-Ted, this moment already is gone. The whole Minnesota Tidal Wave thing happened five years ago. It's just a memory. And the rest of this never happened. Right now, Marshall and Lily are upstairs, trying to get Marvin to go back to sleep. Robin and I are trying to decide on a caterer. And you've been sitting here all night, staring at a single ticket to "Robots vs. Wrestlers" because the rest of us couldn't come out. Look around, Ted. You're all alone.
•Kids, it's been almost 20 years since that cold April night in 2013, and I can safely tell you, if I could go back in time and relive that night, there's no way in hell I'd go to "Robots vs. Wrestlers". No, I'd go home. I'd go to my old apartment, see all my old furniture, my old stuff. I'd see my old drafting table, where I sketched out my first building. I'd sit on that old couch and smell the Indian food cooking three stories below. I'd go to Lily and Marshall's place,be back in that old living room where so many things happened. I'd see the baby. I don't know if you can picture me holding your six-foot-seven cousin Marvin over my head, but back then I could. I'd go have a drink with Barney and Robin, watch them fight about their caterer or whatever it was they were fighting about that night. But none of those things is the thing I'd do first. You know the thing I'd do first?
•Hi. I'm Ted Mosby. And exactly 45 days from now, you and I are gonna meet, and we're gonna fall in love, and we're gonna get married, and...we're gonna have two kids. And we're gonna love them and each other so much. All that is 45 days away. But I'm here now, I guess, because...I want those extra 45 days. With you. I want each one of them. Look, and if I can't have them, I'll take the 45 seconds
before your boyfriend shows up and punches me in the face, because...I love you.I'm always gonna love you, till the end of my days and beyond. You'll see.
-Can I help you?
•Oh, hey, it's, uh, Louis, right? It's okay, it's fine, um...I'm in love with your girlfriend, and, uh, we're gonna get married.
-What?
•Yeah.

Cedric Larouche thanks! There aren’t many people out there who really care, so bless you. And depression kicks in like hell lately, that was probably the reason I wrote this comment or even watched the video while I was drunk and should have a good time. But that’s something I have to handle on my own, but again, thank you and have a great day/night whenever you will read this.

Look around Ted. You're all alone. This scene made me cry. I'm 31 years old. The last relationship I had was 6 years back. All my peers are married and here I am. Sitting on a Sunday night with no one to talk to. HIMYM hits me home so strongly. Edit: Thank you for all your messages. There is some positivity in this world. I met a lovely girl. Getting married to her soon. ❤️❤️ Edit 2: Thank you everyone for your replies. Fills my heart with so much gratitude and happiness. Yes, I am married to her now for those who are asking. 🙂🙂

Alexia Beaulieu-Bellemare ive seen friends... no theres not. Any drama is made immediately comedic as the show tried to maintain its stance as a sitcom and not waver. Additionally there is not much in the way of character growth. All the characters not only remain their archtypes but don’t grow or learn from anything in their life. Where as HIMYM wasn’t afraid to have more serious moments with character building without having a joke in there.

My crying moment from how I met your mother was when Marshall dad died, Barney broke up with Nora and robin didn’t break up with her significant other, and Barney holds his daughter there is 2 more but anyway this show is definitely better than friends and I grew up watching friends!

It's crazy after all that, and he goes to robin to me. The ending was probably one of the worst let downs I have seen on tv, next was Andy and Erin from The Office. These two were the biggest let downs. Imagine if this was the ending and the wife comes out and says yes I will marry you. Would be insane, After all the barney and Robin growth, let them stay married and have a good one. Have Mosby steal the blue horn again and have that same kind of thing he did for robin but for the wife instead.

Josh Radnor was the absolute heart of this show. I don't think there has been or will ever be a character with as much heart as Ted Mosby. I'm all alone in this world. I don't have many friends, but one just got married, the other is in a long term relationship, and then there's me, alone, constantly being screwed over by girls that don't want me. I've focused on myself for the past 3 years now, and the waiting for the one to walk into my life isn't getting easier. I relate to Ted so much, as I'm sure many of you do. We just got to hang in there and wait a little while more. She's on her way, and she's getting here as fast as she can.

