Plus, the all he had to do to get together with Robin was “Make it rain” he was forcing destiny and got lucky in the process. Just proof that he and Robin could get together for a time but it was impossible for them to last forever. He had to let go of Robin and get under the yellow umbrella(and out of the rain) with Tracy.

Why do people like this sentence? I'm confused. You shouldn't need anyone to live your life. Yes you should be happy if you are surrounded by people you love. But that doesn't and shouldn't mean you have no life without them. People who like company of themselves are the happiest people, they don't NEED someone to make them feel legendary. THAT'S THE DREAM. Barney's whole life revolves around how he desires to be seen to as LEGENDARY to everyone including his friends. So this is the most toxic advice you can give to someone. The right advice should be something like make friends, have fun with them, make memories but don't get as so much attached that you can't survive without them.

The fact they only had one season to introduce tracy to the audience yet they somehow made her the most likeable character in the show compared to the characters that were in it for all nine seasons just shows some amazing talent even if you think the ending was terrible
@SeraphsWitness Жыл бұрын
Seriously though. After years of the main cast, you'd expect a new character to be absolutely hated. Yet the casting and acting were fantastic, and they still killed her off, probably in anticipation of the audience falling in love with Robin/Ted instead. Miscalculation. They should have pivoted.

@@SeraphsWitness great point and the problem with most authors and directors. They have a vision for the ending from the start, and don't like to pivot. We love her as soon as she showed up because she exceeded way past our expectations. She was exactly the female version of a Ted that we spent nine years loving and understanding and empathizing with. Other than just being absolute perfect for Ted, she's also fit with him appearance wise - brown hair, small, round eyes, adorable figure, etc. The ending would have made sense if they made another season for us to say goodbye to all the characters, and at least explain why Ted would wanna fall for Robin again after they had that lunch together...
@skydominguez20394 жыл бұрын
they said they didn’t totally love the ending in an interview, but couldn’t work their way around it because of the work they had done all the back in season one, with the kids. they were grown up and couldn’t redo it or find a way around it. they left it as is for us to decide.
@kingbradley34024 жыл бұрын
@@skydominguez2039 that was lazy on their part. It's hard to understand why we wouldn't immediately fall in love with her considering she's exactly like Ted, and she was everything he looked for after the endless heartbreaks. Agreed. For me the only issue was the divorce after such a build up. If you keep barny and Robin together or not rush it at least. It would make way more sense.
@FinnMcRiangabra11 ай бұрын
Disagree. The ending was nearly perfect. The story was always about Ted and Robin. The mother was an important element, but the show was not about some sappy ending meant to satisfy the title of the show. Ted clearly loved Tracy, as he had loved Victoria before that, and Robin before that. Tracy gave Ted something he could not have had with Robin, he loved her, but she died. This is a thing that happens. The show leant on reality to stop it slipping into complete farce. There was plenty of farce in the situational aspects. Without grounding (Marshall and Lilly's break-up, Marshall's dad's death, Ted and Robin being in different places in life, Ted and Victoria being in different places in life, etc.) the show would have been ridiculous. Plus, the title of the show is, "How I Met Your Mother," not, "How I Lived Happily Ever After with Your Mother." Most of the show's resolution haters need to grow up.

Honestly I loved the ending. I didn’t like it when I saw it for the first time but now I get it. It’s like Marshall’s car, Lilly’s dreams, Marshall’s dad who didn’t get to see his children, the divorce of Robin and Barney which was a marriage made out of bunch of lies.. all of that shows the Reality of everything, and that we don’t get what we want all the time and that’s just life.

it only made sense with Tracy's death. Or else, how would the last season be so intense. Why in the episode of the time traveler, will Ted just go to her house begging for the extra 45 days he'd want with her when she is still alive. It wouldn't be so intense. Damn, it made me cry whenever these kinds of scenes came up because you know how Ted waited 9 years before meeting the one just to witness her death. It's intense, loving, and at the same time heartbreaking to watch. I agree that Barney and Robin should not have gotten that divorce. Also, Ted and Robin's last scene just showed how it all came back to robin which was not welcoming. But the mother's death made it feel something deep inside. It makes me want to rewatch all these scenes just so that I could seize those moments and hold on to them. I never experienced true love or the death of a loved one. But watching this show makes me want to hold on to the love of my life as long as I can. This made me love the show.

