hands would do a hard press on our hair with that Blue Majic Begamont hair grease....and our hair always reverted back. Always. With edges intact. And that's a fact!

Im glad you are just staying positive about renourishing your hair. It's good to know (postpartum or not) we are all experiencing the stress of Pandemic. When I was pregnant in 2020, I had shaved my head bald. I let my hair grow back on its own time and by the time baby was born in 2021, I had a small Afro. NOT until I got those forsaken soft locs🤬, did I realize my edges were non existent and FRAGILE😭. It's hard to be gentle with the weight of soft locs, but I did it. I too went knotless and the braider swooped my thin edges into baby hairs(which I'm not a fan of, however, I needed to style the scarce hairs), humidity not being my friend, they sweated out the next day. Since then postpartum shedding is on and in effect! I've been co washing between hair washes and using Mane &Tail shampoo and conditioner for true washes; in addition back to basics with a concoction of coffee and Growth oil or Blue Magic grease concoction. We'll see...

I'm so happy that your edges came back in! You make me so scared to get braids though lol "No edges, and no baby" aka me a few months ago 🤣😂 I left mine alone, started doing wash n gos again, added rosemary oil to my shampoos, and stopped smothering them in product and castor oil and most of all STOPPED BEING SO STRESSED. I think that helped me grow mine back. The hardest part of all of that was trying not to stress too much and trying not to look at them. Edges take time to grow back in.
@Shaunpeters105
@Shaunpeters105 2 жыл бұрын
did the rosemary oil and castor oil helped you?
@gimmealargesalad
@gimmealargesalad 2 жыл бұрын
@@Shaunpeters105 Not really the castor oil, but the rosemary oil in shampoo and leaving it alone did. I went back and forth between wash n gos and twist outs. The twist outs gave my hair a break from too much manipulation, but the wash n gos let my hair be free. I also switched from bonnets and scarfs to a silk pillowcase so absolutely nothing would be touching my edges. They started growing back in and the hair that was snapping where things touched it started growing longer.
@ladyshia3
@ladyshia3 2 жыл бұрын
@@gimmealargesalad I should start using oil in my shampoo also, and deep condition regularly. I know plenty spring water and a decent diet helped my hair wonderfully before. I also did the w&g's and twists. Where did you get your pillowcase? Have you ever used a silk bonnet?
@stop08it
@stop08it 2 жыл бұрын
@@Shaunpeters105 jamaican black castor oil and peppermint oil worked for me, regular castor oil does not hing for me personally. essential oils like rosemary and peppermint are like boosters since they help increase blood flow to the applied areas.

@gimmealargesalad 2 жыл бұрын
@@ladyshia3 I haven't used a silk bonnet (can't find one D: ) but I have used a satin one and use them when I shower, but no longer when I sleep. I got my silk pillowcase from my sister, but I know that you can get them from Amazon too. They're around $20-30 for a mulberry silk one. Just be sure to read the reviews and Q&As to find out if it's real silk or not. I completely agree on the diet, too! Drinking more water and eating more healthy foods helped me with my skin and hair. It also made my headaches disappear!
