Thanks so much I’m glad you like the style! Yes the power of trading I think really comes from patience and sizing. You don’t need many trades at really big size to make a lot. You just have to remember that it will take lots of struggle and time to get there but once you do it can be really powerful.

good video good charting. Good advice. I believe the false breakouts from consolidation are actually classic liquidity grabs before strong reversal but that's not important. What's important is you see the move and capitalize on it. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the excellent video, Riley! I'm new to the channel - do you have videos that show how you're actually executing the stop loss & sell limit orders? Not necessarily how to calculate the levels themselves, but once you've determined them, how you watch the market and simultaneously enter your orders. I'm curious to learn how to do this most efficiently on my own trades. Sometimes I miss a take profit opportunity because I'm too slow switching between screens and navigating the boxes/pop up questions on my Fidelity account. I appreciate it.

Welcome! I trade on Ninjatrader and I if you see on the screen the lines with the stop loss I am able to move it instantly with my mouse. I also have an indicator I made that allows me to just click on the chart with my mouse to enter in a buy or sell order super easily. So the only thing on my screens is the charts. I will have a Ninjatrader tutorial in 2 weeks most likely that will show more of details on how I do that.

The trendlines are done on the smaller timeframe. the 15 minute timeframe is only for the support/resistance levels.

Great video! You had a great win rate this month! Do you have any videos that touch on the progression of your win rate over time? I'm assuming in the beginning your win rate was lower since you were working out the details of your execution. How long did it take you to see progress there? Thanks!

That is really hard to figure out. I can broadly say yes it’s gone up over time but there are so many factors involved in that. The two main ones are narrowing down the strategy to what works best. But also the mental side. Being patient has such a massive impact it’s honestly make or break for any trader. So over time I’ve focused an insane amount of effort at figuring out how to be patient. Like trade less time every day so I don’t get impatient. And just getting better at accepting that you don’t need to take a trade everyday to be really profitable. The big profits come from size not # of trades.

One quick question, you talk about the 15 minute candle first to determine support and resistance and then the five minute or one minute candle for your trades, how many 15 minute candles do you take into consideration when creating your resistance and support?

It's not a specific number it's more about the price movement of the swing. Every time I draw a level in this video it's just looking at the bigger swings.

You are one of those who explain trading best and in the most down-to-earth way and for those who can become big with small capital. I'm sure. many many thanks. It took me forever to learn to think simply. I think that's the biggest problem for beginners. because everything on the internet is geared towards big trades and getting rich quick. But there's nothing there for the low earner, who certainly deserves a chance. Stay as you are. And enjoy it. The best and easiest approach. I can't do any analysis on the 1 hour chart if my wallet isn't big enough to make up for the losses. Should have known that beforehand. I've been messing around for 1.5 years and haven't managed to be profitable because I always thought I had to switch to the 1-day chart and then to the 15-minute chart. Complete nonsense. The closest is the 1min. Time frame and 15 min. time frame. That's the only way it makes sense. All other explanatory videos from the fat would-be traders, all in the trash! Sorry had to be said.

all I'm ever looking at are 123 tops and bottoms when I look at charts..the way you trade is exactly that but obviously with qualifications as to entries/ exits etc..I was taught this back in the eighties and they still play out beautifully

Hey Riley when you use this strategy, do you also have to go to the daily time frame to determine the trend or do you not have to use that high time frame in this strategy? What if the daily time frame says it's in an uptrend but you're selling at the resistance based on the 15min, does it matter? Thanks for all you do!

Good on you man… I’m definitely gonna give you props for the level up in your content over the last year. I use very similar strategy… Recently been working with RSI divergence in conjunction with the reversal setups on either the 1m or 5m. I prefer setups that can be clearly seen on the 5m, even if I need the 1m to help make better sense of it. But if I only see a DB or H&S on the 1m but not on the 5m, I avoid it… Even if at a clear level/area… And I’ve been finding that the RSI divergence in conjunction with the reversals at clear levels, is pretty solid… Again, I like to see the divergence on the 5m, but during the regular session, I am more concerned about seeing the reversal setup on both the 1 & 5 charts. And seeing an RSI divergence on at least one of those.

This is a really great video for helping build confidence for new traders like me. The mindset that you shared in the video, especially on taking profit when comfortable with 80% and not being greedy to get 100% is definitely something that is helping my build my trading strategy (in paper money). What are your thoughts on using volume in combination with price action?
