Watch lofty as he strategically gives information on how to build large scale Lego sets of epic proportion for stop motion animation.
This video was a lot of fun to make! It took me forever to complete, but I am really happy with how it turned out. Let me know if you want more videos like this one.
WEBRICK website: www.webrick.com/
WEBRICK provided me with a 12% discount code "LoftStudios" which is valid for two weeks, so don't forget to use that if you order anything.
Thank you WEBRICK for sponsoring this video. They provided me with the Minecraft set pieces featured in the video. Despite being an off brand, WEBRICK’s bricks are surprisingly high-quality! I can truly barely tell a difference between Lego, and WEBRICK parts. The only difference is that some of WEBRICK’s parts (mostly there studs and base plates) are ever so slightly tighter, but not in such a way that it hinders how well the bricks connect. Here is a brief introduction of WEBRICK:
Webrick's online store offers a vast array of Lego-compatible loose bricks, and in addition, it provides a convenient system for adult users to create custom builds. This includes an effortless part list upload tool and a feature to create a wanted list.
Here is a part list you can use to make a Lego Minecraft set like the one in the video: www.webrick.com/wp_collection...

Setting up your camera before the set is a underrated piece of advice. I remember back in the day making sets that had detail, where the detail wouldn't be seen.

Ya, that trick was been a big game changer for my set building. It really helps stretch the Lego you have to create a seemingly massive set!

It's good advice in general for any kind of content creation, define what will and won't be "on the set" and don't worry about what's gonna be "behind the black"... unless Homestar's around, of course. For game dev and other computer modeling work, a great way to get into the "only what the player can see" mindset is to load up a Source Engine game (Half-Life, Black Mesa, Infra, etc), noclip around, and see what parts of the level are actually modeled and which aren't. ...Or, y'know, go watch Boundary Break 🤔

This has gotta be one of the best cases of quality > quantity tutorial. Brief and to the point, and being hilarious on top of it. It surely contrasts watching some monetone monologue with no cuts 20 mins at a time-kind of tutorial. I will be shouting you out through a megaphone at my local town square for sure

The cut in half trick reminds me of how video games use “No Draw” textures to make it so anything the player cant see isnt rendered, leading to everything looking unfinished from the wrong angle. Super clever trick!

This is great! Not only is this a super useful guide for saving money, but the humor feels like it was taken straight out of a Lego Movie. Great work. Also about the "Cut in half" sound, the first one sounds like a Smash Bros. Sound, and the two after sound like a sound from Splatoon
