Packing the Archie Comics: noticed when you packed the 2 lots of Archie, you only needed paper around the edges to center the bundles. When I have that situation I crumple and run the paper around the corners of the item. Uses the same amount of paper and time, but provides more protection to the corners when the carrier handles the package harshly. If the box is going to fail, it’s often from being dropped on a corner edge. Just putting it in on the edges fails to provide fill at the very corners.

I print each label out after I pack the item. I'm way too careless to be trusted to bulk print them.

A brief comment on Archie Comics: I started reading (and buying and selling and collecting) comics at 10 years old. I’m 51 now and all but retired from superhero comics. These days I get much more reward out of reading classic Archies. They’re just fun and innocent and a nice lil escape from the world for awhile.

Love your videos. I would have added an extra piece of cardboard on that double lot of comics. They could easily slit the comics when they open the box as you shipped it.

Agreed. I almost always put a piece of cardboard to avoid customer cutting into the item.

I love to use paper also when packing. I watched another reseller who decided to switch over from paper to a machine that makes air pillows. I think there are definitely pros and cons to using paper or air pillows. I guess I hope most people are either recycling or reusing any packing paper they get in packages from us.

You are a master packer!! When I pack, about every 3rd strip of tape ends up getting stuck or folded over onto itself or attached to me (arch!).

Would have to venture a guess that the 17 hat order went to a Wedding Party as that might be enough for quite a few folks and depending on where they are from, it might have been easier to find the hats in quantities then searching out smaller amounts.

I like to move them around though, otherwise that would be a good idea. Suction cups might work but I've always found them to not be great either.

I've shipped a lot of low end cards, mainly Pokemon, and have never had a problem from machining by following the eBay standard envelope guidelines. I go card in a penny sleeve and top loader, wrap that in paper, drop it in a rigid mailer, and it ships at 2oz (could be 1 if I bought smaller mailers lol)

Mercari shipping confuses me. When listing if buyer pays it seems you don’t have the option of updating the package weight and size before shipping and no option to revise if actual is different. And it seems that Mercari is overcharging buyers for shipping. What are your thoughts?

It didn't although it does appear that way. We shot all of the order pulling clips at once. Then I shot the packing clips and laced them together with the corresponding order pulls. I did consider when editing that it seemed like Candice was just standing there waiting lol

I was wondering what program you guys use to edit, crop, and rotate your shipping label PDF files for your thermal printer? I would love to avoid not paying Adobe $20 a month just for that 😮‍💨

I just open the labels and print them as they are from all of the platforms we use, with no manipulation required. Most platforms you can choose a default label size. I think Mercari I used to have to take a screenshot of and print but they updated to providing 4x6 labels.

question - with the comics you kept saying the box is 12x10x4. the bottom of the box says 8x12x4 with an extra '10'. are the mislabeled? asking because whatever the correct size actually is, he comics fit perfectly.

The bottom of the box says BX12x10x4, that's a "B". They are 12x10x4 boxes.

When I was editing I saw there were some that were like BX12104 without the "x's". Last month the 12x10x4's were on backorder at Grainger so I bought 100 from the boxery, I think those are the ones with the weird labeling.
