For canvas you can just use ctx.textAlign = "center" and ctx.textBaseline = "middle", if you need precise control over position of non monospaces fonts you can measure text/characters with ctx.measureText("text")

Oh wow, thank you so much! I only knew how to get the text sizes by setting a div to that same text with the same font but this is way nicer! And I probably just assumed you can't center stuff easily for some reason, this comment will save me a bunch of time in the future
