Well informed video. Reminds me of my situation when I moved to Canada in 2016 as a permanent resident alone. It was equally challenging and exciting at the same time.. The experience one could gain being a sole explorer is priceless. Fast forward I am in better place now to where I started, resiliency is the key. Lived in Toronto all these until I decided to move to west just to be close to nature and better life. style..

Did the same thing except I had a couple of relatives living there but I left the country within one year.I have never experienced anything so cold empty and depressed... I had very high expectations but the reality or I'd say the dark side of Canada was unbearable for me... non-existing Social life is what makes a lot of people to leave in my opinion.I had been told all of this before I went but I didnt believe and didnt listen and so I learnt hard way unfortunately.Well, whatever, we all have a different taste for everything in life...just want to add that before Canada I had lived in London for many many years and I have to say Canada doesnt even come close its 2 different worlds why did I always think that the grass is greener on the other side is beyond me.

@@MakeThatChange Everyone has a different opinion but honestly I've never made more friends than I did in London ... Also the social life, night life, the atmosphere of city is just out this world whereas in CAN everything seemed dead I could not possibly handle it mentally.Also very few to almost zero job opportunities, cost of living is incredibly high and it doesnt match with two jobs, no education or even things like driving license is accepted unless it was issued in Canada.All these things just added up on my situation... I went back home for a while but will be moving back to the UK soon :)

AirBNB the first month is good for so many reasons. You have an address; if you have to fill in forms, change your DL, find a translator ... I manage to rent apartment from Europe before going to Canada, but then I realised how lucky I was. Another way to make new friends are inter nationals and meetup. I did most steps in my first weeks, people from worked helped me. What made me leave Canada was job market and cultural shock I got. I realised I don't like Toronto so I relocated to the country that fit my needs bette and I am not ashamed of saying "no Toronto is not for me" but nevertheless if was amazing learning experience. Unfortunately, Airbnb has been "invented" 2 years AFTER I landed in Canada. So, no I was not able to use it. But I was able to negotiate a 2 weeks stay at a cheap hotel (sheets changing and cleaning only once a week). I even used the hotel address to open a bank account. I also moved alone, with absolutely no help, and no one picked me up at the airport. Everything was exactly as planned months before landing in Canada. The only problem that left me speechless was "references". If you want to rent an apartment you need references. If you want to apply for a job you need references. How do you resolve these references in a country where no one knows you? I have faxed them! I asked former employers and landlords from my home country to fax references to a Canadian landlord where I filled out a rent form. It worked! I also used the emailed version -they sent me a copy by email - to get a job.

Nice video, you still have to be a little careful in Canada every year around 12k people goes missing in British Columbia alone in Canada around 40% of those people are found, how many people are murdered is up to interpretation. Canada is a good country but you still need to take care and keep in contact with family etc.

Are there any pros of moving to Canada after doing a healthcare degree ?
@MakeThatChange
@MakeThatChange 2 жыл бұрын
Depending on which country you come from, you might have an overall better salary and lifestyle with the degree. Depending on where your degree is from you may also expedite getting Canadian equivalency and get a job in healthcare. I would say that if you are truly passionate about healthcare and see yourself doing it no matter what, then it's definitely worth it. Some are not happy with the work-life balance and pay for doctors in Canada, that is why many opt in for moving to the US after getting their citizenship in Canada

I’m thinking about coming back as a international student ( post graduate ) 1 year and use the year after of work permit to get The point for express entry. I’m 28 do you think that’s it’s too late for post graduate and find work the year later at 29 ? Thank you for the videos !

I'd really like to move to Canada and work as any job, literally, the economy i much better than my current country, let's say, I wanted to work as security. My biggest concern is how to legally be allowed to stay and work in Canada until I get the legal citizenship, I don't know what papers I need, I don't know anything, and my plans are really big. It's as if, I had a can of food to eat, but nothing to open it with.

Is there anything positive about moving to Canada? I hope to see a video about that. I don't understand why I hear some foreigners still considering to move there when I've seen nothing but videos of all the negative stuff and why people should leave Canada. I'm a Canadian who's born outside of Canada and have lived my entire life outside of Canada. I've only been back for vacation. But in a year's time, I may have to make the ultimate decision whether to move to Canada or stay put in Asia. All those negative videos out there are pretty scary to hear about bad healthcare and rising cost of essentials.

@@MakeThatChange Disregard visa issue (e.g. study permit, work permit, and/or PR permit), very little impact or challenges for me because 0. People around me still call me Anna. 1. I am working as the same position/jobtitle in the same industry as what I did before college in back home. 2. Rarely have to speak English but 95%~100% chance I speak the same language as before (i.e. similar ethnic community, and very strong ethnic community support from school to work place) 3. I only move around where metro rail system (i.e. SkyTrain) could take me to, which are pretty much occupied by my ethnic community group. 4. Very similar street and building view as what I had over before back home. 5. Employer disregard my college degree which I got here in Canada but treat/valuate me as if I got only high school diploma (before I immigrate to Canada). 6. The same level of living expenses, somehow lower, as back in hometown. 7. Much better air quality here even in the worse part of the Great Vancouver Area.
