Jill, thank you for the homeschooling information. Starting to homeschool sounds so complicated, but you make seem so easy. I started my child last year with a charter school and we were overwhelmed with assignments, deadlines and they seem to expect you to know it all. We decided to leave the program, because they were not friendly and not helpful. Anyway, after watching this video, my husband and I have decided to homeschool our daughter. I just looked into the good and the beautiful and I really like that they include God into the program. Thank you for this video and all the information you share. We also live in California and by the way things are going, I believe this is the best route to take in our daughter’s education.

Thank you so much for making this video!! I go through an online school K12. I’m teaching them every class but they have 2-4 1 hour meetings on top of their assignments. I’m pregnant with my 3rd baby and this school is super overwhelming. I wanted to go the homeschool route but had no clue how to go about it! I’ll definitely be doing this next year❤️

Just subscribed this video was insanely helpful! Thank you so much for sharing ❤️ We’ve used e good and the beautiful for pre K and loved it. I’ve heard a lot about Horizons, I’ll be looking into it. I like the option of being able to switch up curriculums and tailor it to your child.Relying on one curriculum doesn’t always work.

Im still watching your video but I applied for the homeschool affidavit back in October when required. For months I’ve been waiting for a certificate or something in the mail approving us 🥴 lol looked today and I’m kinda thinking I was expecting to need more than myself submitting a form online!! It’s so crazy. I also hate the word, “affidavit” I’m so excited to create a curriculum and withdrawal my children from school! I’m printing the forms from online and framing them. I’m listening to your video as I’m typing. I am beyond thankful for your easy and quick to follow video!

I live in NY but have been inquiring about homeschooling in California. NY is highly regulated. Standardized testing and quarterly reports (reports sent to the district every 2-3 months to let them know what the children are doing). It can be overwhelming! I had no idea California was not as regulated.

I started homeschool with a charter called "Visions" I was so excited at first. I thought it was going to be amazing! They told me that they where going to provide me with an curriculum to help my 5 year old daughter get started to kindergarten for next year.... so they sent this book.. where they where asking my daughter to do the "scientific method" WOAH! Way too much for a tk student. The teacher they gave me was very racist... she hated me because my first language is Spanish lol....... she hated my accent and everything... she never explained anything. They pretend you to know everything from day 1. And she would get mad if you asked for help ... it was a very bad experience for me.

We are homeschooling our boys soon. They are autistic but my husband and I decided to homeschool because we do not trust people. They still wear diapers and I do lot feel comfortable with other people changing their diapers

Thank you for this video! My wife and I are really looking into homeschooling our daughter when she is of age (she's currently 9 months) because of the things they're pushing in public schools.The only thing that we're struggling with is the financial aspect with one of us needing to stay home to teach, effectively cutting our income in half. I also have to add my daughter to my insurance soon...ugh. Two more questions that just came to mind. Are immunization records mandatory? How would they know what hours you teach your child? I know that they require that you teach anytime before 4pm for 3-4 hours, but for my wife and I, that's just not possible.

@@ckkbleev immunization records are not mandatory for Homeschooling. You still have a personal or religious exemptions opposed to public school were those rights are not excepted.

Hi! New to your channel, from Inland Empire here, how long did you start homeschooling after you filled the PSA? My son has Autism with severe anxiety and ocd, rhe reason why we pulled him out of school, i already started but couldn’t teach him all the subject ( he’s 3rd grade) becoz of behaviors d/t all the changes.

I'm just trying to figure out how to obtain funding for curriculum through the state. I feel like I'm missing something- :( am I unable to do that, unless purchasing it out of pocket ? If you have answered this question, forgive me. I'm just really trying to figure out how to go about doing this, with out feeling like a failure, and having to send my daughter back to public school. (I'm here in Santa Barbara County).

You only get funding if you go through a charter school. I personally do it myself so I have to buy all my stuff

California doesn’t actually have us turn in any school work or portfolio or anything. Just keep attendance and file a PSA

my daughter turns 6 in October I was told I don't need to file anything until 2023 because calif says she must be 6 on September 1st. is that true. I plan to do kindergarten homeschool but since kindergarten isn't mandatory then I wasn't gonna file anything

I don’t think there is a physical fitness test required? I’ve never done that….. I don’t believe it’s on the website.

After all this research are you purposefully leaving out the fact that most school districts offer home schooling programs through the public system? The state will give you grants for supplies, field trips etc.

You have to file in October but you can start schooling anytime before that! August is great! You just file oct 1- 15

I thought you need more attendance days for a full year? Yours is around 140 and I thought legally it had to be closer to 180??

California HS'rs do not have to file a affidavit. That's not "independent" homeschooling. Independent is NO AFFIDAVIT FILED. This is how I homeschooled and if this is incorrect please provide the recent law stating that it is illegal to homeschool without an affidavit in California

The HSLDA website has all the current homeschool laws. Filing the affidavit allows you to homeschool completely independently while still being legal. There’s no regulation. No one to answer to. No one to check work. No one go turn in attendance to…. It’s independent…
