i totally get you when you’re answering the Q on how to feel good & confident w/out wearing makeup/ fast fashion! i was someone who was deeply in lined with fashion & trends past 2 years & in addition of being in instagram had significantly shaped me into being someone who was sooo self-conscious with deprived self esteem. it was very draining & exhausting to prove to the world that ‘i am somebody’ just by wearing trendy clothes & full on makeup. i had enough & decided to strip my life to the very basic. now, i don’t wear makeup at all (only lipstick) even to formal events. my wardrobe only consists with neutral palette colors (black & grey) both tops & bottoms. i deleted my IG account. to my surprise with all of these efforts, I never felt this good in my whole entire life! for real! i feel so much of self-sufficiency, self-content & i pretty much do not care of what others might think of me. i am me, in my most comfortable self, simplest form of human being & i am happy. waaayyyy happier!

Not wearing makeup has allowed me to be free & comfortable in my own skin. Not perfect by any means, but feeling beautiful indeed!

it's so refreshing to see someone without a lot of makeup or any makeup it's like you are from another planet in a good way, you're videos are so helpful and uncommon.

🙋🏽 Hi Nina. I stopped wearing full face makeup 3 1/2 years ago. I don’t miss it. Once in a while, for special times, I put on mascara & light colored lipstick.

Wow I really enjoyed this video. I’ve been in my career full-time for almost 20 years, and have spent the last year just waiting for Friday or 5 pm every day. I finally requested to go part-time, and even though I’ll have to make do with a smaller salary now, I can’t wait to have more time to focus on my other interests in life : sports, running, yoga, improving my German and French; taking classes, and much more. I realized I needed my time more than I needed the $.

I would look into places in Berlin that offer adult/continuing education classes to see about offering a soap making class. Like The Learning Annex does in NYC. As far as the comparing oneself to others = my mantra there is ‘to compare it to despair - because to our monkeyminds someone will always seem to have it better than us.’ I find it better to focus my precious time and energy on my path/journey.

I think it’s very challenging for people today to live simply and minimally. Capitalism feeds off of people’s vulnerabilities and insecurities perpetually peddling goods and services that promise the “opportunity” to potentially alleviate or eliminate those vulnerabilities and insecurities but more often only sustains an endless insatiable cycle.

I feel you on what you said! I also find it interesting that often people refer to themselves, as "consumers", a term that's very one-sided, as opposed to "citizens" or "humans" or something along those lines.