@@riisntsryc3771 a lot, proper question woukd be "which one?" Example: - remember when ted talked about his old shirt and start to rethink his exes could be actually the one? My last ex was one of the old acquaintance of mine, i remembered her when i wanted to clean my storage. - when ted let stella off after when stella choose her ex-husband, ted saw how happy stella was and decide to make peace with her, i did the same and still be friend with my ex after that eventhough she personally hurt me. - many of barney's theories and plays are actually worked in real life... - Like cheerleader's effect - the "ted mosby, architect" (not the architect part but when you say something in confindent) - the famous "have you met ted?" - The mermaid theory (where ugly girl turned into beautiful girl when you spend much time with her) - THE NAKED MAN, damn this still shock me that it works... 4 out of 6 now, self five! It's sad when you realise this is what Ted wants to say to Tracey six years on after she died. He isn't saying this in raw grief directly after losing someone. This is man who's adapted to living without his wife who still desperately wishes he could go back in time and have his wife back. These words he is saying are a truth that he knows with certainty and has lived with for so many years and which he knows are eternal. This is meant to his parting to her if you will and at this point in his life he's getting closer to Robin but still there's nothing in there that shows he's ready to let go of Tracey now like he said to Robin on the morning of her wedding or what Tracey said to Max. He's still seems like a man yearning to have his wife with him and it's like he knows he'll forever yearn for her and she's a part of him and there's no way he can truly let her go and he's ok with that. All he wants to let her know is he loves her as much as he did day one and that he misses her and if he could have her back he would and he'd give anything to have more time with her even if it's a few seconds and he wants her to know he'll love her till the end of his days and beyond and that's something that won't change no matter what or who comes his way. His parting words to Tracey aren't really a parting but a declaration of eternal love and rememberance and something he knows he'll forever live with.

Dublin, Saturday December 17th 2022: I went to this event at this pub and I was sitting at this huge table by myself because my friends were too busy to come out cause they have their own things going on and that's life, but... I suddenly felt like I was disconnected from what was happening all around me and decided to go home. The walk home took me about 25 minutes. It was cold but I didn't mind, I could even say I enjoyed it. On the way home this phrase keep popping into my head "you're all alone". Then, I remember this episode and as soon as I was home I pureed myself a drink and watch this episode. Look around Leo, you're all alone.

I relate to this more than I should. I feel that I’ve been alone for a long time, just waiting for that perfect moment, that perfect timing even though it won’t come true. All of my friends are successful in their individual endeavors and I can’t seem to find something to someone that can truly make me happy. I want nothing more than to just feel good about myself. This scene at this point in my life gives me a small glimmer of hope that happiness is out there. Somewhere. I just hope it comes soon.

its so weird man. But i found the perfect girl by accident. It's too long of a story now. But now, i do admit, that finding love is totally random. Like searching for a needle in a haystack. You'll eventually find it. But after how long? Took me 21 years. And i'm not even sure we're going to stick together. But every moment i get to talk to her online, i cherish it. Of course we will be meeting soon in person. But, for now, i'm just happy i get to talk to her. took me 21 years of my life. don't give up. Never stop believing. Just like i did. But remember to put yourself out there. It'll take you lots of trial and errors to eventually find the perfect key that fits the lock

@@itsyaboidale 8 months...8 months have passed. Such a long time. So many things have happened. Girls have come and gone. I can't really give you a clear update, because things didn't end up anywhere with that girl xD. What I learned is that real love doesn't exist. But the possibility to find that special someone is there. This year so far, I've had my first kiss and my first taste to what it means to be in a relationship. Short lived, but fun nonetheless. Currently, business is booming. This coming week I have a date with another girl and I have a few in queue. Meaning that I'll go out with them when I find an empty slot for both of us. In summary, I've learned to just go with the flow and date as many girls as possible. Doesn't matter if you're a perfect match or not. It's important to at least give it a chance. Gain experience. Of course always be a gentleman about it. It's a numbers game after all

@@itsyaboidale oh right. Nothing happened with the girl I was talking about 8 months ago. But Sparks flew with another one. Once we kissed, the chemistry was off the charts. We made out half the night. So don't lose hope. Be bold. Be assertive. If you have to ask if you can kiss her, do it. Who cares. Thats how I ruined my first kiss. If you have the balls, just go for it without saying anything. Brush her hair, so you let her know you're going in for the kiss and then just do it. Of course, make sure the atmosphere is there. Don't ever lose hope! I was the same tbh. Felt hopeless for years. Then I started working on myself and finally, the results came. You have to believe! No matter how hard life can be. Persevere!

This show made me realise how hard it is to find the right person for you especially when you have Ted's personalty and passion about love which is exactly my problem. After years of searching and pain through different relationships, I think I've finally found "the one" for me a few months ago. We've just started our journey together. Came back home from a bowling night in Missouri..and watched this episode for the first time. Now every-time I rewatch this, it takes me back to that cold winter night in Missouri and it just seems to so so lonely...
