今回、日本に来られたきっかけを英語で紹介します（もちろん、CC字幕も付いています★）Applying for the MEXT Scholarship isn't something I had really planned for, but it turned out to be one of the best opportunities in my life, and the reason I was able to move to Japan for free!

The X in MEXT comes from combining the C in Culture and the S in Sports and Science. Technically, it is MECSST, but it sounds the same as MEXT

I was applying 2 weeks ago for this MEXT scholarship for undergraduates and I can't believe you used this to go to Japan! I'm a senior in highschool graduating on the 25th of May and I'm really hoping for my dreams to study abroad to come true. Thanks for the info too, Loretta!!

日本の政府は海外からの留学生には留学の支援をするのにこれから海外に留学したいっていう日本人には支援がほとんどないんだよな。留学をしたいのに語学学校が高いもん。これがもし僕の情報収集力のなさだったなら謝ります

こんばんはロレッタ！ガイです。いっぱい質問があるんやけど、一番必要な質問は、MEXT　Scholarshipを申し込む時に、Did you have to write/type out what you planned to research/ Study in Japanese and in English? I have the Applicationやけど、It ask me to write what I plan to research/ study in Japan.　ロレッタが同じことあったんですか？I'm kinda confused.. @_@

Is this something anyone can apply for or do you have to be a current student? I'm in my senior year of university right now and it would probably be three or four years before I could feasibly move to Japan but this seems like a great alternative to being an ALT for moving to Japan.

Im british, 21, and havent been to university, do not have any degrees at all. How can i go about this, i am also going to japan in october for a working holiday. But this seems good for me as im thinking about getting a MA or BA, because i aspire to live in japan many years into the future. Please give me some insight ;). Great video by the way.

Loretta, this was so helpful! My husband and I visited Japan last March. I'm interested in doing JET there, but he was much more interested in Japanese ancient culture and historic preservation. This kind of scholarship sounds perfect for him. Thank you for the info!

This was so cool! I'm already thinking about ways to stay here after my one year student visa is up, but without a degree this doesn't seem to be the route. Still thankful for the information!

I'm moving to my university next week on this scholarship and I am so excited! I applied in my junior year of college and now the time has finally come to leave 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
