A video about how I practise slow living and living simply as a minimalist with a 9-5 job and busy work schedule.
Sometimes it can feel like we're living in a world that does everything to prevent us from slowing down. This can make living in the present moment difficult and hard for us to find a healthy balance within our lives.
As a busy worker with a 9-5 job I found myself stuck in a cycle of constant productivity with no time for rest or to be still in the present moment. However, since adopting a slow living lifestyle and minimalist approach I found myself living more intentionally in the moments I do have control over that enabled me to find a better balance and work more productively because of it.
Against the common consensus more work does not amount to productivity and it's actually the quality of the results that matter most. Work and rest work in tandem with on another and I have been able to utilise this by living more intentionally and balancing slow living with the demands of a busy work schedule.
I hope this video is helpful if you're struggling to find balance as a busy worker. Let me know in the comments below your thoughts! Please like, share & subscribe if you haven't already too 😊

After a 9-5 job, you are creating youtube content, preparing food, reading books and yet practising slow living and delivering efficient output. I can draw a very crucial lesson from your lifestyle. Most people believe in doing something all the time. Even when I visit nature park, I see most people scrolling their mobile, watching or talking. But in the quest of always doing something, we are losing our inherent skills of observation, balance and connection with the nature. Taking lessons from your videos, I have also been slowing down. It has allowed my mind to be present. Efficiency in task is a byproduct of being more present and calm.

Thank you for your comment here and sharing these thoughts, it’s so nice to connect with a like mind who longs for this kind of slowness and stillness in life✨I couldn’t agree more though it’s the moments of observation that bring satisfaction and peace as opposed to the constant ticking off to-do lists. It’s a balancing act i’m learning myself and formed the basis behind this channel☺️

What a beautiful dog you have, such a cuddle pup. My favorite thing is taking my black rescue greyhound Madge out into nature, and enjoying the peace and quiet. I am so lucky that I just walk out of my front door here in West Devon, and I get to enjoy the bird song, and see things like deer and foxes and Canada Geese and Buzzards and deer, all from my surroundings - I do not need to go anywhere else. So I do not have a car now, and only go out to walk Madge. I am very happy doing this, as being a highly sensitive person, and suffering from sever anxiety, I can not stand loud noises, and do not want to be in crowded places. I feel so lucky to live where I do, as there is no passing traffic here. xxx

Holly you look lovely as ever and your little furry buddy has the best mom ever….you really did such a wonderful job with this video it’s absolutely perfect & you always capture the most beautiful things to express yourself and create the most relaxing and enjoyable experience for people watching…..I’ve always practiced some form of meditation in motion and going to the gym almost every day gives me a outlet to do something I enjoy and connect with myself and it also provides me with the opportunity to help other people and that is a big part of this spiritual practice ….after loosing my job this year I’ve noticed that since my financial situation is out of balance at the moment I struggle to feel 100% grounded and content..I’ve learned a lot these last few months about the importance of being calm while in the face of adversity …I always take a hour before bed and practice stretching and silence and in doing so I usually can get to where I stop thinking about everything for those moments and that has helped the most during this stressful time…when we’re always thinking there’s no time for our system to recharge and recover from the things that we go through during the day …. and your 100% right about getting outside in nature daily that is a must for me….Thank you 🙏 for everything Holly you’re the best

Hey Holly, love the advice you give on slowing down :-) I know it can't be easy balancing a full time job and being a content creator. Your videos are so artistic and so professionally put together, some of the shots you take are absolutely breathtaking. You really are blessed with such a creative gift, so please don't ever doubt yourself or this journey. I so appreciate the content you release and the effort you put into it. I heard something at church yesterday that really spoke to me.. it was something about discovering your creative gift and using it to move others towards encouragement. For me I've always dreamed of writing music that inspires people, but as with anything truly worthwhile, there are often giants to face. Hi LagomHolly, your selection and compilation of thoughts mindfully make me aware that a fruitful life oftentimes does require a balancing act. You may find my situation interesting, seeing how I'm working at adding challenges to my slow paced lifestyle. I left a good paying career a while back and decided to fully embrace a slow pace lifestyle by not working at all (great decision by the way) and then going into complete isolation, and now I'm contemplating what is the Best Movement for a prosperous future. I'm not really looking for a 9-5 job, but your story and thoughts are helping me to slowly return back into the dynamics of this world. Thanks again for another great video!

That why I think it’s important to embrace all of the experiences and thoughts that come our way as much as we can, to then decide how best we want to live our lives according to what suits us individually😊 I look forward to sharing more content with you around this! I work and I've dedicated myself to it, but every once in a while there is drama, that is caused by others and outside of my control. It's in this context that we create, because I do love creating. I like writing. I like thinking. I wish life was just a calm, serene place where we could create, and I'll try to go there, but in the mean time, sometimes we have to work. Slow living can be helpful as you said. Still, for most of us, work is necessary, so it has to be a priority to be in good standing at your job. But, slow living can allow us to connect with life, after the work. Thanks for sharing that you also have experience with working a 9 to 5! I know it's hard and so is KZfaq. Thanks for the inspiration. I believe in treating everyone with kindness, but we live in a world where different people are in different stages of psychological development, so we just try to make things as peaceful as possible with people we encounter. Thanks for showing us how you bring solace and comfort into your life. It just goes to show that being creative is a process that requires a sophisticated balance between your body, your mind, and the world around us. Thanks, Holly, again.