I think I’ve just figured out one of the reasons this scene is truly magical. Throughout the show they have a lot of musical numbers: Suits, You Just Got Slapped, For The Longest time etc. And they are all brilliant, but what they also are is fantasy they’re songs that take place in a characters head or an over dramatised version that Ted has made. They’re well rehearsed, some sung in a studio, they’re not real. But this moment, this moment is real. Just a woman with her ukulele singing about the loss of a loved one and this right here is the moment Ted truly comes into reality, he might not know it yet but with this song his life has just started, his fantasy has become reality.

I think that Tracy's death was a sad ending but not a bad one. I think that it showed you can love someone so much and they can fight to stay but in the end the strongest are still taken away. My dad introduced this show to me and my sister and it took us 2 years. It was so amazing. At the time, i didn’t get most of the adult jokes because i was still like 13 but it still made me laugh so much. Before i knew it was abbreviated, me and my sister had come up with calling it HIMYM lol. I remember the first time I saw the last episode i couldn’t help but tear up. It went quiet and we kinda just looked at each other. Then we started cry laughing and it was the first time i ever cried about a show. 🙂 Robin showed me that you should chase your passions like dream jobs. Marshal showed me that love is the greatest thing in life and once you find it you can never let go. Lily showed me the importance of caring for others and staying true to yourself. Ted proved to me that you can never give up hope because one day you will find someone. As long as you don’t give up. And most important of all, Barney taught me that nothing in life is legendary, unless your friends are there to see it. I can’t wait till i have kids and get to sit down with them and watch this with them. Thank you HIMYM. I wouldn’t be the same person I am today without you.

Why does everyone hate the ending
@mentalkay4 жыл бұрын
that rainbow girl ash (Went on a rant TLDR; most of it is fine, Ted and Robin getting together isn’t. Should’ve left that ending die) it kinda undermined the whole season, and maybe the whole show. For me personally I have no problems with Tracy dying, they hinted at it, it made sense why future Ted would tell his kids this long story, and why the kids didn’t zoom out of it. Or Robin and Barney getting divorced, divorces happen and they weren’t a perfect couple. (tho they really could have spend more time on it, they didn’t really focus on any problems in the relationship and when they did the problems were kinda dealt with. All we REALLY get was a throw away line from Robin about how maybe she picked the wrong person). My only problem, and what seems to be a lot of others problem with it as well, is Robin and Ted getting back together. I mean the last season was almost completely about Robin and Barney’s wedding, the love between them not the still sparks of love between Ted and Robin. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention but Ted didn’t seem to be in love with her anymore. Seasons before they had tried to be together but realized and accepts that sometimes you are just not meant to be with someone. They planned that Ted and Robin will be together from like season 2 and seemed to really want that to be the ending. However from the way it turned out it looks as they ended the show, someone said “oh yeah, didn’t we have an ending planned?” so they just threw in these random ending that seemed to come out of nowhere.

The most incredible moment to ever exist in this show. In an episode full of drama, this episode was the most melancholy thing possible, and honestly brings a year to my eye. And yet, it's so beautiful. It makes you feel so many feelings of sadness and happiness, and it makes the rest of the episode feel like a distant memory because it pulls us in and lets it sit. I think barney and Robin were meant to be together. I think they just tried too hard to fit into this conventional marriage that just wasnt for either of them. If they had been more open to play with the walls of their relationship and give both of them room to breathe, they could've had a relationship as strong as Lilly's and Marshall's. 1 conventional marriage and 1 unconventional marriage both being successful would have made a beautiful message.

Dear Lee, For the first half of our marriage, we watched Friends like every single day. For the second half it was this show. We BOTH fell completely in love with The Mother and with this scene. It's funny, the ukulele you bought me for Christmas looks just like hers, and I'll forever remember you asking me to send you a recording of me singing this song for you when we were far away from each other during that difficult time. After we watched the finale together, you sent me flowers the next day "just because." It wasn't until years later that I put together that you sent them because the mother died, and you were always scared I would die before you. What a terrible plot twist, that it was you who got sick, in what can only be called the worst of times, and me left behind to thank every god there is or ever was or will be, and the whole universe, and anyone else I could possibly thank, for the time we had together. But I just wanted to tell you that I am, in fact, very thankful, and me and the kids are doing okay. Trying to do a little better at things all the time. But this scene will always, always make me think of you. Love you lots, Rach
