Thank you so much for this! My family all try to support me through Bell’s palsy the best they can but hearing you completely relate to what I’m actually doing through really touched my heart. You definitely helped me get to a place where I could allow myself to become emotional, cry like a baby, then feel a little better, more hopeful about it going away, and a whole lot less alone! Thank you for the amazing message you chose to acknowledge and having the courage to tell the truth about God’s love.

Jessica, thank you for sharing your story and your tips! As you know, it's so easy feel alone in this. But, it's comforting to know that we are not. I was diagnosed two weeks ago. It hasn't been easy. I had two deaths in my family last month and now this. I have felt sadness, anger, bewilderment, and self-pity. After I let myself go through those emotions, I realized that it could have been a lot worse. It could have been a stroke. I could be one of those poor homeless folks on the side of the road, asking for money in this cold weather that I sometimes see on the way to work. But, I'm not. It's certainly no walk in the park, especially since my line of work involves me talking to people in person, all day, everyday. I learned two new exercises from you along with the tip about B12. I figured that this was a wake-up call for me to take better care of myself. But, I agree with you in that it's very likely a call from God to be closer to Him. So, thank you for insights and for your encouragement. Glad to know you're fully recovered and pray that you stay that way!

I was diagnosed with Bells Palsy on 12/28/22 and have been completely restored in three weeks. I started the meds the next day, underwent several acupuncture sessions, and did facial exercises. After completing the steroids and antiviral medicine, I began taking the B12. I'm grateful to God for the restoration and all of the helpful KZfaq videos like this one. It also helped that the acupuncturist had experience in treating patients diagnosed with Bells Palsy. My eyes close, I can twitch my nose, have my taste and smile. I also took a week off from work to get some rest. Please be encouraged!

There are great videos on stretching, massage and facial excercises to help in recovery that I highly recommend. Lastly I would say make sure to be your own health advocate. If you feel things are not recovering, contact your physician.

@@trd830 hi friend! I should have posted an update but my journey with BP wasn’t pretty or easy but I can gratefully and joyfully say that my smile is completely back! After about a month I saw about 50% of my smile come back, and then it slowly got better. I was really scared about overworking my face with different exercises, massages, and stimulation so I listened to by body. Rested when I felt tired. Warm compress when I felt sore. And cried when I felt defeated. And smiled when I felt grateful. Sending you a warm hug and all my positive energy. You’ve got this! Take it one day at a time and be easy on yourself.

I just want to say I wish I would of been more acknowledged about this back like 12 years ago . I’m going through it right now it’s my second day , and it’s my 4th time but it’s been literally a decade since I got it . I fully understand how you feel and how humiliated it can be. My first time I got it was during 6 or 7th grade which were one of the most embarrassing moments in my life. Honestly I was made fun of. I never fully regained my facial nerves back but you couldn’t really tell unless I pointed it out. The first two times I did go back to normal . I wish I would of gotten treatment and found a doctor who was more acknowledged of my situation. You are truly amazing for coming out, and very encouraging and bless you for that.

Ariel Love to be honest it sounds a lot of what happened to me . In other words yes that’s where I noticed that I didn’t fully healed 100 percent. So I when I smile or lifted my brows or made faces I notice. It did lower my self esteem for a bit but you learn to deal with it . So I never knew massaging my face would help so I suggest you to try as much as you can. I been doing it and it help this time . It’s my third day . I’m not gonna lie but it makes me feel hopeless at times because this time I have a sharp pain around the side of my neck . Never remember it being so painful.

Spoke with my doctor over the phone on Monday and she thought that I might have BP or mini stroke and my doc recommended give a call to ambulance or go straight to A&E. My husband took me to A&E where I was diagnosed with BP. I have been prescribed with prednisolone in high dose, a gastro-resistant tablets, eye drops to use during the day and eye ointment for the night time, plus to use a tape to tape my eye for the night time. All that is very terrifies me but after watching your video it truly gives me hope to be as normal as before. This morning I had an ophthalmologist appointment who checked at the back of my affected eye and confirmed its all good there. So I started to think positive after that and hope for full recovery too. Also after doing some research how to treat BP naturally I ordered some echinacea tablets and elderberry syrup to support my immune system. Wishing the best to all, especially to those who are suffering with BP right now and wishing you a full recovery soon.

@@jessica_augenstein Thank you Jessica! Actually it took me 3 weeks to recover my face muscles! Feel so blessed. I had to research a lot of all possible treatment. I took cranial osteopathy sessions with following acupuncture after 7 days from diagnosis. And like a miracle, my face got better with every single session of it. In parallel, I was taking Vitamin D, Vitamins B group and important for nerve regeneration Omega 3. Also I got myself CBD oil (water based, as it absorbs better), elderberry syrup and echinacea (last two after 1 week course of steroids). So everything seems worked for me. I have little bit of sensitive skin when i touch my face, my OD told me I need to massage it more as from outside and inside. And I experiencing ringing noise in my ears, but I don't know if this two are connected with BP. However it started since I had those steroids ( What about you, do you experience any ringing noise? Looking forward to hear from you.

Thanks for your encouragement. I noticed funny changes in my face, watering eye, couldn't hold water in my mouth and I was on night shift. In morning I was at A&E department and was diagnosed put on steroids which is ending on 17/07. Am attending acupuncture therapy on key points twice a week from Chinese . I do apply warm towel on my face twice a day plus Castro oil. Am really desperate to get back to my normal. Have just started my 2nd week. So painful the way I chew, drink and swallow. We need to raise more awareness about this as more pple are getting this condition so that GP and nurses can give proper management and advice. I salute you Jessica

On prednisone and anti-virals for a few more days, and starting to look into acupuncture and b12 vitamins. Worst are the eye symptoms and headaches. I can taste fine, but my hearing is hyper-acute on the effected side, and my speech is somewhat impaired. I sound like I have a bag of marbles in my mouth. I need a clear voice and a nice smile for work! Hoping this all heals quickly but my age and pre-existing health conditions are also factors. It's a very difficult time right now.

I'm entering week three of my struggle with Bell's palsy. I'm seeing slow but steady improvement. I love this video because, as a Christian myself, I know how important it is to approach what I'm experiencing from a spiritual perspective. I also believe that God knows best and will always have my back no matter what. That being the case, I see this as an opportunity to exercise my faith for His glory and to perhaps contemplate what lessons I'm supposed to learn from this. I've remained positive and prayerful so far through all of this, which has NOT been easy to do; especially since I make my living on TV and my face is critical to doing my job. Despite my optimism and positive attitude, this has been a very frustrating and painstaking time for me and I don't by any means want to give the impression that this is anything less than a totally life-changing experience while it's happening--and not in a good way. So for me, it is incredibly inspiring and encouraging to listen to you discuss your experience from a Christian perspective. Thank you for that and God bless you.

My fiance got diagnosed with Bell's Palsy just a few days ago. I went and got him some vitamins that contain B12 to help him along with the healing. He did get prescribed Prednisone and Zovirax for it. Thank you for this video. I'll tell him the other things to help him along.
