My biggest tip for moving overseas: get rid of things, then get rid of more things. I moved to Germany last year for my Masters but I'm looking into applying for jobs in Italy after I finish. I shipped about 5 small moving boxes of stuff then just brought my backpack and suitcase with me. That wasn't a pain in the ass really, but I just moved apartments and I felt overwhelmed by the stuff haha. And if I move to Italy I want to get rid of more things. It's hard, but so helpful!

Girl @6:18 the stare in Italy i want to correct you. it is considered rude to stare. I think they do it cause you're pretty and look different as in they're trying to figure you out. ALso please one thing you have to understand that many people you encounter in Italy are not italians. They are also from Romanian, Albanian (especially), Croatians, etc. they may look and speak Italian but they are not. Anyway don't pay them any attention just smile, wave and keep strutting.

Thanks for being honest about that difference in treatment between Africans and African-AMericans (I've heard that from others) it depends on which category you are perceived to be in.. An "rich" American tourist or a "poor African immigrant." Also there is some bias against Muslim immigrants in the country overall. As you said though there are nice people and rude and/or racist people EVERYWHERE.

This video was great. I am in Cannes because I know some French and no Italian at all but my dream has always been to live in Italy. The fear of not knowing the language has stopped me. Also, not knowing which area to go. Saying think of what you envision yourself doing every day to make that decision was really an eye opener and helpful! Good luck from new subscriber Also, you mentioned Rome or Florence and not Milan, can you mention your opinion why as an American, you can’t go wrong with those two cities? Really thinking about making the move. 🙏🏽🌹

I'm glad that you feel good in Italy but I don't understand why you don't care that much about Africa otherwise you would have moved there. The fact that you all want to be in Italy or other European Nations tells me that you have little or no interest in the land of your ancestors. The irony is that Africa is a beautiful continent. I'm I happy to see all these African and people of color in Italy and Europe? Not really and the reason is that I don't want to imagine an Italy as a Mulatto country. That would not be Italy anymore. I want to add something else. You wonder why they stare at you? It's because they are not used to large number of Blacks and people of color in Italy. It's just a recent occurrence and while staring they wonder why the Italian government allows all these people to enter and live in Italy.
